Read about this Resturant on th “Only in Oregon” email newsletter. Was highly recommended so gave it a try. Very very pleased. The location is quiet and peaceful. The view of the river is great and the resturant is very nicely laid out. The food was awesome and the service was great. Not the cheapest place to eat but well worth the price.
Great food and wonderful service. Felt comfortable near the fire. Definitely recommended!!
Riverview has been promoting a dinner for 2 or 4 on Groupon for a couple of years and I purchase one Groupon every three months just for the Butternut Squash Ravioli. It is a 4 course dinner and I have highly recommended them after every visit. However, the last 2 times it would really be hard to give them a 10 out of 10; maybe a 7 out of 10. They changed one choice of appetizers from a bruschetta to a polenta with aioli. The bruschetta was incredible and the polenta is bland; tasteless. Since we are vegetarians, this is our only choice as the other appetizer has meat in it. Even their Butternut Squash Ravioli isn't quite what it was. It use to to have more butter/brown sugar dripped over the top of the Ravioli which made it incredibly moist and awesome. One person in our party received their Ravioli perfect. Two of us received ours dry. Finally their creme brulee dessert size has been reduced in size quite a bit. Do I need more butter/sugar/creme brulee. No, but the Riverview is the place we go when we want an incredible dinner. It is a 45 minute drive there and we have been disappointed these last few times. Come on Riverview - increase the price of the Groupon and go back to those extra touches we have become accustomed too.
We felt we waited too long to be seated for a reservation time. It felt like they were a waiter short for the number of tables. Dishes ordered were liked.
Our waiter was new and I think overwhelmed. Not the main st attentive.
Food was 4 course meal. We all enjoyed the appetizers, salad was average, main courses were very rich and wayway to many potatoes. Men’s as quite fatty. Mostly reduce the a,punt of yoshida sauce they use. Make it a side dip.
The friend that had the ravioli said too rich too much yoshida sauce. The one with salmon said good.
The flourless choc cake was very good.
Cream brûlée was too chilled and just average.
Enjoyed a wonderful Easter buffet. The restaurant was packed but not too noisy. The live music was a nice touch. Will definitely return.
It is now our family tradition to enjoy the delicious brunch and beautiful surroundings on days like Easter and Mother's Day.
Our dinner here was fantastic. The food was outstanding and the ambiance was amazing. A few things to note: Our server was extremely nice but missed a few steps. Nothing to change the meal but needing to ask for silverware for extra courses and not selling coffee with dessert. Another small note, we really wanted to see the gazebo as stated on the website but after 9 I guess all the lights get turned off. So we did not get to enjoy that. All in all it was a great meal in a beautiful restaurant with good service. We will be looking forward to our next meal here.
Date night! Groupon menu selection was great - salmon is back. We’ll be returning.
Awesome as always!!
Very beautiful. Lots of food. Great place to take out of towners!
This is a great restaurant with great views and ambiance. The service was outstanding and the food excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for everything from a romantic getaway to a large gathering.
We had a party of 10 for my in-laws birthdays - age 92 and 87yr. The restaurant was very comfortable, music nice and not too loud, and the staff was very attentive and pleasant. looking forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy the outdoor patio.
Riverview has been a family special occasion (including every time I visit from Boston) favorite for decades. You can read my past glowing reviews but this time, on St. Patrick’s Day evening, was an unnecessary disappointment. No one told us when we made an Open Table reservation that there would be a birthday party group of 20 people at a giant single long table who would arrive just ahead of our arrival and overwhelm just about every aspect of the small indoor dinning room, staff and kitchen.
Perhaps they might have blocked out the 90? minutes during which our table and those around us had wait for every single step of the evening from being seated, cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desert...don’t get me started on bar service including serving a bottle of wine. The latter is always comparably slow at Riverview, but on this evening was that much more so even though the table for 20 was not ordering alcoholic beverages.
Something is different about Riverview. It was a 5 Star in our opinion for the longest time. Maybe when Summer returns and the patio overlooking the river reopens it will return to its former glory. My family hopes so!
It was acceptable, a bit busy and under staffed
Great location, service and food also good and tasty
Food was alright but overpriced. It seemed everyone around us had a Groupon ticket. We had very poor service. We had a 2 hr widow to eat and we used all that time up and did not even have time for dessert. We did a lot of waiting.
