Rivers, located on the lobby level of The CME Building, is one of the Chicago Loop's most popular restaurants. Rivers offers creative, seasonally changing contemporary American cuisine with influences from around the globe. Rivers is an all occasion venue featuring a relaxed yet upscale dining room & a large outdoor deck for alfresco dining during warm weather months.
Rivers is the perfect place for a business lunch, or for meeting friends after work for happy hour drinks or dinner. It's next-door proximity to the Civic Opera House, as well as all downtown theaters makes Rivers an excellent pre-theatre choice before the show begins. The United Center is also close by & Rivers is an ideal "first stop" for meeting friends for a Bulls or Hawks game. Please note: Rivers Restaurant does not take reservations online for parties larger than 14. Reservations are for Dining Room only. Patio seating is on a first come basis.

The Rivers is always a nice place to have dinner before or after the opera. They have a wonderful selection of dishes and the food and service are always excellent.

We go here often before the opera. They have always been very accommodating and the food has always been great. The menu doesn't seem to change much, though. Looking forward to something new there next time.

Food here is actually really good, as are the drinks. Service was good and fast. We came for a pre-theater drink and snacks and had a great experience. the apps we ordered were all REALLY good - was pleasantly surprised. Would come back!

Bad service. Couldn’t figure out how to get service or a table. No real host. Just a cashier and bartender who ignored us. Finally someone said just table and eventually a server came by.
