We are from atlanta, and made reservations here for our first night in boulder. This was such a great spot! So unique and cozy, everyone is so nice and helpful. The food was great and like nothing we’d had before! Loved it.
Sat in a tent outside that smelled like propane. Food looked thrown together, was dry and overcooked. Server was distracted and did an extremely poor job of keeping my table happy. I try not to write bad reviews but I could not keep this one to myself. Not worth the money. Not at all.
Always amazing food. Great ambiance and a great value. We go every time we visit our daughter at school.
Excellent food, good service, and a very nice atmosphere.
This was my first visit, and we were there for a birthday lunch. Scott went above and beyond to make the occasion special. The food was great, the service was impeccable, and the restaurant was adorable!! Very cozy and intimate. I would happily visit again! Thank you for making it special.
It took 20 min for a server to come over, but afterwards everything was flawless. We will return.
The ambiance is very hipster, cute cozy cabin with a modern vibe and very cool bar. The food is quite unique, we had brunch and it was tasty. Would like to see a couple more options on there, maybe some fresh juice tonics and smoothies. Coffee was a bit winey and not my favorite brand, not sure what it was. The place is so cute with all the extra touches. Their brunch cocktails are very unique and tasty and a great price. I will go gin, been there two times already.
Perfect anniversary meal
Extremely noisy. Perhaps turn off music, and add some kind of sound proofing
River and Woods is a lovely restaurant in a cozy setting. The food is very good with balanced flavors.
We absolutely love River and Woods. I made this reservation for my adult kids who are attending CU and for their sister who was visiting from out east. The food they tell me was outstanding, as usual and the service was wonderful. It is a gift they love to receive to go to this very yummy restaurant when they are so far from home.
Had an 11:15 reservation, got there as they opened at 11. We were greeted kindly and with great attentiveness. Our waitress was a little quiet and not as cheerful as the bar tender but still great! The table behind us were very boisterous and it became irritating midway through our meal, besides that the food was great. Plenty of options and made with care. We will definitely be recommending and returning.
It seems odd to put us in an outside tent, even though heated, when there were plenty of open tables inside. There was a cold draft on the floor so we asked to move inside and they did so graciously.
Went for brunch. Son and I had the pastrami Benedict. Very good. My scone was good but quite small for $6. Also had churros with dipping chocolate for dessert. Very good.
Went here with my teenaged son on a Sunday morning. The ambiance was cozy and lovely. We ordered the Bananas foster French toast with turmeric mascarpone cheese and the burrito and decided to split them both. Both were really tasty, but the French toast was good, not amazing. Maybe I just wasnt in the mood for a sweet dish, I dont know ... but the burrito! It was to die for — filling, warm, cheesy sauce. After we split both items, the boy was still hungry, so he downed a second burrito, ha. Bummed to have to order him 2 breakfasts, but he is 16 and a runner, so probably not the fault of portion size. My only disappointment is that they only serve regular coffee — a latte would have hit the spot! Service was terrific and the waitress had lots of great ideas of places for us to see while we were in the area (we are from CA). WOuld definitely hit this place again !
Always great, food and service. Only issue was that our table was not ready when we arrived. However the incredible meal made up for the extended wait time.
Was a rough evening at River. HOUR wait for a reservation then seated outside...not the best. Then another wait for dinner with salad coming after entrees served. Everyone was disappointed in the service.
Best brunch experience in a long time! Delicious food and excellent service☺️
The perfect place for a Valentines Day lunch. Everything we ordered was so good, especially the poutine with braised short rib (our Canadian friends would be appalled, but we loved it). At one point they came out and apologized for the wait due to a large party and we hadn’t even noticed a delay.
Really lovely and easy. Is becoming a regular spot.
River and Woods has a nice happy hour. Interesting menu, not hard to get something healthy. Our server was appropriately attentive. I am a repeat customer.
Just great, again and again, and again and again, again and again.
