This is a very nice restaurant with quality food and great service. On this visit, we began with an awesome burrata and a very good Caesar type salad. My spouse got the halibut which was absolutely great. I usually get the Friday special veal chop but opted for the tagliatele Bolognese. The pasta was not al dente and even a tad overcooked. That's my reason for 4 stars and not 5 for this trip. My fave dessert of home made vanilla gelato drowned in espresso (afgogato) was awesome. Great servers, sommelier, and all who work there.
The food was amazing.
I had the Arctic char and it couldn’t have been tastier.
I highly recommend Morini for la quiet lunch.
The food is top notch. The atmosphere is very “Upper East Side”, which is to say a bit more formal than necessary. Service was very professional but definitely more formal than knowledgeable or friendly. The result is a very good restaurant that feels a bit stuffy.
Wonderful experience. Food was excellently prepared and served. Very knowledgeable of the wines in an extensive wine list. Best tagliatelle bolognese I have ever eaten. Cannot wait to return.
Great food, reminded us of the wonderful L’impero at Tudor City back in the day.
Our second time here and just as wonderful as the first time! Fabulous food, service, atmosphere and special charm!!
Friends from Canada whom we
Met in the south of France and always come
To NYC once a year asked
Us to pick a restaurant to take
Them to when in. MORINI was our choice, which they LOVED. Agustin our waiter was beyond efficient , amiable ,convivial sand knowledgeable about every item on the menu as well as the wines.
Had a fabulous evening with excellent food and service.
terrific service always friendly staff. Pasta after 8:30 is best value on upper east side ..have tried many dishes and all very flavorful and portions are not overwhelming . Burata is one of may favorites followed by the angolotti !
It was perfect for our business dinner, the table for two was large and not cramped like many other restaurants, the music volume was just right / not noisy and it was great to be able to carry out a good conversation with my client. Thank you!
Spring Break trip with my wife, daughter, and friend
Food divine, all enjoyed their lunches- lobster salad, kale salad w/chicken, and my favorite salad in the world— the romana, tasting just like its French cousin, Caesar!!
Burrata is the best I’ve ever had
came with my husband for the $12 pasta special after 8:30pm. food was delicious, service was great and really nice ambiance. Will definitely come back!
We were very happy overall. A restaurant where you can still talk to your company without having to scream over loud music but still animated atmosphere. Very professional service.
On a Wednesday night surprisingly the restaurant was completely full and bustling, which made it slightly noisier than expected. It also meant that the staff was overworked, and therefore, the service was a little slow. The wait staff, however, is extremely polite, well-trained and professional, so it may be the kitchen that is understaffed. Although perhaps slightly overpriced, the food is very good and attractively presented. This was the second time I had eaten at Morini -- the first was for lunch during the heavily-attended Michelangelo drawings exhibition at the nearby Metropolitan Museum, and the restaurant was equally full and the staff similarly overworked. Since most people in NYC who dine out in the evening make reservations, surely the management can determine how busy the restaurant will be on a given night, and perhaps they should consider adjusting the staff to accommodate the anticipated number of guests. Such is the overall pleasure of eating at Morini, none of these minor complaints will prevent me from returning .
WHAT A FIND. Part of town we are not familiar with. Google search and there we are. Unreal buratta and we shared a bunch of homemade pastas. One better than the last. Sensational wine list at fair prices and great amaro selection.
We will be back!!!
I love the prefix. Completely worth it. Food is always amazing. Not the biggest fan of veal and i ordered 2 veal dishes. Ravioli and milanese, best i have ever had!
Gourmet Italian, great wine, great service, elegant and comfortable.
Ristorante Morini is a really elegant but not stuffy place. We had the 4 course prix fixe and it was a lot of food but too good to leave on the plate. Every dish was just perfect. It’s not inexpensive but you leave feeling like it was worth it.
