On your website it doesn't inform us that brunch menu is different from dinner. I was under the impression that the same food would be served. My husband is a picky eater and didn't like anything on the menu so he picked something simple and still didn't like it. He only ate about 4 bites of his food and was finished. I'm more of an adventurous eater and liked my food. The plates are to small for the brunch because half of my food fell off my plate and onto the table.
Our service was horrible. The waitress was not attentive at all. She was supposed to check on certain drinks for us and let us know but we did not see her again until they brought our food. The portion is extremely small. There are no appetizers, no sides and no side salads. Not very many options and it was really over prices for what you got and the taste of the entrees.
Columbus lacks these types of quality restaurants. Me and my sisters absolutely loved it. The food was delicious!!! Many people in this area don't want to pay a few extra dollars for this quality of food. That is why Columbus can't keep a good restaurant opened. Some of the portions were a little small for the price like the beet appetizer. It was fabulous! But overall, it was a great experience and great food. We will definitely be back.
The grilled oysters are phenomenal. Very friendly service
Went there for a girls nite out with a dear friend that I don't get to see very often. John, our waiter, was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, friendly and not once did we feel rushed. The food was nothing short of amazing! 5 star all the way, will definitely be back!
What a great find! Excellent food and service, great ambiance. This farm-to-table restaurant uses fresh local ingredients in a very unusual and creative way. I highly recommend this restaurant for people who like to try new food combinations. Everything was delicious!
I had noticed several negative reviews, but we were very happy with the meal and the service. Our waiter, Stormy, explained all the dishes to us and gave us some great recommendations based on our desires.
great food wonderful service warm friendly will be back
Chargrilled oysters at River and Rail are excellent and best deal in town on Tuesday-Wednesday. Other selections such as veal and steak delicious. This is truly a neighborhood gem.
Dinner was fun. I loved the rabbit! The tea sauce glaze was very good on the rabbit. Unfortunately the corn bread was very dry/over cooked. The side was kale and it was drizzled with the tea sauce and the dark green vegetable balanced the sweet taste of the rabbit very well. My husband had the veal Parmesan. He was very disappointed in that the Parmesan red sauce was very bland. The service was really good and the restaurant was nicely decorated, quiet and clean. I would go back and try another house specialty but would forego another veal Parmesan.
As one of the few restaurants open for Sunday Brunch, River & Rail does it right! The restaurant has a great atmosphere, offering indoor and outdoor seating, and impeccable service! Stormy, our waiter, was so welcoming and was quick to offer descriptions and persona recommendations in addition to insight on menu items popular with customers. My husband and I ate outside and enjoyed started with delicious and well-dressed Bloody Marys (served promptly at 12:30 pm, in accordance with Georgia state laws). We split the Fried Green Tomatoes with crawfish as an appetizer, which came highly recommended by Stormy. They were perfectly fried and are great for a shared plate (for 2 or 4). My husband got the Alligator BLT, and I got the Gulf Fish with grits. Although much creamier than I usually like grits, I still really enjoyed my entree. At the end of the meal, we ordered coffee and cleared our table to enjoy the bench seating/lounge area on the patio, where we enjoyed some sunshine! I highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I met friends for dinner and wine. The food is great and they have a good wine selection. I highly recommend River & Rail.
Fantastic restaurant. Brittany was our server and was so knowledgeable and helpful in making our decisions on what to order. We tried several menu items and everything was awesome. Staff is great. Food is great. Location is nice.
Great atmosphere. Nicely renovated old space. Broad menu choices.
Very eclectic menu and drinks: Delicious craft beers, wonderfully unique cocktails, and small but delicious plates of amazing food (the rabbit and the octopus were our faves). Service was great too. Thoroughly enjoyed!
We went to River & Rail for Sunday Brunch. It was my husband's birthday. He absolutely loved it. He had the open faced biscuit with crabby patties (still talks about how good it was), and I had the pulled pork over Texas toast with scrambled egg. Price for the quality and quantity of food was great. Would definitely go back again.
