River Vine Cafe
The menu by John Ash & Co. restaurant Executive Chef Tom Schmidt showcases seasonal foods and produce from local sources, including the inn’s very own gardens.
The elegantly-rustic café features a circular dining room with expansive windows that open onto beautiful vineyards and gardens; a rock fireplace and wood ceiling beams that bring natural elements to create an inviting, warm, and comfortable ambiance; and custom iron ceiling light fixtures and walls sconces that add notes of elegance and grace. The café provides an array of seating options indoors and out, including quaint, smaller dining areas for intimate duos, as well as a private room for up to 80 guests for meetings or special events.
Went for lunch service was slow and when we asked for bread and butter we got two slices of toast no butter. There was also a language barrier where the wait staff had a marginal grasp of English. I expect way more from vintners inn. Not going back ever!
This is a hidden gem that just happens to be less than 10 minutes from our home. Lucky us! The food is delicious, fresh, perfectly prepared and presented. The wait staff has always been just right. Not too present and always there when you needed something. The answer is always, "of course".
A great place to have brunch with friends. Bobby always ensures excellent service.
We ate outside and it was lovely. Food was excellent and ambiance was perfect!
Food, Service and Value are much better than the average restaurant in the county. Pleasant grounds to walk before or after a meal
The best avocado toast ever!
Staff was great!!! And so was the food!
Our son proposed to his soon-to-be bride at Vintners Inn 2 years ago; they then spent their wedding night at Vintners Inn a year ago and yesterday we brought them and their new baby daughter to enjoy Sunday brunch at the new River Vine Cafe. It was perfect!
Nice place to eat. Beautiful dining rooms, great service. Menu could stand alittle shake up but still very good overall.
This was our third visit, and we consider it a very special occasion place.
Loved our meal! Beautiful gardens, great coffee! Service was very nice
Two of us had fish tacos and they were very wet and disappointing. The other had a Caesar salad and , also, disappointing. Very little dressing and the croutons so small and they looked and tasted like boxed. presentation poor
This place was amazing!!!
Location is easy. I ordered a Cobb salad with no additions and a balsamic dressing in the side. The salad was so dull with only lettuce bacon and avocado. My side of balsamic was not... only oil and red wine vinegar. No cheese. Should have ordered the additional chicken. However everything was fresh which was a plus! There were other menu choices I could have made
Best breakfast and service in Santa Rosa. It’s also a perfect time to walk around the property and see the tulips afterward.
A customer started using his Phone for a LONG business call in a very loud voice disturbing other diners. Management did not do anything about this discourteousness to other guests.
Outstanding eggs Benedict with wonderful Meyer lemon hollandaise. Yummy scones too 👍
Brunch was good. Loved the Bloody Mary with bacon! Crab cakes were really good. Lots of crab with little breading and no grease.
Reservations for lunch weekday I recommend, they were a packed house on a Thursday at noon.
Everything was perfect except the noice level in the dinning area was loud. I think sitting outside in the warmer months would be lovely looking over the vineyard.
We have eaten at a John Ash a number of times, but wanted to try the cafe for brunch. The dining room manager, Bobby, gave us a choice of tables in the main dining room. It was very loud and difficult to have a conversation. Bobby offered to move us to a quieter place in the cafe. He was so considerate and accommodating.
We ordered wine and a Bellini to enjoy with the delicious beignets. I decided on the lemon ricotta pancakes and my husband had the eggs Benedict. Both were excellent and the service excellent. We definitely will return and try different menu options.
I would absolutely recommend River Vine Cafe. The front desk was very helpful and offered to store our friend's luggage. The wait staff was friendly and professional.....attentive to our needs yet not hovering. The food was so delicious...they served a breakfast "amuse bouche" of scone as a lovely touch. And I liked the fact that they have a dress code of dressy casual. It's an elegant setting and dressing nicely only elevates the occasion. We'll be back.
I went to River Vine for the first time for brunch to celebrate my birthday. We got beignets to start-yum, and then ordered the eggs Benedict which were delicious. I was happy that they had other milk options other than soy, so my latte was excellent. What ties this all together was the service! Sometimes you end up at a restaurant with good food, but terrible service and it makes the place less memorable. Not the case in our experience. The waiters and bussers were all so on it, but not in a way that made you feel like you had to rush out of there. They checked in just enough, but didn’t overdue it. They all looked well put together and clean, which is nice when handling the food you are about to consume. The service was great! And I was brought a birthday treat which was a really thoughtful touch. The dining room is clean, with a modern French touch and comfortable temperature. I had a wonderful time and will be back!
Great place for brunch and lunch food. Prices reasonable and atmosphere super nice. Great place!!
A great spot for a wonderful lunch. Decor is very pleasing. Lots of menu choices. The 3 of us picked different items and we all thought our selections were delicious. A gem of a place for sure. Can’t wait to go again.
Generous portions. Oh, those complimentary scones!
This was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time. From the Egg's Benedict to the pancakes, everything was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Tasty, well prepared food and reasonable price point. Great menu with lots to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Professional and attentive service. You can tell they are in the hospitality business -feels upscale yet it's a casual, small place.
The Eggs Benedict are awesome - all three types ordered in our party. Great weekend retreat!
Celebrating a friend's soon-to-be baby. A secret gem of a restaurant that has a touch of class, good food and good service.
Great place to have a leisurely and special luncheon. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and service and the ambiance.
The food was very good...burger cooked to perfection. The service was excellent! The ambiance is nothing special but very nice and the tables are not so close to each other. Very nice! I would definitely go back!
Best lemony, fluffy Eggs Benedict ever, wonderful potatoes. And I'm embarrassed to say, finished with a couple of delicious beignet. Great service. Highly recommend!
Outstanding breakfast! Everything was perfect. We celebrated grandpas birthday with our toddlers. Great service and delicious food. Congratulations!
We’ve been to River Vine 3-4 times and have not been disappointed. Soon after you’re seated, you receive a wonderful scone. Kudos to the chef who really knows how to do the perfect egg on the Eggs Benedict. The food has always been spot on. The Bloody Mary’s are awesome as well. Very nice setting, good food and nice staff. We’ll be back and you should go try it too.
Another wonderful brunch at River Vine! We do an annual New Years Day brunch with five best girlfriends and this has become our go-to spot. Lovely decor, excellent service and the food is so good and well presented. We also love that RV serves a little pre-meal scone or muffin with their delicious house made jam. Just a nice touch. We all had something different and everyone loved their meal. We also shared a butterscotch pudding that was incredibly delicious. Plenty of parking, too. You cannot beat this place!
Nice setting but would have liked to sit further away from the door (it was cool outside!). Perhaps having three young boys with our group prompted this seating???
We came on New Year's Eve for lunch and it was quiet with excellent service and food. The crab cakes and mushroom ravioli were perfect for the occasion and just the right sized portions. Excellent Expresso rounded out the lunch with a shared piece of carrot cake among three of us. We will definitely return!
Fabulous food and service, even on Christmas Day.
The waitress was great, super. We were all very happy with my daughters 19th birthday brunch.
Great, thank you Lisa
