It was not busy when we arrived and it seemed to take more time than usual for the waitress to attend to us.
Overall I thoroughly enjoy the restaurant. But the service was slow at the start and the martini was dirty with olive juice. They did replace the martini quickly. And the rest of the meal was fine.
Probably my favorite place in NYC
The food was delicious. I had the puttanesca pasta and it was PERFECTION. We loved the fritto misto appetizer and they made a mean manhattan as well. Great spot to have conversation but not so quiet that it feels stuffy. Had a great time.
Great food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere.
My family had a great comforting dinner on a cold, sleety winter night. Excellent cocktail list and wines by the glass. Salads were varied, fresh, and flavorful. I had oil poached halibut with two sauces; the livornese was especially good. The other diners had pasta: one in an insanely rich ragu, the other in a bright pomodoro. Prices are full but quality great.
You can't go wrong with the food here. Particularly the pastas, which are incredible, as well as unique appetizers like the artichoke zuppa. If you go on a weeknight, the specials can be a real deal, too.
Had a lovely dinner but the wait and bus staff could be somewhat more attentive and knowledgeable.
Creative and tasty food. Very friendly waitress. Great evening.
The best pasta ever! The agnolotti, fusilli and tagliatelle are the yummiest pastas i have ever hard. husband and i eat pasta several times a week and RM is by far our favorite restaurant in NYC for pasta. MUST VISIT!
Delicious food and very good service. Tables are close together and it is fairly noisy in the restaurant.
I’ve been to this restaurant at least 15 times. There is no recognition when u arrive at the hostess station/ front desk check in. It’s not like it’s in the middle of Times Square It’s a neighborhood restaurant. Very cold host/greeting staff. Food is good. Pricing not so great. Now that we found Paola’s, u can keep Morini
Great food! Great service! Great night!
Very good food and excellent service from our waiter as well as the wine sommelier.
Hands down best date night experience on the UES. If your date doesn’t have an exceptional experience here I would check him/her for a pulse. The sommelier on staff picked the most perfect bottle of sparkling rosé (Ettore Germano Brut Rosé) based off merely a few exchanged words on our preferred tastes (my girlfriend and I also NEVER have rosé so it was a huge leap of faith for her to recommend it).
We started off with the calamari to share which was perfectly mixed with fried vegetables.
We then each had a pasta dish of which I unfortunately forgot the names (but you could honestly close your eyes and point to a random pasta dish and not be disappointed).
We finished the evening off with the gelato which was also great.
Overall, a wonderful experience from the moment you walk in the door. When you check in at the front you wait for the elevator (which each party takes by themselves) and the ambience and decor was just perfect for any special occasion.
went here for a romantic date and it was perfect. I can't wait to go back
Excellent fixed menu for Valentine’s Day.
This was the worst main course I have ever had, we chose here for our Valentine’s Day however it was so disappointing that we almost had a bad time, the salmon was almost no taste and dry as hell, the lamb was also tasteless with strong odor, the appetizers were good, the ravioli was also too salty, but the main course I have to say, they are extremely disappointing, I can cook those in the minutes and why would I spend my Valentine’s Day here for 300 bucks?
Staff is very accommodating.
Downstairs welcoming staff very nice.
Excellent service (although felt a bit rushed), wine choices were great and sommelier was very knowledgeable.
Will definitely be back!
Excellent as always!
Food was outstanding. Service was incredibly slow.
Went during the NYC restaurant week, excellent value, food is excellent and great service, very attentive and professional. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.
The food at Ristorante Morini is sensational! Great service and attractive venue.
We will definitely be back.
Continuously good and wonderful service. Even better for dinner.
Food mediocre at best. Service uninspired. Bread choice poor. Expensive house sparkling water flat.
Don’t go.! Asked for extra garlic on pastas and there was none. Asked for added Parmesan and red pepper, and nobody came back to serve us. Staff very arrogant. When I said something to manager, she only said she was sorry and made zero attempt to make it right. Ordered wine by glass from Restaurant Week menu after ordering pasta and salad combination for higher price not on Week menu, they charged us more per glass! Will never go back and never recommend.
Kelley in bar was excellent and only bright spot!
Went here for Restaurant Week. It was very good and nice ambience. Lyn
We happened upon Morini in our search for a restaurant near the 92nd Street Y. We live on lower 5th Avenue and are not familiar with many upper East Side restaurants. What a find! This is an elegant restaurant with exquisite food. While we there were just two of use, selecting different appetizers and main courses, each was artfully/perfectly prepared as were the desserts. We look forward to returning.
We enjoyed an early dinner at the restaurant before an event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The service was perfect and the food excellent. We had the 4 course dinner. The tonno appetizer was terrific, top of the line crudo. The pasta course was clearly home made and cooked perfectly, I abhor overcooked pasta. I had the lamb ossobuco. It was delicious and large. Last, I enjoyed the tiramisu. It was a modern presentation (I’m a bit of a traditionalist). However, it was well made. The wine by the glass choices were good, albeit a bit on the pricey side. The happy hour choices at the bar were good and economically priced. I truly enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to returning.
Small potions but solid and good food. Wait staff needed help (eg. bread, water, reminder of orders); however they were responsive to feedback.
The pasta was superb, flawless, and bursting with flavor. Our server seemed disinterested in our table, and hustled an upsell at every turn. Yes, you’re a cousin of Marea, on Madison Avenue, but how soon we forget... there’s still a path to twelve dollar pasta here (we were half an hour early, otherwise would’ve given it a shot). Would perhaps try dining downstairs next time in the bar area, because the pasta is worth coming back for time and time again.
I have been to this restaurant many times and have always found the food to be terrific. Today my appetizer and dessert lived up to my expectations. Unfortunately the pasta on the prix fixed menu was over sauced and too rich.
Excellent dining, delicious food and beverages, attentive staff, and beautiful ambiance. A favorite for fine dining.
Five friends (two from out of town with a train to catch) got together for lunch, but because it was "Restaurant Week," the restaurant was clearly much busier than usual, and apparently hadn't anticipated the need to increase the staff to accommodate the enhanced business. The service was very polite and friendly, but clearly overworked, and the food took forever to reach the table. It would be fair to say that it was worth the wait because everything we ordered was delicious, but unlike dinner, lunch is not a meal over which many diners have time to linger for two hours. We'll all return because the food was wonderful -- but we'll return for a leisurely dinner, rather than for lunch on a busy day.
Scheduled a business meeting lunch here and requested a quiet table for that purpose on Open Table. We were seated next to the staff door and which opened and closed with staff hustle and bustle the entire lunch. Our other neighbors were a table with two adults and 4 small children.
While the food was excellent , unique and very well prepared, one of our party had to re-request his ice tea three times and I had to repeatedly request the table be balanced for us as it was wobbly. So, the service was less than perfect, but it was restaurant week. I would return and give this a second chance.
Good food and good service👍I would like to go again soon!
One of my favorite restaurants! Food, service and ambience are fabulous. The pasta is extraordinary and this time, so was the skate. Calamari and chocolate dessert were scrumptious.
Superb handmade pasta. Excellent, polished service. Pricey but well worth it!
