Food was incredible and the atmosphere is great. They also have a great beer selection.
Staff was very friendly , the food was good . Seated right away ( but had reservation) definitely will be going there again
We had a 7pm reservation for a party of 6 and still waiting an additional 45 minutes to be seated, the hostess had no idea what was going on, then once seated an additional hour before receiving our food, asked our waitress and she just kept saying the kitchen was very busy. Ordered my son a grilled cheese which was burnt, I ordered the Mac n cheese with chicken and it was dry. Another member of our table ordered the seafood stew which was over cooked seafood with tomato sauce, someone ordered the shrimp kabob which was over spiced to the point it was inedible. The steak tips with shrimp presented raw shrimp (not grilled), out of all of us only one dish was good the pork chop. Overall I would not recommend unless you have plenty of time to waste waiting around.
This was our second time we had been there. We went there when it first opened. Food was great, and also the drinks were great. Will be dining there again real soon.
Our server Casey was AMAZING - attentive, energetic, and was happy to recommend all of her favorites on the menu. The margarita flights were some of the best I’ve ever had…wish I could have stayed all day sampling every flavor. The bacon grilled cheese was good. I wanted the brisket but they were out…I think a juicier meat would have made the sandwich excellent. Overall had a wonderful time with a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time and can’t wait to return !
I went here for brunch with my bestie and we were beyond impressed. It is set up so beautifully inside, such a nice and comfortable atmosphere, food was delicious and the service was amazing! The flight of mimosas was also delicious. We can’t wait to go back!
The turkey tips were excellent. Garlic knots and marinara were very tasty, fun new take on the bread basket. And the gluten-free chocolate cake was to die for!
Our first visit to this restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves & thought the ambiance was very nice. The service was excellent & the food was good.
Our server (I'm sorry, I don't recall her name) was excellent
First time was just OK. Beer selection is good. Margaritas flights were super watered down and tasted like different flavors of cough medicine. Food was OK. Got the fish tacos and there was more slaw than fish. Flavor was good generally but there was just so much slaw. My wife got scallops which were huge but we’re pretty sure they weren’t fully cooked because my wife got a bit sick that evening. Waitress was good, food was OK, pricing was acceptable for the type and selection of food, but overall I have no driving desire to go back. Maybe in a year when they are a bit more settled?
Both fish dishes were over cooked.
Everything else was good.
Food and service were great, Shannon was exceptional. But unfortunately the temperature of the restaurant was so hot we couldn't finish our meal.
Was a hot day - sat outside on table with umbrella - kept us nice & cool. Looking forward to coming back on a summer evening when fire pit is lit - overlooks the Weir River. Our waitress was excellent!
Awesome experience !
My favorite place to eat. Love to meet friends for drinks and appetizers here. Great friendly atmosphere.
Good take on pub food and seafood. Great selection of beers/wine/margaritas
The food was amazing!! Loved the margarita flight.
I ate on the deck in one of the high tops. Relaxing dinner by the river!
Started off with a Margherita Flight, (Blood Orange, Pomegranate, Black Berry, Regular). They were smaller then I thought they would be but decent, the Blackberry being my favorite.
Got a the Cast Iron Mac & Cheese plain. I was disappointed in that. It was elbows with a small amount of cheese and dry with no taste. They need to be creamier with a stronger tasting cheese and flavor. However, my friend got it with lobster and the lobster portion was very good.
Got the Turkey Tips with the Broccoli Ceasar and Mashed Potatoes which were all very good.
Other food people got in my party was the Surf n Turf Filet, very good. Parm Crusted Chix, not good, Salmon, good, Asparagus as a side horrible, they just steam it so its hard and tasteless.
Service was a little slow but the server was literally the sweetest kid ever! Food was awesome as usual... burger was a little overdone (asked for medium, came out well done) but still very tasty. Drinks were phenomenal! Their margarita flights are the bomb!
Had a reservation for 1:30 and was seated right away. We placed our order and literally didn’t get our food until 2:30. We waited over an hour just for the food.
As far as the food was concerned I ordered a river house burger cooked medium. I received a very plain looking, dry burger. It was not cooked medium, it was well done. I felt bad for the waitress as it wasn’t her fault.
Personally I will not be going back there.
