Our server was very helpful to giving suggestions for entries. Unfortunately, I did not like his recommendation of manila clam pasta. The clams were overcooked and too chewy. The biggest problem was the serving portions. The street corn agnolotti (on yelp showed $14 but actual $25) was so little that couldn't even fill up my daughter after sharing focaccia bread and squash blossom tempura. The $42 scallops has only 3 medium sized scallops (went to many similar class restaurants and this is by far the least amount ever) which could not be enough for anyone, especially not for my husband. Besides small portions, presentation was also missing. If the chef makes the dish looking good, we could say that more of the cost went to labor (our dishes looked differently then the ones on Yelp). So maybe it was day off of the chief chef. We ended up ordering Fritto Misto so we would not go home feeling hungry. The seating is also not comfortable. The table was too low for the bench sofa as my knee (my legs were crossed) touched the tabletop. The plate sets are too cheap for this kind of restaurant, they looked like something for Denny's. And they added 4% service fee which all 3 of us did not see on menu.

The food was excellent but there were two large parties between our table and the kitchen and we all had the same server. Every time she came out they would ask her for something and she wouldn’t make it to us. Long wait from appetizer to main course. And li g wait for the check.

Every single thing we ate. Besides, the focaccia was not good. I’m not sure who the chef is but everything was just kind of a mess. We’ve ate it so many good restaurants not sure what’s going on here.

It was a sleepy Monday, so take that into consideration. Staff was friendly, but also distant which was surprising given how few customers. I was most disappointed with the food. Chef is definitely trying to reinvent the wheel. Lots of flavors (too much), Cod seemed undercooked. It probably wasn’t, but the fact that I had to think about it was unfortunate. My best dish was the smashed potatoes and that should tell you enough. Might have been an off night, and I hope that anyone reading this enjoys Per L’Ora more than I did.

Flavors were completely flat and one dimensional. Had the street corn agnolotti which just tasted like gnawing on sweet corn on the cob. That’s it. No other herbs or spice or anything. The black cod had soggy skin and was just seasoned with sea salt- again, no other flavors other than just plain salt. Tirami-choux was stale and hard. Ginger cake was overwhelmingly ginger and again, that was the only thing we tasted. The Tuscan apple cocktail was supposed to come with a vanilla meringue but it was just a sliver of froth on the top that looked like dishwater. TLDR We didn’t finish a single plate and didn’t take leftovers despite the $280 tab so that should be enough of a review.

Stayed here as a guest and couldn’t say nicer things not only about the food, but about the service from all members of the hotel. We did the $65 three course and was so stuffed by the end of the meal! Restaurant stars slow but picks up after a little while. Will be back again soon for our second trip!

Absolutely love Per L’Ora!! Food, Cocktails, and Service are always exceptional and the ambiance of the 1920s art deco architectural is exquisite. There are so many little details that you can’t appreciate all of them with just one visit. Let’s also not forget about the bathroom! Probably the coolest bathroom in DTLA. It used to be a bank vault and you walk through the giant vault door and the safety deposit boxes to get to the bathrooms. So cool!!

I took my best friend here for her 30th birthday and let me tell you the service was top tier. As soon as we walked up to the front door we were greeted and walked to the host. They even offered to carry the gift I brought for my friend. Our waiter was Estevan and he was so nice and informative, he gave us some history about the building and went over the entire drink and food menu. The ambiance of this place was just so nice, pretty quiet and relaxing. Definitely a good spot for an intimate dinner. The drinks were delicious and the food was even better. The portions were perfect so you’re not leaving overly stuffed and able to have room for dessert. They gave us a free dessert since it was my friends birthday which was also so delicious! You will definitely want to take some pictures at the entrance. I have 0 complaints about this place and I’m so glad I found it. Will definitely be returning here!

Had the worst LA dining experience last night. Staff rushed us in every way. One min after main course was served the waiter was trying to sell us some desert. Very unprofessional for a high end LA restaurant. Bartender refused to make a drink 3 min before 10 PM stating they had no ice even thought we offer our old drinks ice for him to use. Will never return.