Great date night place. S’mores were an awesome finish to a fun night.
Fabulous service from the hostess to the server. Bottomless mimosas were a good value and brunch was wonderful.
Great food AND dessert! Our server Chelsea was very good....always available but not overbearing.
River and Woods has a nice cozy atmosphere that somehow manages to be both rustic and sophisticated, modern but unpretentious, and kids are not an afterthought in a place that would not intuitively be kid friendly. Great food, unique menu, and I always leave happy.
Enjoyed a great meal. Drinks were creative. Entrees (trout and short ribs) were delicious. Shared the amazing churros dessert. Not to be missed.
Love this restaurant. Could use a little sound mitigation as the past few times I’ve been there people sitting near us were loud and it made hearing each other difficult. Food and service as delightful.
A very comfortable and delicious lunch meeting. Would like to go back for dinner.
We loved our brunch at River and Woods. Service was exceptional, the vibe of the place is lovely, parking is easy, and the food was fabulous! I had a great breakfast salad with fresh veggies and fruit and the "sweet starter" scone (lemon poppyseed) was served warm and was delicious. We'll be back! Can't wait to try it for dinner!
The food was really good in my opinion. Everything came out quickly and tasted great.
However, the music was WAY too loud. I felt like I was in an H&M. It didn’t really fit the ambiance of the restaurant.
Other than that, I can’t complain.
Bella was a wonderful hostess! We are regulars, but she was new to us this time.
The food was good and creative, I loved the atmosphere and overall coziness fo the place! Not the best meal I’ve had, but a fun restaurant for sure! I ordered the burger and all the ingredients were tasty, but the patties were a bit dry. Still worth going and checking out the fun menu all inspired by local Coloradans. My biggest complaint was the service..my waitress never asked for our drink order, didn’t ask how I wanted my meat cooked, and did not ask if we wanted a box of sorts. She did a good job with asking us how our food was and seemed enthused about the food which was good.
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that the poor service we experienced was simply an anomaly and not the norm. We arrived a little early to get a drink at the bar and the service there was quite slow. After being seated and someone pouring water, we waited nearly 15 minutes before we had to flag someone down for assistance. I'm not sure if our table just wasn't assigned or what. The attentiveness of our server was fine in the beginning, but towards the end of the meal the gaps started getting longer and longer.
I don't want to harp on the poor service, but it really did detract from how awesome the food was. There's gluten-free options for nearly everything on the menu so if you're celiac (or anything related) don't feel like you have to avoid the restaurant.
On the opposite end of having celiac, the Friday night Challah option is a good bet as the bread is super tasty. They do run out, so if you're on the fence, get it and they encourage you to take the extra home.
The food was good enough that we would definitely eat here again.
First time here and did not disappoint. The place has both an air of fine dining but also a down home neighborhood feel. The rod was very good. Nice to have a good dinner in a very comfortable atmosphere. Look forward to visiting again.
Chef Daniel and his team are about the nicest and most conscientious folks I know. The food is delicious and thoughtfully sourced, the drinks are delightful, and the ambience is sexy yet down-to-earth. So happy this is my neighborhood restaurant!
Amazing food! Went here for New Year's this year and it wasn't too packed. That's why I was surprised our waiter took so long to take our drink and food order. Nevertheless, the wine and food was awesome, and they brought us a small glass of champagne and a goodie bag that included some candy, confetti and a sparkler to ring in the new year!
The food quality has gone down since we first started dining here. The service is really lovely, though, which counts for a lot. Wine list is small but very good. Really wish they’d put some better noise insulation in.
Great service, food and delicious dessert!
We went on Christmas Eve for a celebration. The restaurant is very pretty and we liked the environment. However the service was slow. We sat for a long time before someone took our order and the food pacing was off thru the meal. And one of the dishes was not prepared correctly and had to be sent back. We will give it another try when it’s not a holiday to see if it is better.
