In the South, there’s an intimate connection between the table and the land. Our fertile soil feeds corn and cattle. The palmettos provide cover for quail and game. And the ocean provides its bounty with the incoming tide. The River House is a culinary celebration of this relationship and our professed love for the land and waters of the Lowcountry.

River House does have a dressy casual dress code consisting of no shorts, flip flops, baseball hats or tank tops in the dining room for the gentlemen. Comparable attire for the ladies. Children under 16 are exempt. We do offer complimentary pants to guests that may need them.

River House corkage policy is a maximum of 3 bottles per reservation without management consent at $35 per bottle.
River House has a 24-hour cancellation and No-Show Policy consisting of $25 per person plus a 18% SVC Charge.

    Service was great, food was great, however I was very displeased with the cost of a glass of wine, for $75 without being informed prior to accepting the recommendation. Be aware of the recommendation for a glass of wine, especially if one is a novice wine drinker.

    Everything you would want for a beautiful dining experience… is here. The food was elevated by Clyde - who was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and assisted us throughout the evening. The restaurant was equally matched by the patrons, who were respectful of the dress code and cast a moderate noise level that made it easy to talk at our table. It’s an overall lovely dining establishment that makes you happy to dress up and take in the gorgeous holiday season!

    Open Table has the address incorrect for the River House. We followed the 476 Mt. Pelia address with our GPS and it took you to an employee lot and warehouse area. The correct address is 1 Village Square which is a mile away. It is very dark back in the Bluff so you really need to pay attention to signage. We received two emails about the dress code which we respected 100%. Apparently the other diners did not as we saw at least three people wearing flannel shirts and jeans. We arrived early to check out the speakeasy Hush, located in the basement of the River House. It was a very cool vibe with great bartenders! Highly recommend for before or after dinner drinks. The restaurant is beautiful but the lighting is too bright for my liking in a high end restaurant setting. It is also extremely loud in the main dining room which made it hard to talk across the table. The other tables in the outer perimeter seemed to be more tucked away and not as exposed to the noise. The food was very good not great and portions were very small for the prices. We started with splitting the wedge salad which was excellent but very small portions even with splitting it. My husband had the filet which was exceptionally cooked and very tasty. I had the scallops which were also very good. We had a side of glazed carrots which were mediocre. Service was good and server attentive. Overall a good dining experience but not what I was expecting for the prices and the high end hype of Palmetto Bluff. The speakeasy Hush was the best part of the evening!

We do try to keep the dress code approachable in nature only asking that gentlemen refrain from shorts and open toed shoes while in the dining room and comparable attire for the ladies.     Our experience was super....We would definetly return. My NY strip may have been the best that I have ever had. Dessert was phenominal as well. My wife and I enjoyed our time and will share with others that it is a must to go visit.

    Went to Cocktails with Connor. He was very knowledgeable and Flip cocktail was quite interesting - never had one. Small servings of each serving. Should have recipe cards for attendees. Needs an assistant to help manage the program.

    Love, love, love the River House! We’ve eaten there several times but the Fall menu is amazing! Wagyu oysters, bbq duck, burrata and apple salad, dry aged NY strip and the tomahawk pork chop were so, so good. Our server, Teddy, is off the charts as well. Service is always top notch - Teddy, Noel, Clyde - each one provides exceptional service and the executive chef truly cares about the food he’s serving. Can’t wait to go back!

    We dined in the glass veranda and it was just as pictured . Southern charm and watched the sun going down with wonderful cocktails and delish foods. Such a treat!

    We loved the ambiance, the high ceilings, the walls of windows with nature & river views, the slow pace of our meal, the surprises (amuse bouche, peach bread) and mostly our wonderful server, Benny. He was the perfect blend of upbeat personality and professionalism. Our dinners (scallops and a lobster tail) were delicious, as was the crab cake appetizer. The hostesses were also extremely friendly, and the redhead young woman even suggested where to eat in Savannah, where we were headed next. (The Vault was a great find - thank you!) We got complimentary anniversary and birthday desserts, as we were celebrating both. My sole complaint: After making our reservation, I was disappointed to see that River House serves "cruetly" (veal and foie gras); I usually avoid restaurants who serve those items. With chefs as talented as this, do you really need to serve them?

    Great to have a truly upscale dining experience in Bluffton. The food was great except for our Risotto which under delivered, however our service was exceptional. Teddy was one of the best servers we have had anywhere. Attentive but not overly, present but not hovering - he made the meal a great experience.

    We took a friend out to dinner. The dining experience as a whole was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and not disruptive. The food was very good. We ordered three deserts to share. The Chai ice cream was the best, the chocolate was just as good...... sadly the peach selection was disappointing..... to many mixed flavors and just not a great taste. It would have been better to highlight the peach season with a simple peach crumble or cobbler.

    This is a fine dining restaurant on the highest level. I went there with two friends from Germany and they confirmed that the River House has the standard of a 3-star restaurant in Germany, and there are not many. Besides the fact that it's located in Palmetto Bluff, the outstanding beautiful gated community in Bluffton, you are entering a new world when you walk into the River House. You will be greeted professionally by very friendly people and escorted to your place. The restaurant interior is unintrusive elegant and luxurious. The menu is big enough to find something for everybody and small enough to avoid being overwhelmed. My friends chose different dishes but their favorite was the Shrimp Cocktail, the best they ever had. I had a Steak and added a Bearnaise sauce and it was to die for. The only issue to make it a perfect evening was our server who seemed to be new there and not familiar with this level of restaurant. But I have a new favorite place to go for dinner, in particular for special occasions.

    Fabulous meal! Our server, Bryce, was knowledgeable in wine selection and attentive, the support team was exceptional and the food prefect. If you have Celiac they provide you with fresh baked corn bread and honey butter. Definitely would return.
