Took my girlfriend here for our Valentine’s dinner. We enjoyed the food and the recommendations from the server. Will definitely want to go back in the summer when patio seating is available.
Surprise valentines plans that really turned out for the best. Our server was super attentive and the food came out relatively quickly! Everything was delicious, and the server helped me make some changes to a dish so that it would be vegetarian which is always a nice surprise.
If you're a veggie the Croque Madame is great without the ham, and the burssles sprouts were lovely.
Food is delicious. Decor is romantic. Weird choice of plaid shirts, wife beaters and backwards ball caps on staff. It just doesn't fit the style of the place. They also control the music from an iPad under a corner booth for patrons. Odd.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the City. Tucked away like a secret, once inside you can sip glorious champagne and nibble on good eats. Our server is always attentive and respectful of our pace - he lets us enjoy the bubbly and food, and each other with just the right amount of attention.
Food was delicious, though they were out of lobster early on a Friday night. Specialty cocktails were amazing. Love the ambiance, super cozy and relaxing. Only glitch was our server, who seemed annoyed to have to even be there. She repeatedly walked by us and completely ignored us, even when we’re trying to order more. She never introduced herself and never once smiled, and just seemed to have an attitude. We didn’t let it ruin our night but just be warned.
The trout was fantastic. The winter salad was fantastic. Great restaurant!
Loved this cozy romantic spot for weekend brunch, service was attentive & the food was good with French flair!...bon appetite!!
The wine and ambience is great; however, the grand seafood plate was very bland and mediocre.
We made a reservation because its suppose to be a nice romantic restaurant. I was bringing my gf for her bday. It was a Tuesday night and the beginning of happy hour but they were out of oysters. They were out of a lot of items and the host/server didn't seem to care much. She was too busy on her fun to pay attention to us and the bartender was too occupied with his friends to make our drinks. We sat there for 20 mins no service no nothing. finally got our drinks in and we decided not to eat anything because they didn't have what we wanted. The music was blaring offensive music. the worst place I've been in for a very long time. I would never return nor recommend it to anyone. It ruined my GF's bday so instead of the nice dinner I had planned we ate the better bbq joint next door. They need to shut this place down
Food was delicious. It was a little chilly in the restaurant.
This place used to be a little upscale with a better decor with more chandeliers. The food isn’t as great either and the service is slower.
The my used to serve the champagne in the flutes but not anymore; served in small glasses( rip-off) for a $18 drink. Not worth it any more .
It is very noisy with a much younger crowd. I woundnt be returning!
Great food, ambience was great. Can get a little noisy when it’s full, but overall I had a great time.
The place was very cozy and the service was excellent. The food was good and generally worth the price, but I've had better. The only real downfall I thought was the music was very loud. I had a hard time hearing the person across from me and we were the first ones in the restaurant at 5pm.
Terrible service. We are 2 out of 3 dishes that we ordered and sent the other back.
The burger was excellent. If you're going to order the lobster mac be prepared to share because the portion is huge! So food was good. The service was ok. They took a very long time to get back to us for anything. So LOTS of waiting. And it get LOUD. The place has potential to be romantic but we had to basically yell to hear each other. Not the best place for a date. A night out with friends sure but not a date or anything special.
Mixed drinks were good. We ordered the small plait and it was good except the shrimp was not. The flat bread was amazing as well as the Brussels sprouts. We liked the vibe overall but surprised how very casual it was.
We only went for the mimosa bar for brunch and they no longer have it. Kinda a let down and a bummer! We sat by the fireplace and it got ash all over my hair and ash kept falling into our food. And it was so hot! The weather was high 40s that day and they really didn’t need a fire. The whole room was too hot and smoky. I prob will not go back since there are lots of places with similar food and brunch drink specials.
I've had this restaurant on my "to try" list for years. So glad I finally got to try it with some girlfriends for brunch. Every staff member I encountered was great/nice/helpful. The service was exceptional. The ambiance is so unique and cute. I've never been to Paris, but this is what I imagine a quaint French cafe would be like. They even have oysters from breakfast. How Parisian. The only downfall was, while cute and charming, the super smoky fireplace. I smelled like a bonfire when I left, but worth it!
Ordered apps then when it was time to order food the kitchen was closed
We went on NYE, while our server was SO nice...the service was SO SO slow. It took 2.5 hours for a prix fixe meal. We would wait ages to have our table cleared, or drinks refilled. Just not a great experience.
Nice NYE dinner. But two criticisms. The place is very very noisy and it was difficult to hear my table mates even though we were only 3 people. Also on the prix fixe menu, they ran out of the Tiramasu which I ordered right when we sat down. They brought over a macaron and said we ran out so here is what we have. Would have been nice to be asked what I wanted. The waiter eventually came over and apologized for running out and asked if I wanted the other dessert. I thought for the money we spent, the experience would have been top notch. Good, but not amazing.
New Year’s Eve Celebration
We had a wonderful time ! Great food friendly and prompt service!
I thought the ambiance was amazing. We had just come in from a snowy evening to a cozy, warm restaurant with the fireplace going. The lobster deviled eggs were great, but the two other appetizers we had were just meh. My cocktail was also delicious, but the service was not impressive. I'm not sure if they were short staffed, or what, but the restaurant was not super busy and the servers timing was off. He didn't often come by to refill water or check on the status of our food or drinks. It was a lovely setting, but everything else was mediocre.
Cozy west loop spot with a fireplace. Great for drinks or dinner.
Last call and kitchen closed before our reservation through open table. No apologies or attempt to rectify situation.
Great food, service was ok, kind of slow
Weird place. Champagne bar that, given how smoky the room is from the fireplace, must not take its mission seriously since no could sniff anything except fumes. Nearly empty room, which made the decision to play loud techno music, refuse to seat me until my companion arrived, and attempt to seat me at the brightly lit table next to a work station totally puzzling. Service was pleasant in a shaggy sort of way that seemed more proseccp than Cristal. Food was competent. Not sure what the goal is here, but hospitality and oenology don’t seem to be on the list.
The food is okay here, nothing amazing but I love the ambience and the cocktails.
Food was phenomenal, server was phenomenal, ambiance was phenomenal. It is a new favorite!
We had good food and good service but it was just too loud. It was Saturday night and the music was pounding like we were in a club. We were sat right next to the speaker which didn't help. I appreciate the lovely atmosphere but it's a cozy place, not a NYC nightclub.
I loved everything about this place but the blasting music. If was recommended as a romantic restaurant but if you have to yell to be heard it’s not romantic.
Great food and atmosphere. I love the service as well.
Super loud environment. Not conducive for conversation.
I loved this restaurant. It's perfect for a date night or night with close friends. It's got a very romantic ambiance with it's dim lighting. The food was fantastic and the best part was being sat right next to the fireplace. It was a perfect evening.
Birthday! Service was lovely and food was AMAZING
We selected this location for a Sunday brunch because we were intrigued by its Parisian style and the champagne/mimosa bar sounded interesting. We were rewarded with a great atmosphere, excellent service, and wonderful food. We were able to get a seat by the fireplace and loved our time there. Not sure if it was trying to be true to Parisian style or just that it was Sunday, but we were not hurried at all, our server was always attentive, really nice, and gave us great recommendations! We had such a great time!
Everything from service to food was great!
Service was amazing! Everyone was so kind and helpful! The ambiance of the restaurant was really cool! And of course our meal was really good too. Overall we loved the restaurant and would definitely go again!
