It’s a good thing that the food is delicious because the rest of the experience was terrible. The table we were seated at should not exist as it is at the door to the kitchen. My wife had empty plates passing her face by inches through out our dinner. If that was the only table available when I made the reservation I would prefer to have been told that nothing was available

MV seems to be slipping in both food quality and service. We visited specifically for the chicken francese, which is usually excellent, but this time it was overly drenched in butter, making it nearly inedible. The dish came with a small portion of vegetables, so we requested mashed potatoes. Surprisingly, the server informed us—rather abruptly—that they didn’t have any type of potato available, which struck us as odd. Instead, we asked for a half plate of pasta, but unfortunately, it too arrived swimming in butter. When we brought this to the server’s attention, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. He curtly stated, “That’s how the chef makes it,” and walked away, leaving us feeling unheard and frustrated. The overall experience was unpleasant, and the server’s attitude certainly didn’t help. On top of that, the noise level in the main downstairs dining area was excessive, making it difficult to hold a conversation. MV is becoming overpriced and underwhelming, with both food and service falling short of expectations. There are plenty of better options in the area worth exploring. On a separate note, we had an issue with the valet service during a visit a few months ago. The valet returned our car while it was still running but failed to give us back the key. We didn’t realize the key was missing for some time since we were using our spare. Eventually, we used GPS tracking to locate the key, which pinged at MV. However, when we called to inquire, they claimed they didn’t have it. When we returned to the restaurant to investigate further, the GPS tracker had stopped working, so we were unable to locate the key on-site. Unfortunately, this resulted in a $500 key replacement. A word of caution: be extra vigilant when using the valet service at MV!

We arrived to find a fire engine in the parking lot and the entire restaurant waiting outside. Situation was quickly resolved and we were able to be seated but the alarm kept buzzing on and off for the first half of our dining experience. The host continually came through to apologize and check on everyone. Overall, the food is very good. We’ve dined here before. The apps and pastas were delish but the main courses seemed “off” and almost too rich/seasoned. For example, the scallops were literally swimming in a pool of butter (which was supposed to be white wine according to the menu) that was congealing. Maybe the kitchen was off because of the fire alarm situation but imo when you’re paying top dollar you should have a near perfect experience. MV will continue to be a restaurant we consider for special occasions but maybe we’ll give it a rest for a bit.

The food is always good here & I love the ambiance. I ordered a mocktail and it was amazing and so refreshing. The waiter didn’t seem like he wanted to be there and seemed annoyed so that was a bit off putting, but otherwise enjoyed the evening and can’t wait to visit again!

A bit over priced. Food was okay but not memorable. Best dish was the meatballs that we ordered that was not offered on the dining room menu but it’s offered at the tavern.

The food is very good and the menu has a great selection. Only question I have for owner or chef is why do you use bacon in your carbonara instead of pancetta or guanciale?

The ambiance of the restaurant was great, there was a nice bar downstairs off the dining room, however, we arrived at 6:15 for 6:30 reservations, nearly half the bar had "reserved" on the seats, which it turns out was the owner, reserving seats for friends. No one sat in those seats for the 20 minutes or so we were at the bar and I wasn't allowed to even sit in one of the seats just to have a drink with my wife (who was sitting in the only non reserved open seat), while we waited for a table. That sort of put me off a bit. I understand reserving seats, but if someone's there to have a drink before dinner, is it that big a deal to let him sit down in the seat? If the people that they were reserved for showed up, I, and I believe anyone else, would have quickly relinquished the seat. He's the owner and he can do what he wants, but that was a bit off putting to me and tainted our overall experience.