Great place! Went for brunch and would highly recommend!
Cannot wait to go back, everything was perfect, from atmosphere to food to service, just perfect. And the selection of flights is awesome, beer flights, sangria flights, margarita flights, wine flights, and mimosa flights!
The feel of the place was the best thing about the visit. Food was good. Probably won’t be back again.
I was looking forward to the strip steak smothered in blue cheese and onions that I had last time but, it was no longer on the menu. Overall the food was great and the mixed drinks were just ok. That being said, this place is still definitely in the rotation.
Overall was good! The only issue was that I had reservations, and after 15 minutes past my reservation, I asked why was it taking so long; the young man (host) confessed that he overbooked and asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar or would be another twenty minutes for a table... But they didn't even offer us a drink or appetizer at the house!
Great brunch! First time to river house and we will be back! Cool vibe, great fresh menu.
We've been waiting for the end of the pandemic so that we could try the Riverhouse. The food was very good but the service left us wanting. To start, we didn't get the wine that we ordered. We got a cheaper brand but were charged for the more expensive wine that we ordered. We had to ask for bread when it was apparent that every table around us had bread. Finally, the bread, our appetizers and our main courses were delivered within 5 minutes of each other. With a plethora of good restaurants around, we won't be wasting our time again on Riverhouse, sad to say. The restaurant has such good potential but until the staff gets an upgrade they will suffer from a dearth of repeat business.
Meal and service are great!
The place had great atmosphere but I was very disappointed with my filet mignon it was dry and had no flavor I had to add a lot of salt. I asked for medium rare and it was medium. The vegetables were a bit undercooked and on the cold side and served. The service wasn’t as professional as I would have hoped but friendly.. over all I would go back there again but not to have dinner it would be a great place to have a couple drinks and appetizers.
Love trying new places and the Riverhouse didn't disappoint. Nachos with Brisket, pickled onions, barbecue sauce, olives and fresh romaine. It's a meal for two. Marguerita sampler (4 different flavors of your choosing) made everything nice. Chicken wings were excellent as well. Waitress was great and very friendly. Can't wait to go back with a group of friends.
The Riverhouse is a beautiful one of a kind restaurant with lovely views of the Taunton River from either the restaurant or the new patio. They have just refreshed their menu for summer, so there are many new items to try. They have added many gluten free options as well. We started with their antipasto for 2, served in toasted parmesan cheese bowls! It was wonderful, and very filling. We ended up taking home their summer strawberry salad with mixed greens, goat cheese and walnuts. Service at the bar was on point, and the owner/general manager Cheryl is always available to visit.
It is on our favorite restaurant rotation.
Great dinner, excellent service, fun atmosphere!!
We’ve been here a few times prior to this visit and always have had a good experience. Unfortunately, this latest trip was pretty awful.
The service was slow, both on food coming out of the kitchen and from our server. The pork chop was extremely salty and my wife couldn’t eat. I had a side of corn on the cob with my meal and I didn’t even want to touch it (best way to describe it - it was so shriveled up that it looked like it was already eaten by someone and they tried to reuse it!).
All that being said, we were still willing to stay for dessert and an after dinner drink, but our server was more interested in chatting with another table. We literally waited 20 minutes before she came back to see us. We decided to bail.
Very disappointed that our anniversary dinner went this way...
RiverHouse has done a nice job with revitalizing the building and adding value to the River. However, I thought the food was good but just not memorable. Cocktail pricing is high.
The food was OK, the special Buffalo chicken dip was excellent, my husband had the ribeye and it had good flavor but the meat quality was not great definitely more on the chewy side. I had the surf & turf scampi the shrimp was delicious the filet was very stringy and chewy for filet and I got it medium so it wasn’t overcooked again just a low quality piece of meat. The best part of our $100 meal was the dip and my margarita flight. The drink menu was very expansive and all 4 margaritas in my flight were amazing. It took 3 weeks to get a Saturday night reservation and I didn’t think it was worth the wait, the waitress never brought our bread and we had to continually flag her down for drink refills for my seltzer and soda. Probably will try again just to see if it was an off night but very pricey for just OK food nothing was bad but for such a small menu offering the food needs to be really good!
It was the first night for our waitress and she did an outstanding job.
My second time and enjoyed it just as much as my first time
