River's Edge @ Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel
Great views but that is all it has, it tries be a decadent eatery but fails at it. Ok food not really worth the price. In essence, its a double wide trailer in a deed restricted community.
We were in for NYE from out of state. I expected a little more from a Sheraton restaurant. It was not a celebratory place by any means. More of a utilitarian hotel restaurant. Food was limited, too expensive for the quality and came out cold.
Went there for NYE. It was a hotel lobby cafe area. That’s it. The ambiance was horrible and while we waited to get seated there was no one but the bartender. It was empty. So we left. Wouldn’t come back.
Went for NYE dinner...food was good, service was excellent, and the view of the Tampa riverwalk from the floor to ceiling windows we sat at was awesome!
Limited menu, we all ordered the filet. All were undercooked, rare was raw. Mushroom ragout was nothing but chopped cooked cold mushrooms.
Had Thanksgiving dinner. Just OK, pressed turkey
Great service and beautiful views of the river. Food was very good.
Wife birthday, outstanding service, managing, food and dining experience
Amazing food
Excellent servers
Timely service
Did I mention the food was amazing
Overlooking Riverwalk
We were late making reservations and this hotel restaurant was close by. We have no expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the service, quality of the food and price.
The restaurant was rather slow for a Saturday evening. We got a great table right by the window with a beautiful view of the river. It was a few minutes before anyone came over to take our drink order, and when the server did come over it seemed she did not want to be waiting on us. Food took a while to come out (we had grouper and ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus). When it did come out it was delicious! We waited a bit for drink refills and for our check. While the service was lacking considering the restaurant was no where near full- the meal and ambience was worth it!
The food was not that great. My boyfriend and I went on Valentine's Day and there was a special menu prepared. It was clear all the food had been cooked well in advance and warmed up other than the steak I had ordered, which had very little flavor. I had gotten a salad that came with something that looked like a weird cracker but tasted exactly what I would expect super burnt toast to taste like. Our view of the river was great and the atmosphere was amazing. Relatively quiet. Our server was not overly attentive but was really friendly when she was at our table. The hostess even had a rose for all the guests at the end of dinner on our way out, which was super friendly. The food I would say is definitely overpriced for what it is. I saw another table get the lobster mac and cheese and the portion was really small. Not sure if it was good or not. Did not put a damper on my Valentine's Day dinner. We took a walk immediately following dinner out the restaurants back entrance through the pool area which took us right to the River Walk.
Old restaurant tables and chairs. Limited menu. Service was just ok. View of the riverwalk was good. Hardly anyone there. I don't think I would go back. I would try other restaurants in the area. If you appreciate good service and good food....skip this one.
We were there on New Year's Eve night, so they had a limited menu, which we were not aware of. Sitting by the river was so nice. However, the lighting was quite bright and could have been dimmed for better ambience. The food was okay. I had the lobster ravioli and the sauce tasted a little over done. The bar did not know how to make cocktails that were not on the list. Also, the decor was dated. The chair seats were all torn and stained. My date had the ribeye steak rare, and it came medium rare and a bit on the thin side. We did not complain, as after all it was New Year's Eve and we wanted to have fun.
Although they had a limited New Year’s eve menu, the food was good and it had enough of a selection to make it interesting. The service was fantastic as there was constant attention to our needs.
I was fooled by the reviews, but don't be fooled this is a lobby restaurant at a Sheraton. It might suffice if you need to eat while you're staying here, but this is NOT a destination restaurant. There was no host/hostess for 10 minutes while we stood there. The carpet smelled musty, the food was served cold. The chairs were worn and ripped. The only positive is fun people watching if you're lucky enough to sit at the window.
The food was good, nothing great. Service was good, again nothing great. We were one of only two tables and our server didn’t seem too interested in helping us. I had to have some other staff members come collect the check.
Great place with an awesoe river view. Food was delicious and service was amazing. We will come back ❤
great view, good food but a little pricey for lunch. Great for taking clients and conducting business
The only thing good about this restaurant is view.
There was a large group at the bar not far from our table. They were having a good time, but I would've liked to be farther away from the noise. Next time, I'll know what area to ask for. Great meal & service, though. Thanks!
No chef. Didn’t even get to eat dinner. Set a 5:15 dinner time because we had a show to be at for 7:00 pm. They wouldn’t seat us. One bartender overwhelmed. I have never been to a worse restaurant at a Marriott property.
I liked the location and the river's view. The food was fine.
Great place to have a nice casual dinner overlooking the river.
Mother’s Day
Service was extremely slow and the food came out cold lacking any kind of flavor as far as the sides. The main dishes were okay overall and it was way too cold.
we receive. It was not even a busy night and it was for a celebration so it was quite disappointing. There are many other highly rated restaurants in the area and I suggest looking around before making this your final reservations.
the filet mignon was the best!! the view was wonderful and service was great!!
Got to restaurant and then found out was closed for private dinner. Asked management for suggestions on other restaurants and they offered free shuttle ride. But then the shuttle was not running either. Eventually just went to Marriott’s Waterside Grill via Uber. Amazing service, food, and view. Would highly recommend Waterside!
We had no plans for Thanksgiving so we found this spot on Open Table. It is a very nice location, if you sit outside you are on a lovely patio overlooking the Tampa River, beautiful at night. I was disappointed that their turkey dinner was priced at a whopping $38.00 pp, a bit much for turkey, potatoes, vegs and dessert. So both my husband and I ordered off the menu: duck and sea bass. The food was very good and we saved more than $10.00 a plate by not ordering the turkey meal. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. We would go back.
Restaurant is by the Riverwalk but unfortunately its food is too salty. I don’t like to waste food but just could have only a few bites of my soup and my entree since they were both terribly salty.
We were late because of traffic and needed to be out to make a performance - our waiter made sure we got out in time. Food was wonderful and price was excellent for a downtown hotel. Easy walk to the concert venue along the beautiful riverfront - we will go again
First time visiting Tampa. Wanted a restaurant with a wide variety of reasonably priced food. Food was delicious, service was great!
They changed their from Ashley Street Grill to River's Edge. The food was really good 😊
Convenient to anything downtown and a great meal. Really enjoyed our meal and the lobster Mac & Cheese is a must.
It was an ok meal but the a.c. wasn't working so it was hot and stuffy. Service was very slow, but friendly.
Undercooked calamari over seasoned grouper too expensive
Very nice, will come back.
The view of the river was very nice, the service was great, the food was acceptable. However, it was WAY overpriced.
Lobster Mac n Cheese is fabulous! And the burgers are wonderful - but skip the jalapeño bacon and just get regular if you don't like a lot of spice/heat!!
The entire staff were very nice and friendly!! To our surprise we were treated to two complimentary entrees. We were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and that was a great surprise.
