Great host - she let me sit at my table before my other guest was joining in a few minutes. Fast turnaround time for food too!

I realize Roanoke is popular & busy, tho wish something could be done about tempering the noise level in the back room. Even lowering the stereo would help. When crowded, there is something about the heightened guests' conversation levels bouncing off the ceiling that rapidly wears me out. Otherwise, excellent in all ways.

Went for a pre-ballet meal at noon on Sunday. Food was very good (we got brunch items) and service was very good. We very much appreciate this restaurant being open on Sunday.

We were seated upstairs, which is elegant and quiet and has a very different vibe than the ground floor. The TVs "needing to be on," was sort of weird. The drink menu upstairs is a bit limited. The food was delicious and the prices were fair.

The vegetables were seriously undercooked/almost raw, the fish portion was small, though alleged to be a whole fish, and the food was generally over salted.

Space is great but food and service was not. Got the steak cobb salad, and the steak was so fatty and tough that I couldn’t eat it. The service was lackluster at best. My friend ordered a Paloma and our server said he would have to see if they could make that or not. Kind of strange since it’s a relatively basic drink. He said they didn’t have the ingredients for it. He then went on to rather curtly and rudely say they had no crabcakes which we tried to order and when I asked about the fresh fish of the day, he said “nope. We don’t have that either tonight.” It’s unfortunate that the experience was not a good one, especially given its proximity to the theater district and for a pre-theater meal. There are plenty of other options in the area, so I will not be repeating this particular one.

Other than our waitress forgetting about us after we received our entrees, the experience at Roanoke was good. I’d go back.
