ROAR is a restaurant rooted in rebellion. We honour the rebellious history of Tofino and we proudly rebel against the status quo. It’s the waves crashing and raging flames. It’s the roar of a rebellious nature.

This isn’t like any other restaurant. We cook with live fire, and all of our food and beverage is inspired by the local people, makers and ingredients of Tofino.

Just as you would gather with friends around the campfire, we invite you to get comfy here while we share the stories behind every one of our menu items as the fire roars in the background.

We had the poutine as an appetizer - super delicious! The only disappointment was the fact that their fryer is no longer dedicated gluten free. We also had the risotto which was very yummy but could have had a bit more flavour or maybe more salt. I asked for Parmesan and pepper to help it out. :)

My husband and I came here for the second time and luckily had Emily as our server again. Her service is amazing, she is so attentive and paid attention to my intolerances throughout. The food and wine was incredibly good and fresh. There was attention to detail in the presentation and the flavours popped in every dish. We will always come back here on our annual trips to Tofino, it’s a gem.

We stayed at Hotel Zed for the weekend of Pride events and dined at ROAR a few times! Beautiful room, great cocktails and thoughtful, well presented food. The dinner we had on Saturday night was excellent and our server Mike was a riot - truly passionate about what he does and knowledgeable with wine and food. It was refreshing to have such an engaged and friendly server. Thank you for making our night special!

Stayed at Hotel Zed and ate here on the first night, enjoyed it so much that we booked for our second night too. The food is inventive and delicious, we loved the seacuterie in particular and also the Sable fish. The Blanc de Blanc sparkling wine was fab as was the Merlot. Joe looked after us brilliantly and was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend eating at Roar

Eating at this restaurant was dissapointing for both my wife and I, The Food wasn't cooked properly and was cold. The service from our waitress was fine but we will never go back