This is one of the few UES restaurants that is quiet without being stuffy, delicious dependable food and a good wine list. I appreciate the attentive yet not obsequious service. It has become my neighborhood go-to place. Thank you Morini.
I've been to Morini several times for the special lunch and the food was so outstanding and memorable!
My dinner on March 17th was good, but not as wonderful as I remembered previously. So, I was a little disappointed. The service is fabulous, and so is the ambiance.
Amazing dining experience. Cannot wait to go back.
Ristorante Morini brings world class Italian food to the geriatric crowd of the Upper East Side. The downstairs bar is beautiful and provides opportune photo moments when properly accompanied by a blonde beauty. The dishes are amazing, starting with the spaghetti in tomato & basil which is a personal favorite and a must have for the non-celiac crowd. The veggies were prepared to perfection - sauteed spinach and brussel sprouts galore. The particular halibut served at Morini is a piece of fish rarely found in these waters and with a jus to match. The branzino was in a word - decadent. Come early and enjoy the happy hour Prosecco special at a price seen in 70s Manhattan. Unfortunately, the average age crowd of 80+ leaves a little bit lacking in ambiance. On the rare night, beauty and her beautymarks amongst the "seasoned" crowd.
It was not busy when we arrived and it seemed to take more time than usual for the waitress to attend to us.
Overall I thoroughly enjoy the restaurant. But the service was slow at the start and the martini was dirty with olive juice. They did replace the martini quickly. And the rest of the meal was fine.
Probably my favorite place in NYC
The food was delicious. I had the puttanesca pasta and it was PERFECTION. We loved the fritto misto appetizer and they made a mean manhattan as well. Great spot to have conversation but not so quiet that it feels stuffy. Had a great time.
Great food, excellent service, friendly atmosphere.
My family had a great comforting dinner on a cold, sleety winter night. Excellent cocktail list and wines by the glass. Salads were varied, fresh, and flavorful. I had oil poached halibut with two sauces; the livornese was especially good. The other diners had pasta: one in an insanely rich ragu, the other in a bright pomodoro. Prices are full but quality great.
You can't go wrong with the food here. Particularly the pastas, which are incredible, as well as unique appetizers like the artichoke zuppa. If you go on a weeknight, the specials can be a real deal, too.
Had a lovely dinner but the wait and bus staff could be somewhat more attentive and knowledgeable.
Creative and tasty food. Very friendly waitress. Great evening.
The best pasta ever! The agnolotti, fusilli and tagliatelle are the yummiest pastas i have ever hard. husband and i eat pasta several times a week and RM is by far our favorite restaurant in NYC for pasta. MUST VISIT!
Everything was amazing. Food, wine, staff, and environment.
Delicious food and very good service. Tables are close together and it is fairly noisy in the restaurant.
I’ve been to this restaurant at least 15 times. There is no recognition when u arrive at the hostess station/ front desk check in. It’s not like it’s in the middle of Times Square It’s a neighborhood restaurant. Very cold host/greeting staff. Food is good. Pricing not so great. Now that we found Paola’s, u can keep Morini
Great food! Great service! Great night!
Very good food and excellent service from our waiter as well as the wine sommelier.
Hands down best date night experience on the UES. If your date doesn’t have an exceptional experience here I would check him/her for a pulse. The sommelier on staff picked the most perfect bottle of sparkling rosé (Ettore Germano Brut Rosé) based off merely a few exchanged words on our preferred tastes (my girlfriend and I also NEVER have rosé so it was a huge leap of faith for her to recommend it).
We started off with the calamari to share which was perfectly mixed with fried vegetables.
We then each had a pasta dish of which I unfortunately forgot the names (but you could honestly close your eyes and point to a random pasta dish and not be disappointed).
We finished the evening off with the gelato which was also great.
Overall, a wonderful experience from the moment you walk in the door. When you check in at the front you wait for the elevator (which each party takes by themselves) and the ambience and decor was just perfect for any special occasion.