Only about 6 tables seated any time when we were there (maybe a slow monday night?). I did appreciate the spaciousness and not being too loud. Cocktail and wine selection was good, oxtail orrechiette tasted great but slightly undercooked pasta. Lobster tagliatelle was OK. Focaccia was ok but only because we had it with marinara. I feel they're slightly overpriced given what they offered but you're paying for the ambience. $14 for ok bread, $11 for sparkling water, cocktail/alcohol prices pretty standard, 4% automatic service charge and some entrees were about $5-$10 overpriced - no big deal, not the end of the world, just didn't really match the expectation. Overall a beautiful place with very kind staff and good but not excellent food.

Small portions and pricey but it is DTLA. Ambience is good with vaulted ceilings and unique architecture. Had a great waiter but he was let go early and the replacement was not responsive. Food late to late to the table. I probably would not return based on this experience.

Great decor and excellent staff… Foccacia definitely a must! Warm from the oven in a personalized skillet! Voila Ordered the meatballs which were good but slightly bland… but the tomato sauce made up for it! The lobster pasta, Al dente, good, and slightly salty…. Overall a nice experience

This is literally my first time leaving a bad review but I was so disappointed. I will start with the host: The lady was dressed unprofessionally (was wearing baggy cargo pants with cropped tshirt) for a high end restaurant like that and her attitude was not welcoming. The server: Our server was not able to answer any questions about the food. The ambiance: the place is BEAUTIFUL but too bad they don’t offer good food and service. The food: We ordered Hamachi and the kale salad for starters. The Kale salad was good but the Hamachi was disgusting, I mean it had no flavor. There weren’t much options on the menu. For second course we ordered the scallops and the lobster pasta which was not bad but it wasn’t anything special. For sides we ordered the mushrooms which again wasn’t that good.

It was a hard act to follow as the previous restaurant at this location was one of our favorites pre-pandemic. We thoroughly enjoyed our nearly three hour dinner... fabulous wine, hamachi and salad for starters, lobster tagliatelle, black cod, and couldn't resist ordering the crispy polenta! Everything was beyond delicious and the service was exceptional. Have already made another reservation to return in a few weeks.

From the moment you arrive, your greeted with a prompt valet service open doors and conveniently alleviate the stress of parking in LA. The decor was amazing you go through a very pretty mirror tunnel right to the hostess who greets you and seats you promptly. You get served water, and given menus, while you soak the Ambiance. Our table was missing a napkin for which we received an apology and it was fixed momentarily. Soon enough are drinks come and me and my fiancé are loving it. Esteban our waiter was very acomadating, took his time to explain the menu and was patient with us. From starter, to sides, to main course the food was exceptional, if I had to have one complaint, my dish the veal was if maybe a touch under seasoned but my palet is very fond of heavy seasoning, as my fiancé. That is more a nit pick. Overall experience I would rate a 10/10 from Valet to our waiter Esteban to the food, unfortunately we enjoyed ourselves a little too much and where a big late a cocktail at the roof top bar but we managed to go up there and soak up the views and even a fire-work show. It was an awesome experience and one that made my fiancés Birthday a night to remember. Will definitely recommending to friends and coming back, if only for special occasions.

The atmosphere is amazing with high detailed ceilings and unfortunately, I can only recommend the bar at this time - I love that even the bathrooms are in an old bank vault ! Unfortunately, the food is not good, we have tried this place twice, really wanting to like it because, the location is unique- however , there was a bug on the Hamachi - and I know they serve bugs / grasshoppers with other items so I didn’t say anything. But the food overall is very poorly favored, and bland. The ‘good’ deserts we’re already sold out. I highly recommend that they get a new head chef, as well as people who actually want to work in the kitchen, and please completely re-do the menu with food combinations that people actually enjoy eating. Both my spouse and I felt the food was very ‘off’ . Then After an unimpressive and overpriced diner… Additionally, they said the valet parking was $28., so I asked for a receipt because that didn’t make sense with the timeframe we were there, and then they said oh it was really only $18. The valet people are ripping everybody off. Just FYI always ask for a receipt.