We sat for 15 minutes before a server arrived. I had to go to the host to get that. Based upon my most recent visits, it seems they have adjusted staffing for reduced business base, which causes poor service, which reduced business, which.....
I am not sure I will be back.
Our second time purchasing a Groupon deal. The first time around was phenomenal so we quickly purchased another. We went back for exactly the same experience and the food was not the same. It was good but not the exceptional experience that we encountered the first time. We highly recommended Riverview to our friends and family after our first Groupon dining experience. We were able to talk several friends into purchasing Groupon deals. We are nervous about encouraging friends to commit and having them be disappointed in this experience. The service was good and the atmosphere is consistently nice. The biggest inconsistency is the food.
The polenta frite appetizer was delicious, moist, and flavorful with a lovely red pepper sauce. The greens in the salad were good but the Yoshida dressing was not. It was salty and did not go well with the greens at all. The chicken was moist, with the mushrooms and light cheese adding just the right amount of flavor to the chicken. Again the Yoshida sauce did not complement the chicken at all and I moved the chicken out of the sauce to eat it. For dessert I had the chocolate decadence. It did not have the intense chocolate flavor that I had hoped for.
I like the restaurant in whole but being from the old school I would like to have it a lot quieter. You have a piano being played but the noise level is such that you can't hear it. You could use some sound deadening in the ceiling.
The food is good along with the service but the noise makes it so you would rather sit outside.
I went to this restaurant with my fiancé for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the restaurant itself was gorgeous! Very romantic place ❤️
We went here with another couple for my husbands birthday. We did a 4 course Groupon for a set price. There were plenty of choice on the set menu. The food was amazing! It was beautifully presented and delicious. They even brought out a special dessert with candle for my husbands birthday. We will definitely be back.
Food was amazing , restaurant is beautiful, service was outstanding. I will definitely recommend it. My new favorite :)
Great food, great service and the atmosphere is outstanding. they have a nice little bar where you can order drinks and sit outside on the deck over looking the sandy river when the weather permits we've been going there for over 5 years now and just really enjoy the place.
Great food, great service! Piano player was the perfect touch!
I love all of the food and service that my husband and I got. I would definitely go again for anything. It was magical and gorgeous.
I don't know what happened to their Valentine's dinner event but it was terrible. I've been going to their Valentine's dinner for the last 4 years and the food has been spectacular until this year. The appetizer was stale bread, the soup was too watery, the salad was smothered in dressing, and the red velvet cake was dry and frosted with fondant, not buttercream frosting. My husband agreed that it was subpar comparing to our past visits.
It was fantastic - the food, the server and the ambience. All made for a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner.
We’ll be back.
I took my fiance out to the River View for Valentines day dinner and I must say that it was a very pleasant experience. The staff was super friendly and our waiter Adam was awesome! the Piano music was a nice touch of class, and the food was delicious. Looking forward to going back soon!
The atmosphere, service and food were wonderful. A great place for a special occasion.
My wife and I ate dinner here for the first time and absolutely loved it. All the food was amazing. Our servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. The chef was outstanding. They recommended dishes to us and we loved everything they recommended. We will absolutely go there again and can't wait to share it with our friends. It was totally worth the drive. Great prices for such quality dishes and tastes.
We went to celebrate Valentines day early and as usual both the service and the food was great!
The special was the snapper and crab and was awesome
This was our 4th time dining here, 3 of those times for our anniversary. Every single time the staff was very friendly, we were seated very quickly and the food was delicious. Our waiter, Bradford, was funny and very friendly. We can’t wait to dine here again. This is by far one of our favorite places to eat.
We were seated upon arrival. Great atmosphere, very good food, service. Really liked it and will go again.
Wonderful romantic atmosphere with piano music in the background. My wife and I enjoyed our 22nd wedding anniversary here. The food was great. We took a stroll through the grounds while we waited for our food to be prepared. I definitely would come here again. Nice selection of wines.
The atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. Everyone in our party enjoyed their delicious dinners. The service was great. We are all likely to return again for a special occasion.
Friendly staff, great waiters, good food and great drinks. Will return!
Great seating with good service, food was AWESOME and drinks were tasty!
