River and Post
Disclaimer: River & Post does not offer the full dining menu on our rooftop, but does offer appetizers. Our lounge seating is on a first come, first served basis starting daily at 4:00 p.m.
For parties of 10 or more, at least half the group must be present to be seated. We will then hold the reservation for 15 minutes to wait for the additional guests. If the guests do not arrive, we will reduce the table to fit the current group.
It was a great night ... The server was just perfect service and the food was delicious, definitely I’ll come back.
Too many lawyers on the rooftop making all their obnoxious lawyer sounds. Better in the dining area downstairs
Not great service on the roof top even though it wasn't at all crowded. However, excellent service downstairs for dining. Great server, very good food, and nice ambiance. Enjoyed our meal.
Food was ok but nothing special. Served lukewarm at best.
Great venue. The mussels in the cream pernod sauce were exellent.
Food was great. Service was good but could have been better. Way too noisy!!
Our server was most attentive (Rhonda?) … nice greeting when we entered restaurant from the hostess … would like to see a couple of three hand-helds from the menu (other than apps) offered upstairs (i.e burger)
Great atmosphere, great service, food was really good. Visited this location twice and had a very nice time on both visits. Service was spot on.
Great and was daughters birthday. Have to visit rooftop as well.
Beautiful setting for a before dinner beverage on the roof! Dinner with the husband before FLorida Theater show was perfectly yummy and wonderful. New server Tony was so great and his recommendations were spot on! He helped make our date night a very special occasion. We’ll be back for sure!
Nice place. Easy parking. Great staff. Excellent meal of fried Shrimp and Scallops (sea scallops), and some seared scallops.
Anniversary of my son and girlfriend
Food, service, and atmosphere were perfect! Just wish the fact that I mentioned in my reservation that it was my boyfriends birthday that the waiter and hostess would have acknowledged that!
Great food and drinks, the bartenders on the rooftop are very knowledgeable on different drinks and made an effort to have a conversation.
Wonderful experience. Food was excellent and our server, Barry, was terrific!!!
Great atmosphere. Would go again. Everyone was nice
Staff greet you with a warm welcome and remain pleasant during meal. My steak was not prepared as it should but was corrected immediately and manager made sure of that. I would recommend and go back. The crab beignets are the best.
The service was absolutely terrible and we had to wait several minutes every time we asked for something. There was no salt and pepper on the table!! Other than that the food was pretty good!
Great food , great atmosphere , very loud . Roof top is a must
The crab and calamari appetizers were great, and the seared scallops were amazing. The sea bass was incredible. Someone in our party ordered steak, and had to ask for steak sauce because it was just a little bland. However...he said the scrumptious bread pudding made everything all right!
Thanks! We'll be headed back to the rooftop bar and restaurant as soon as possible!
We sampled a limited happy hour drink menu rooftop for an hour, then ate dinner below. Everything was very good. Service and food were excellent. A little pricey (almost $200 for the 2 of us), but I guess that's expected occasionally
The restaurant is very nice and clean. Loved the comfortable leather back chairs. The meatballs with Lebanese seasoning were good. We especially enjoyed the cocktail Fleck and Laura’s blueberry dessert. I thought by the pictures on Open Table we would have a river view but that was not the case in the restaurant only the lounge.
The room was great, if energetic. The food was goo dish, if slightly overpriced. Some items were hot and some weren’t. The food took quite a while, which probably explains the patchy temperatures. Folks from Charleston should avoid the Shrimp and Grits like Alabamians avoid Texas “Barbecue.” The service was not so good, but probably just our waitress. This could be a really good place, but isn’t yet.
Cocktails, food and service were exceptional. We will be back!
I wasn’t sure if I was checked in with Open table before being seated, and so asked our server to make sure that this was done. He said he did, but I still haven’t seen the prompt in my email. Anyway he overall service was ok, could have been better. The food was very good and the ambiance was good.
Jimmy the batender was Awesome!!! We enjoyed the food and atmosphere!!
The food is not as good as it should be for the prices - and the service last Saturday was unacceptable. Our server was not very personable and neither was the bartender downstairs. I did like the atmosphere. I will likely go back, but it will be while.
The restaurant is unpleasantly loud. I could not hear the waitress or my husband talking. I had to cover my ears to protect them from noise. Because it was extraordinarily uncomfortable being seated inside we requested to be moved outside. When we did, the waitress, though nice, forgot about us. It took nearly an hour to get our appetizer. We ordered the special and it wasn’t until we were expecting our main course that we were notified the kitchen had already ran out of the snapper. We opted not to select a different main entree and requested our check instead. The mussels were delicious. The salad was good. Based on our overall experience we have ZERO desire to go back.
Was in need of a date night with my lady. This place was perfect especially with the roof top bar to start us off. Food was great and service was awesome!
Went in for dinner on 3-28 which happened to be my birthday. Our table was not ready so we had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated we waited 10 minutes before being approached by our server. I asked about the soup and specials but she couldn’t explain either. She seamed distracted at best. When our food was delivered she didn’t check with us and my steak was not prepared correctly. The food was under seasoned and we had to track down a manager just to voice a complaint. Our server still hadn’t checked back. All over...terrible meal and experience! I wouldn’t go back
Food was excellent all they way around. We ordered steak, scallops and the seafood platter, and everybody enjoyed their meal. Desserts were also very good...bread pudding and chocolate mousse.
Over all I thought it was pricey. $2.50 for a small cup of coffee? Our bill for 4 was $200 (with tip). No appetizers, and 1 drink each. Good service...water was always full. Server was attentive and polite, but not bothersome.
Very noisy and difficult to converse. We both had fish dinners. Mine was fine with a creative rissoto but my wife’s sea bass was overdone while her vegetables were under cooked.
Ahi tuna dinner delicious. Informative friendly service. Timing pace perfect. Nice decor. French influence. Ask for booth as we were seated by bar with TV and noisy sports fans.
Grilled seafood perfectly cooked. Shrimp and grits delicious especially lobster sauce.
When visiting JAX we returned twice it was so good
Amazing as always! Service was great, atmosphere great. I love this place
It was our first visit. We were so impressed with the food and the service. Food was so delicious but the servings were HUGE. Wonderful evening
Celebrating a friends birthday.
Great night out for my wife and I. Brandon was our server and was excellent
It was my birthday dinner. The rooftop was spectacular as always. Drinks were good, appetizers ok. Food downstairs wasn’t worth the raised prices. I’d rather have drinks there and go to Ruths Chris for dinner. Either food needs to be better for the price or price needs to be lower.
Owner was greeting patrons on a Saturday night. Drinks were excellent. Fillet was requested to be medium came more medium well, but still was excellent so no complaints.
