We have been a few time over the last few years. We normally came by boat for lunch and always have a very pleasant time. Unfortunately this time the service was very poor. We had to wait a long time to get any service. The menu has changed from last years and the selection is very limited. We normally like to site outside but the outside area was not made up. No parasols were up no table was dressed. Disappointingly we sat inside the restaurant which is very noisy. I think we will try money island in the near future to see how they services and menu is like. We were very disappointed with the last visit and lunch and will not be rushing back.

It appears that this restaurant is largely aimed at the discount/voucher/gift market and the menu reflects that. We went as we were given a buyagift voucher and it was clear that the supplements and additional items were aimed at generating maximum additional charges. Which may not be unreasonable but unless you understand this can negatively influence the experience. For example our voucher included a 'champagne cocktail ' and we requested to exchange this for a glass of house white wine. This was refused so we started the meal in a negative frame of mind. This inflexibility makes very little sense, both in negligible cost to the restaurant and the resultant loss of customer goodwill. It just seemed mean spirited and certainly not customer focused. The setting, overlooking the river is beautiful especially in good weather and is worth the trip through a scruffy/ working boat yard. This aspect is its major selling point. The food was well presented and competently produced Overall it was an interesting experience but was very much a production line package. Given the setting it could be so much better

The location is very nice, next to the river however the food is average and the service is extremely slow. We had to ask for everything 3-4 times

Second time of coming to Riverside Brasserie for my father who recommended it from his first visit, so we thought we would join him for his 40th anniversary by buying a voucher for a 3 course meal including a champagne cocktail. Setting is lovely, right on the river thames with boats/barges, some spectacular, some not so, going up an down as you dined outside on the decking area. Think this venue would be preferable on a sunny English afternoon as dining inside looks a little cramped against sitting outside. The set menu choice was good and we all found 3 courses that we fancied. I think on this occasion they were a little short staff as we asked three or four times for some bread to go with our starter, but in the end had to go up and ask inside, and by then, we had almost finished our starter. The are some low seating sofa areas, so as these were free at the end of our meal, we moved to these for our coffee. I think we were lucky in one respect that all the tables were filled for our lunch as it made for a better atmosphere. A couple arrived for the start of the evening service and were sat on their own, although I'm sure other people would be due to arrive as it was a Saturday. I would recommend to others. We tried to find a path over to Monkey Island but that eluded us on this occasion. Looking at all the lovely boats in the marina was good too. Possibly the only other downside was parking, we had to park way back down near the entrance to the marina for my 82 year father to get to. Anyway, thank you Riverside, I'm sure we will be back again.

Good food, the service was just on the slow side... There were quite a few people waiting the tables so couldn't really see what the problem was, maybe it was the kitchen. Nice location and great food though.

I was surprised by the lovely food and friendly staff . It was delightful. Only negative thing is decor little bit dated

What a unique experience! Driving up on a boat, parking at the side, and jumping up onto the walkway where our table was. Lovely staff, excellent food. A great day out
