Mentored by Michelin-starred chef Rohit Ghai, a true connoisseur and lover of the heritage of Indian cuisine, Rivayat promises a magical experience, taking you on a journey to the very limits of Indian flavors.

Rohit Ghai’s first solo restaurant, Kutir in Chelsea, opened in late 2018, followed by the critically acclaimed Manthan in Mayfair in 2021. Rohit has worked in and run the kitchens of some of London's leading Indian restaurants, such as Benares, Trishna, Gymkhana, Hoppers and most recently, Jamavar and Bombay Bustle. He is also the first Indian chef to win a Michelin star for Jamavar within ten months of opening the restaurant and also for Gymkhana.

The food here at Rivayat was some of THE best Indian food I have ever had! And that is speaking as a British Indian. We had the paneer, brocoli and aloo tiki to start and the paneer I would happily eat everyday. It was flavoursome and soft and slightly chargrilled. For mains we had the courgette dumplings and the aubergines curry and the basket of breads. The aubergine curry was sublime and dare I say better than my mum’s! The courgette dumplings were in a cashew sauce which made it a little sweet which was perfect and balance out the actual dumplings. For dessert we have the mango mali and that delish and creamy. Everything about Rivayat was an experience for the mouth and eyes. We were sat outside so were able to admire the building. The sous chef - Sumit also came to our table and had a chat which was very kind and we told him how much we appreciated the food. I would recommend Rivayat to anyone that enjoys Indian food and food in general!

My partner and I had an amazing experience at Rivayat. From the beautiful setting to the friendly and helpful staff, not forgetting the outstanding food! Highly recommended Rivayat, we will be returning.

We cannot stay with everything which went well. Immaculate setting to intricately planned meals for the special occasion. A special shout out to the hospitality giant Oberoi and its team.

Très belle expérience. Merci beaucoup à Amina, qui nous a accueilli. Elle a anticipé nos besoins et après le diné, Amina nous a fait visiter l’hôtel avant de nous raccompagner jusqu’à la sortie. Une très gentille attention qui nous a marqué ! Bravo à toute l’équipe en général.

It was the most opulent and lovely space to dine. Quite with lovely ambience. The food was delicious - the one issue we had was that we did not realize how much food there was with the tasting menu - and we had to ask the kitchen to slow down the courses as they came one after the other and we felt rushed - we wanted to enjoy and savour each dish properly. And let our food digest .. otherwise everything was beyond !!

Rivayat is the signature restaurant for the Oberoi in Marrakesh which has to be one of the best hotels in the area. The hotel has magnificent architecture and the surroundings to the restaurant truly spectacular. The menu reflects gourmet indian food at its best with fresh ingredients herbs and cooking The ambience and service are first class. We had the pink prawns as a starter which is one of their signature dishes and is outstanding the tandoori chicken and the sea bass main courses equally superb. A very reasonable bill at circa £190 for two people including a bottle of wine is great value.
