   Shrivelled prawn and no sauce on all three prawn cocktails we ordered, main meals were about ok but chips were served very salty. Table staff were continually asking you if you needed anything or were ready to order even before wine had been served. Looked like they wanted us to order drinks before any service.

   Hi David , .Prawn cocktail is by far our most popular starter with many guests giving it great feedback sorry that we got it wrong on this occasion.    Pre theatre menu choices were good and the food we chose was all very well flavoured. Portion size of main was good but would have benefited from some sides being available especially vegetables. Dessert was exceptional - sticky toffee pudding. Not as busy as we expected on a show night but got very noisy when a table of 14 arrived!

   Food was grand, used groupon Atmosphere could do with being a bit more lively or does it depend on what you looking for a quiet meal or a date night?

   A really lovely meal here. Great, friendly staff. Spacious dining room. Nice views of the river. Quiet background music which means you can actually talk! We booked a groupon deal which was exceptional value. Food was fantastic and the wine included was very nice too. After our meal we went into the bar for cocktails. Very comfortable and again lovely staff and ambience. Will definitely return.

   My friend and I had used a Groupon voucher to have a Pre-Theatre meal. The meal was pre booked for 5.30pm which is the first available slot and the time the Riverside Restaurant and bar opens for service and we were going to a show across town starting at 7pm and relying taxi services which were stretched because it was so busy and had booked our taxi for 6.30pm. We arrived before the restaurant opened to allow ample time to be served and out on time for our taxi. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and shown to our table, but then it all started to go downhill from there. Our orders were taken, and then we were sitting for 30 minutes before our starters arrived, which only gave us 30 minutes to get served our mains and eat, we had to ask for our mains to be brought out while we were still eating our starters. Eating our food was all very rushed, and as it wasn't that busy there, I failed to see why it all took so long. The other issue I had was that we ordered a couple of drinks from the bar and I had to ask for my drink to be replaced because there was a very dirty brownish ring mark around the middle of my glass which at first I hadn't noticed. The waitress aked me what I was drinking (which was Archers and lemonade) and changed it for me but then when I tasted it there was only lemonade in the replacement drink and by this time I had had enough and just wanted to get out so I didn't say anything. I have since looked at the reviews for this restaurant and can see that the manager has responded to many like myself who have complained saying he will make sure to do something about it but it just looks like lip service as many of the issues have not been resolved and customers are still complaining of them. I think if the Riverside Restaurant wants to attract the custom of pre-theatre visitors, they should consider opening earlier to allow time to eat without being rushed.

   Overall our experience in the restaurant was quite good. The food was tasty, ..perhaps not as hot as we would have liked, but there appeared to be an issue with the service, in that we had to wait around half and hour between ordering our main course and it finally arriving.

   Food very good service excellent the wine was not a vintage. Overall very good.