We had smoked hen; wild game pie; spaggatino; burgers, tater tots and sweet fried alligator. Everything was delicious, including our chocolate soufflé and cheesecake. One dessert was complimentary because it was my husband’s birthday. Our server was great! Didn’t get to try the wines though as we don’t drink. My family will definitely come back. Highly recommended place to dine when you’re in Columbus.
Outstanding food and global aesthetics.
If you are a foodie River and Rail needs to be on yout short list.
The variety and originality of the menu is commendable. The wait staff is great. I haven’t had anything on the menu, I didn’t like and I usually order multiple appetizers and an entree
Went for Easter Sunday brunch. Beautiful place, classy decor. We sat outside in the back courtyard, lovely. No kid menu but our boys were able to add scrambled eggs and fresh bacon to a pancake order. It’s a farm to table restaurant and foodie’s delight. Our server was fantastic! Becky, I think..forgive me if that’s not right, was very attentive, best we’ve had in a long time. Just remember adult libations can’t be served til 12:30 on Sundays 😕
Very attentive staff, great food. Portions on the smaller side but very good and the drinks are jigger poured so... but very nice place. I went on a Monday and basically rented the place. I would guess Wednesday thru Saturday to be much busier.
Loved the food, server was outstanding, and the decor beautiful.
My husband and I enjoyed the pre-set Valentines menu. The food was creatively paired with different yet delicious flavors. We will definitely be back. It was the perfect setting for a date night.
It was our valentine dinner. The place was not very busy when we arrived and yet every table right next to us was used before the rest of the place. It would have been nice to have some separation. Our waiter, John, was very informative and enthusiastic. The food was delicious.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our lovely Valentine’s Day dinner. We heard some great things about the restaurant and figured it was the perfect time to try it out. Will definitely return for brunch!
Brittany a trainee served us and did a great job. Everything was fresh, balanced and tasty
Sitting across from the kitchen, have to listen to the chef shouting was not very pleasing,
need to have some sound barrier.
Waitress Kelsy was very certious
Disappointed with the food, the restaurant was nearly empty as there was only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. The kitchen was slow to put out the food and when they did it was wrong. The hostess failed to inform my server of the notes I filled out on open table.
Server was great and did his best to make up for the poor experience.
We enjoyed our dining experience! We tasted several different appetizers, and everything was delicious. Our waitress was kind and patient with our group - we can be a little overwhelming! Great place for a special birthday celebration!
Beautiful restaurant with great service! It was my sister's birthday and they offered a free champagne glass or dessert of her choice, which was an unexpected treat! The food is fun to try and very good. We have been here a few times and are very satisfied. Tonight, my husband ordered the pork chop option, which they didn't ask how he wanted it cooked so we just assumed the chef would know. It came out well done so it was a little too dry for his liking. Also, the bubbly options offered are listed with the "white wines" so it took us a minute to find them and they were out of the two bottle options we wanted to drink. Highly recommend this restaurant for those visiting Columbus!
The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. He gave us really good recommendations based on menu items he likes. The food was fabulous! Our son has been there before and said the food is always good. You will not be disappointed!
Great food and service. Seating not conducive to intimate conversation.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. Service was excellent with our server, Stormy. Food was well prepared with unique twists on each dish. Looking forward to our return.
I thought the flavors were good but nothing special, actually a bit bland. They did go off menu for us for a sauteed vegetable plate which was the best thing we had. We liked the menu (very different).
I was visiting from Atlanta and was thrilled to find this farm to table restaurant. Dinner at R&R was a delicious enjoyable experience. $1 roasted oysters $3 Mexican draught beer, High west whiskey, pickled grapes gulf shrimp risotto. All outstanding!
the potato salad did not compliment the etoufee. Also we did not enjoy the fennel. a little pricey as well
The food was good, and the meal choices are very good. We had brunch, and enjoyed Mimosas. Very quiet play, with great service.
Out of towners here. We had a lovely experience. The food was good and the cocktails were as well.
