River Vine Cafe
The menu by John Ash & Co. restaurant Executive Chef Tom Schmidt showcases seasonal foods and produce from local sources, including the inn’s very own gardens.
The elegantly-rustic café features a circular dining room with expansive windows that open onto beautiful vineyards and gardens; a rock fireplace and wood ceiling beams that bring natural elements to create an inviting, warm, and comfortable ambiance; and custom iron ceiling light fixtures and walls sconces that add notes of elegance and grace. The café provides an array of seating options indoors and out, including quaint, smaller dining areas for intimate duos, as well as a private room for up to 80 guests for meetings or special events.
The food is always superb!
We have been here twice before and enjoyed it, especially the outdoor table eating area. Lovely place!
Just a little disappointed this time, when we came for Sunday brunch and brought a friend. The omelets were just okay...not much flavor nor nearly enough filling of spinach and mushrooms.
It was a special friend and we wanted her to enjoy her meal, but we kinda left feeling like it just wasn't up to par. More seasonings please! We will come again and hope for another try, since the ambiance is very nice and the grounds are beautiful. The service was great and the attending waiter was very professional and attentive.
Nice to have this dining place close to the LB Center for the Arts for pre and post show meals.
Love this place! Great food, great service! Eggs Benedict were amazing!
We ate here twice over a weekend stay. Friendlyservice and yummy breakfast on both mornings
Your manager Bobby always does a great job for me and mu guests.
Suggest your Lemon pancakes be improved. Would like them to have more of a lemon taste which was not the case last Sunday.
We were seated in the smaller quiet room, the larger room had a better garden view,
And would suite livelier and perhaps younger set. Eggs benedict with salmon and spinach
Was excellent. the muffin was light and went well with the salmon. The eggs were done to
my liking runny yolks but quite film white, not watery at all. The sauce was light
Went with a girlfriend for lunch before a show at LBC. My girlfriend ordered a Bellini and Shrimp Louis salad which looked great and she raved about it. I had a Prosecco and the Grilled Vegetable Wrap which came with a side salad. It was a miss for me as it seemed to be prepared way in advance as the tortilla was smooshy and the wraps were ice cold as in refrigerated. Salad was delicious. I have been here before and will go again.
Everything was great.
We had breakfast and the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. This cafe has a beautiful and relaxing location and the food and the service make for an amazing breakfast, brunch or lunch. I highly recommend the River Vine Cafe.
everyone was very accomodating and nice. went at a slow time so had pick of tables and were able to be in the fireplace room where it was much quieter. thanks for having an option!
the choices on the menu were varied and interesting. while the flavors were good, unfortunately the plating left much to be desired. lacked garnish and really just looked like the items were plunked down on the plate. i had the soup and cheese sandwich. the soup DID have a spring of something green in it (parsley i think) and a few croutons, but the sandwich was very sloppily made and when i lifted up the bottom half, it was a mess - two pieces of bread that were off kilter and not together. flavor was ok as was the soup, but truly no depth of flavor. the omelet seemed dry. the only thing that really looked good was the small salad and the fish tacos.
Food was delicious and the staff was unbelievably attentive. Great experience, would recommend and hope to go back soon.
Food is good and the service is great. Beautiful location.
Great food. Super staff!!!
But really, really loud inside.
Corned beef hash delicious, lox platter was good except for the bagel which was doughy. Had to ask for water 4 times. Gave you a biscotti comp to start with delicious cherry preserve. Beautiful setting
Have been here several times, and have never failed to enjoy everything about it. The specials are always different and very good. The staff consistently professional and very accommodating to your wishes regarding any changes to your food choices. Not to mention the ambience — the cafe itself is charming but the entire Vintners Inn area is just beautiful. It’s always a delightful way to spend an hour or two. Wish it stayed open just a little later, though.
I had one of my favorite brunch items of lemon ricotta pancakes. they were delicious.
River Vine Cafe has become our favorite spot for Sunday breakfast. Great service and the manager makes a special effort to make sure we are satisfied with the table location.
Food was good and staff very friendly and accommodating.
Fabulous place for lunch! Loved sitting outside. Beautiful setting.
Excellent food from excellent ingredients. Lovely setting. Price was very reasonable for the quality.
High marks for the manager who did everything he could to find us a suitable table. We have visited this restaurant a half dozen times and the food is always very good. Great for families.
We invited two other couples who include former work associates, to celebrate our plans to move to southern California. Our server was very helpful with the menu, and he can pour sparkling wine better than anyone else I have ever seen!
Great brunch with family.
Overall it was a nice experience. When the cafe is full inside it can be noisy. Had it been warmer, we would have sat outside.
The setting is pretty, and the service was very good. The food was below par for Sonoma County – boring salad, greasy sandwich. The best thing our group ordered was the mac & cheese . We had planned to dine outside, but the groundskeepers were blowing and mowing and the noise was unpleasant, so we decided to eat inside. Overall I was disappointed with this lunch experience, however the breakfast menu looked good and I may give it one more try.
Waiter service was amazing, very attentive and polite. Extremely pleasant. We ate outside and the environment was lovely and calming. Will definitely come back soon for brunch again!
Sad to say the food did not live up to the spectacular setting today:(
The Shrimp Louie was disappointing, tomatoes were not fresh, lettuce was questionable, the shrimp were sparse and the dressing seemed to be mayonnaise and catsup. It was covered with crumbled hard boiled egg that seemed designed to conceal what was lacking underneath.
My friend ordered a veggie burger and checked with the server to be sure vegetables in burger were fresh.
She was assured they were, and when it came she was served a veggie sandwich instead of a burger. She enjoyed it anyway and did not point this out to server.
We also ordered Kombucha which the menus says is made on site. We were informed that should be “taken off the menu” because they do not make it there.
I love the setting and would like to return for brunch in a weekend, maybe it was just an off day?
Excellent as ever! The wait staff is always very friendly and professional.
This is our new go-to place in Santa Rosa for breakfast and lunch.
This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it and will return again. The only downside was that it was crowded and therefore very noisy. The service was a bit slow but we were enjoying conversation with visitors and were in no hurry.
Very satisfied. Would fo back.
The food was excellent. Really enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful gardens.
We will definitely return!
Lovely spot for a quaint breakfast. The service was quick and super friendly. The food options were good and my food was yummy! The view was also lovely. I would definitely return!
Great brunch spot! We went on a Sunday and ordered off the brunch menu. There were 4 of us and all of us really enjoyed it. Food was very good. Wait staff were friendly and price was reasonable.
This spot is a "hidden gem" for breakfast, lunch or brunch. The patio is gorgeous, and you can have a conversation with your dining companions. They brought us a little scone to nibble on while we waited for our meals. Service is impeccable as well.
My friend and I sat outside. It was lovely. We felt like we had been swept away to a garden in Tuscany. Five star surroundings and service at a bery affordable price. The menu is limited but that’s fine with us. I will absolutely return.
Very good overall but a bit loud when seated inside with sound bouncing off all of the hard surfaces inside. Made it a little hard to have a conversation.
Beautiful setting along with exceptional service. The River Vine Cafe is perfect for a relaxing afternoon with family and friends!
The food was very, very good. The service is outstanding. It's a lovely, quiet place to have a meal with a very nice interior and excellent outdoor seating. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Our latest OpenTable discovery. Delightful Cafe with great food, low key and very reasonablely priced considering where it is (Vintner’s Inn). We’ll be back.
Although we have gone many times to John Ash, we had never had the pleasure of dining here. We will definitely return!
