River Vine Cafe
The menu by John Ash & Co. restaurant Executive Chef Tom Schmidt showcases seasonal foods and produce from local sources, including the inn’s very own gardens.
The elegantly-rustic café features a circular dining room with expansive windows that open onto beautiful vineyards and gardens; a rock fireplace and wood ceiling beams that bring natural elements to create an inviting, warm, and comfortable ambiance; and custom iron ceiling light fixtures and walls sconces that add notes of elegance and grace. The café provides an array of seating options indoors and out, including quaint, smaller dining areas for intimate duos, as well as a private room for up to 80 guests for meetings or special events.
We had a lovely brunch today. Bobby the manager greeted us and had us wait while he checked to see if our table was ready. The dining room was fairly busy, but our waiter checked with us immediately. I ordered a latte and my husband a glass of wine plus the beignets. They were perfectly presented with chocolate sauce and were delicious. I ordered a spinach & mushroom omelette with bacon. A very generous portion and tasty. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich. It was also a large portion and very good.
The dining room is small, so it tends to be quite energetic when tables are filled. River Vine Cafe is a perfect restaurant for lunch. We will be back.
This is definitely my favorite breakfast spot! The staff if friendly, the service is spot on, the food is fantastic! You should sell packages of those starter scones! :-)
Great food and service! Large group of us and everyone loved it! Love this property too.
We've had almost everything on the menu and food is fresh, tasty, and cooked to perfection.
River Vine Cafe is our favorite breakfast/lunch/brunch spot in all of Napa and Sonoma.
It is beautiful, warm, and inviting. ALL of the employees are highly engaged and attentive.
Bobby makes the place, for sure! He remembers details and always acts as if you are the only party on the planet...he is brilliant in his work. We now say, "let's go see Bobby", versus "let's go to River Vine Cafe".
They serve a perfect mini scone as their welcome when you are seated. The coffee is always hot and fresh. The menu is diverse: easy to dine here as a vegan or gluten free individual. The kitchen will customize anything.
This is a place to relax and enjoy each delectable moment. Start with the Beignets: they are simply divine and the chicory chocolate sauce is perfection!
Everything here is so wonderful. If you can't decide, all of the staff are well versed and can help you decide.
If the weather cooperates, dine al fresco on the beautiful patio.
We are lucky to have such a thoughtful and delightful spot in Santa Rosa.
You will feel like you are in an oasis, although Vintners is just off the highway!
I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.
We were here on a Sunday morning for my mom’s birthday brunch. We sat outside and it was lovely, service and food were fantastic!
This was a return brunch. Everything is perfect for a Wine Country breakfast, brunch or lunch.
This is vibrant social spot in the heart of Vintners Inn. The food and service were exceptional. I would highly recommend.
Bobby who greeted up was very polite and friendly. Our waiter Justin had serviced us last Sunday as well, was excellent and helpful with our question.
Food was excellent, hot and very quick out of the kitchen.
Outstanding service, gorgeous setting and delicious food! We enjoyed a stroll on the beautiful grounds after our Sunday brunch.
I like the vegan options of the menu entrees. The outside seating made for wine country charm and romance
They’re open until 2, so they serve breakfast and lunch until that time. The food was just delicious, but the setting is fabulous especially if you have the chance to sit in the patio area. The grounds are beautiful. Would highly recommend.
Delicious food and outstanding service. Favourite brunch place.
It was great! The food was delicious and the service was awesome. Would definitely come back again!
I love eating at the River Vine Cafe . It is beautiful and the food is great. The only problem is that service is slow. It takes a long time to get your food and pay your bill when you are done.
At noon their outside seating was full with only inside available. It was cold inside as there were not many diners inside. The waiter did a good job, but the beef patty of the burger tasted “old”. We brought it to the waiter’s attention, but he took no action once we declined a replacement. When we called the manager over, she was more interested to let the kitchen know & removed the item from our bill. We were not looking for the credit, but the wait staff should be better trained to alert the manager & kitchen.
Lovely in every way. Outdoor chairs are too low for table, but otherwise perfect.
This was my second time there , it is one of the finest dining places in Sonoma County. Both times the service & food were excellent. The menu had food for my vegan & gluten free friends.
Beautiful outside setting on the patio. Superb service. Excellent breakfast and lunch.
The food is so incredible here
Weekend breakfast until 2
Very relaxing experience. The service was excellent
The guy at the front desk Bobby has such a warm personality. He went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. We truly appreciate his service and will be back!
beautiful outdoor seating area. Serves were extremely attentive without being pesty. Food was very very good, portion size was good We will be back
The food is always good here!
Excellent service, too!
The River Vine Café is on the lovely John Ash property. I have had lunch there many times and have always had a delightful experience. Dress casually, or dress up a bit, the staff is waiting to serve you!
Very attractive - and peaceful - environment. Friendly staff, diverse menu. A place in which to linger and enjoy.
Great service and delicious food
Our Wine Country favorite for breakfast and lunch!
My friend and I had an enjoyable, delicious brunch. The quality of the food was excellent and the service was particularly noteworthy. Thank you Elmer and Bobby. Highly recommend!
Simply awful experience at this overpriced restaurant. They refused us service even with an open table reservation because we had our well behaved small dog who is 12 lbs and we wanted to seat outside where dogs are allowed. We have brought our dog here in the past and there was no issue seating outside. The front desk woman was extremely rude and arrogant and spoke to us in a awful tone and asked us to leave!!!
We will never recommend this restaurant to anyone and will never be back again. The woman who spoke rudely to us should be fired
Bright my cousin for breakfast she was visiting from Southern Ca. We had out door seating and enjoyed the views. Put this on places to come back on her next visit.
Food was about average, a little too salt but the ambience was great!
Aside from the very high noise level the experience was very good: food delicious, service excellent and value very good. If they distributed the patrons evenly between the two dining areas it might have decreased the volume of the noise as it was clear that most patrons were there to converse with their friends/relatives.
Beautiful quiet setting with wonderful food. The service was wonderful too.
Expensive yet mediocre. I was disappointed with the quality of the food.
Everyone was very professional. The restaurant is very nice and the waitress was great and the gentleman at the front desk was super attentive. My brother loved his Ruben sandwich and I had the fish taco and it wasnt my favorite. We sat by the door to the back patio and they need to either keep it open all the time or have a door stopper of some kind. With going in and out the door slammed closed probably 40 times during our lunch so that was unfortunate. I will definitely go back and order something different and wont sit by the back door.
We ate out on the patio....overlooking the lovely garden!
This is the spot for a peaceful luncheon with friends. You can actually hear each other speaking while you eat beautifully prepared food from an extensive menu. This is the sort of place that used to be common, is now rare, and worthwhile choosing.
I've reviewed this previously. It's one of our favorite Wine Country restaurants for breakfast and lunch.
