We dined here for breakfast. Our service was slow. No coffee refills were offered and a carafe wasn't left for us. No servers checked on us. Most of the food took a long time to come out and one of the meals didn't come out for about 15 minutes after everyone else's. The atmosphere of the Sapphire room was like a very sad 80s dance club. Very dark and depressing! There was a band playing live music playing in that room also which was not music I enjoyed, but maybe others would. The main restaurant section in the lobby seemed nice, but definitely request to not sit in the Sapphire room! Pricing was fairly affordable and other people said the buffet was pretty good.
Not what I expected. Dirty, lots a kids and noise and food was just ok. Would not recommend.
Thought we were getting the mother's day brunch but only offered a limited lunch menu so we went to a different restaurant.
It was just ok. The food was ok. Nothing to go back for. We won’t return.
Here’s the problem-we were expecting the fancy ballroom buffet and it turns out this reservation was for the usual buffet and we were seated in the aspen room. The aspen room was a little dull in my opinion. Food was good as usual, but we were very disappointed that we didn’t get the ballroom Mother’s Day brunch, maybe you should be more specific when taking reservations for a holiday??
Great food and a great value. Service by Annie was outstanding.
Saturday Brunch Buffet was excellent. Service was friendly and pleasant despite being understaffed. Will definitely go again.
They were not ready for our party, was not even expecting us. Took 15 minutes to talk to us at the hostess counter. Then 20 minutes before they took our drying order. We were there an hour and a half before they brought out our food... bad experience, will not be going back.
This is a great choice to go for brunch on a Saturday. I like the upscale atmosphere, the food choices, and the service. The food choices used to be even better though, although they are pretty good now. I miss all the pastries they used to have, but other than that, the omelets, prime rib, sausage or bacon, and fruit were great. The smoked salmon platter makes up for anything else missing of course, but I love pastries and would like to see them return in more abundance--however they still have a few small choices left. I do recommend this place for both weekend days. I appreciated the Saturday availability and the music. The harpist is fantastic too, if you catch him on his every other days there.
The service was great, music was great, but if you were sitting right in front of the band it would have been way too loud. We were sitting in the back of the room and it was perfect. The food was pretty good. Brown sugar bacon was my favorite. Prime rib was delicious too. I felt like there was a good selection and my daughter has to eat gluten free and had no problem eating here. Bottomless mimosas were great and our waitress Nicole was so nice and great at always being there to refill our drinks.
Best Buffet in town! Live band; .beautiful, easy listening music to go along with our sumptuous buffet
Great restaurant for a decent price. The waitress was very nice. For a valentines day it was surprisingly pretty open and very fast. Definately would reccomend.
Service was ok but the food really lack in value and taste. We were a group of 8 on Valentine’s, three ordered their $26 ribeye medium rare and all three were serviced a half an inch thick and cooked well done, all three were sent back. Three more came out still only half an in thick and at best cooked medium to medium well. We gave up at that point and just tried to make the best of it. The meatloaf had good flavor but was served thin and a bit dry. The short ribs were good, the salmon was over cooked and the stir fry looked like a side dish when served. The appetizers were decent. First time there, don’t think any of us will return.
It was hard to hear my husband who was sitting right next to me but other then that the food and service was fantastic!
Great value for great food. Quiet subtle seating, close to the table next makes it cozy but not invasive. Beautiful table set up with a quiet austeicly pleasing atmosphere. If you're looking for a near upscale experience without having to pay the price this is a good place to start.
We hadn't been for a while. They have remodeled the kitchen. The food was excellent and they added some delicious bread pudding this time. Annie provided superbly service.
We had the best time ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Buddy Holly impersonator was so amazing...The food exceeded our expectations We had a blast and highly recommend the Riverside Grill . Thank you, The Vanderpools
Riverside Grill is under construction (Jan 2019). Kitchen is still open but they’re seating people in a large outdated conference room - zero ambiance. Both our meals were overcooked. The coating on the almond crusted trout was more like chicken-fried steak. Went to Sapphire Room afterwards - music ok, but caters to the retiree+ crowd so heads up if you’re looking for a hip live music spot, this is not it.
The dining room has temporarily been relocated to a conference room, which I suspect contributed to the service level. That said, given the few number of guests, service should have been better. Would try again after the remodeling is complete.
I made this reservation before I went and saw Elton John. When we arrived the area was under construction which was not communicated when I made the reservation. It smelled of dust. Ambiance in the restaurant area was poor. We left and scrambled to find somewhere else to go at last minute.
Great place for breakfast or brunch buffet - lots of good options available
New Years package
Typical hotel restaurant. So-so food at too-high prices, poor service, and no ambiance whatsoever. My bad for not making New Year's Eve reservations earlier. This was one of the few places left. Now I know why.
Food was mediocre, but service was excellent. Appreciated somewhere to eat on Christmas day.
We really didn't know what to expect. I made a reservation but had to alter it at the last minute. The staff was very accommodating. The music playing laid down a very immediate welcome ambiance. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay and the food was a very good and kept fresh. We will definitely come back.
Saturday brunch! Great food and wonderful service.
We eat at the Riverside Grill only either prior to a show at the Sapphire Room. The convenience factor, along with the fact that the food is adequate for the purpose, overrides dining elsewhere. The service has been spotty, either just fine or sometimes inexplicably slow, even when not very busy. We have had a few dishes that could be called "good," but nothing to write home about. Sorry I can't be more generous with this review, but honesty is the best policy. We have really enjoyed the shows at the Sapphire Room, especially the Boise Jazz Society concerts, so we expect to continue patronizing the Grill as long as we continue to find it adequate for the purpose.
The Roverside Grill was great. Only issue with this visit is that they could not find my OpenTable rez.
We have attended other functions here such as Mothers Day Brunch and it was excellent. This function was only so-so.
We went for Thanksgiving buffet. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The food was great and the buffet also included a variety of dessert choices.
Very disappointed in the food. The best thing was the mashed potatoes! I expected something more upscale for this facility. The dressing was poor - Stove Top would have been better. The meat and fish were okay but nothing special.
I certainly won't go back for a Thanksgiving buffet.
Went for Sunday brunch Buffet I will be doing that every time I travel to Boise
Way too bright of an area for dinner dining. Noise from adjacent bar area was not intrusive. Food was just bland. Had squash soup which was just ok. Also meatloaf was ordered. Was covered in very dark gravy and hints of the gravy being burned. Very disappointed.
Their special Riverside Grill bacon is the best bacon on the planet. Wish I could replicate it at home!
So convenient while staying there. I probably wouldn't drive from somewhere to go back again. But while staying on the property it was great.
Annoying to have to wait so long when reservation is made well ahead of time. Do hotel guests have priority seating?
It was a little rough getting my reservation due to the original one being lost or not written down. But it was handled well. We received a private space with a wonderful waitress/server who took excellent care of us.
I always love when Annie is our Server at Sunday Brunch. She is very attentive, always happy and friendly to everyone. I really like their variety of food, especially the Prime Rib and omlete bar. Prices are great for an all-you-can-eat buffet and unlimited Champagne Brunch. After Brunch we usually head over to the Sand Bar and listen to live music. Great place to spend Saturday/Sunday along the River.
Today I was a little disappointed with the food. Some of the food wasn't as warm as it should be. Also, for some reason they changed the rib roast they serve. Small and dry. But, the omelettes were excellent, as well as the berry covered french toast. As always, Vianna provided exceptional service.
