In the South, there’s an intimate connection between the table and the land. Our fertile soil feeds corn and cattle. The palmettos provide cover for quail and game. And the ocean provides its bounty with the incoming tide. The River House is a culinary celebration of this relationship and our professed love for the land and waters of the Lowcountry.

River House does have a dressy casual dress code consisting of no shorts, flip flops, baseball hats or tank tops in the dining room for the gentlemen. Comparable attire for the ladies. Children under 16 are exempt. We do offer complimentary pants to guests that may need them.

River House corkage policy is a maximum of 3 bottles per reservation without management consent at $35 per bottle.
River House has a 24-hour cancellation and No-Show Policy consisting of $25 per person plus a 18% SVC Charge.

    Went to Cocktails with Connor. He was very knowledgeable and Flip cocktail was quite interesting - never had one. Small servings of each serving. Should have recipe cards for attendees. Needs an assistant to help manage the program.

    Love, love, love the River House! We’ve eaten there several times but the Fall menu is amazing! Wagyu oysters, bbq duck, burrata and apple salad, dry aged NY strip and the tomahawk pork chop were so, so good. Our server, Teddy, is off the charts as well. Service is always top notch - Teddy, Noel, Clyde - each one provides exceptional service and the executive chef truly cares about the food he’s serving. Can’t wait to go back!

    We loved the ambiance, the high ceilings, the walls of windows with nature & river views, the slow pace of our meal, the surprises (amuse bouche, peach bread) and mostly our wonderful server, Benny. He was the perfect blend of upbeat personality and professionalism. Our dinners (scallops and a lobster tail) were delicious, as was the crab cake appetizer. The hostesses were also extremely friendly, and the redhead young woman even suggested where to eat in Savannah, where we were headed next. (The Vault was a great find - thank you!) We got complimentary anniversary and birthday desserts, as we were celebrating both. My sole complaint: After making our reservation, I was disappointed to see that River House serves "cruetly" (veal and foie gras); I usually avoid restaurants who serve those items. With chefs as talented as this, do you really need to serve them?

    Great to have a truly upscale dining experience in Bluffton. The food was great except for our Risotto which under delivered, however our service was exceptional. Teddy was one of the best servers we have had anywhere. Attentive but not overly, present but not hovering - he made the meal a great experience.

    We took a friend out to dinner. The dining experience as a whole was very good. The wait staff was very attentive and not disruptive. The food was very good. We ordered three deserts to share. The Chai ice cream was the best, the chocolate was just as good...... sadly the peach selection was disappointing..... to many mixed flavors and just not a great taste. It would have been better to highlight the peach season with a simple peach crumble or cobbler.

    This is a fine dining restaurant on the highest level. I went there with two friends from Germany and they confirmed that the River House has the standard of a 3-star restaurant in Germany, and there are not many. Besides the fact that it's located in Palmetto Bluff, the outstanding beautiful gated community in Bluffton, you are entering a new world when you walk into the River House. You will be greeted professionally by very friendly people and escorted to your place. The restaurant interior is unintrusive elegant and luxurious. The menu is big enough to find something for everybody and small enough to avoid being overwhelmed. My friends chose different dishes but their favorite was the Shrimp Cocktail, the best they ever had. I had a Steak and added a Bearnaise sauce and it was to die for. The only issue to make it a perfect evening was our server who seemed to be new there and not familiar with this level of restaurant. But I have a new favorite place to go for dinner, in particular for special occasions.

    Fabulous meal! Our server, Bryce, was knowledgeable in wine selection and attentive, the support team was exceptional and the food prefect. If you have Celiac they provide you with fresh baked corn bread and honey butter. Definitely would return.

    Wonderful experience at the River House. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. But in my opinion service makes or breaks a dining experience. The service here definitely made it. First the food: The amuse bouche set the tone…. A fantastic smoked salmon and roe on cucumber. The rolls and butter… usually not much to speak of… these were magnificent! My husband had the wedge salad and porterhouse and I had the summer greens and wagyu. All were terrific. We ordered warm chocolate cake with salted brown sugar ice cream (early on as it takes a bit to prepare)…YUM! Then came a chefs surprise which …. I missed the description … but it was some form of decadent brownie topped with toasted marshmallow…. Another YUM! Now the service: from the reservation which they accommodated a last minute conflict by getting us in a bit later, to the warm welcome from the hostess, to Bennie and Anshul… a team of wonder servers. Seriously! They were absolutely perfect! Attentive, conversational, well versed in the menu and as professional as any servers we have ever had. A Plus all around! The Bluff needed this fantastic addition! We will be back, requesting Bennie and Anshul!

    Limited menu but it is impeccably executed. They emphasize steaks which I'm sure are excellent, but my humble roast chicken was perfect....crispy skin, moist, with their take on a sauce chasseur ( without tomatoes) and Carolina rice. If they can prepare the ultimate chicken, I'm confident they would ace any fish dish. Alas, they had offered ahi tuna, which considering the variety of great fish we have locally, is a missed opportunity and a shame. The service was excellent. The staff really knows how to monitor the "pace" of a table.
