Great food and services
One of our favorite family run businesses with exceptional food, good wines, friendly service and fun ambience. Always a bit crowded but if that doesn't bother you, it is the place to celebrate family milestones and other events.
One of my favorite spots in SF. Our party of six sat comfortably in the main room; we shared the sardines, grilled calamari with white beans, the chicken livers wrapped in bacon; very yummy; the pasta dishes were equally outstanding; personally I thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti with lamb meatballs; everyone had the delicious tiramisu for dessert. The service was perfect. Ristorante Milano is a wonderful find; a spot you will definitely return. I do, at least 3-4 times a year; and I drive up from Monterey! So make an effort to get there!! Enjoy!
I love this restaurant - it truly does have authentic Milanese cuisine. The first time I went (years ago) I took a friend who is Milanese - he and his daughter said this was the real thing. He and the owner had a grand old chat in Italiano.
The service is always so quick and the staff are all very friendly. The food is amazing. Not a fan of outdoor seating but the ambiance indoor is quite nice.
The service and knowledge of wines the staff always on point. The food has always been excellent no ,matter what is ordered -- flavorful, nicely presented and ultimately, very satisfying. Always bring out-of-town friends here and they always ask to go again on return visits.
Wonderful evening. The owner was attentive to us and made sure that we had a nice table, etc.
This is a tiny place but super cozy. The wine election is actually pretty impressive having some nice Italian boutique wines on the list.
Veal chop was unbelievable.
Great evening in a non-descript area of SF.
Great service and very good food. Not a huge menu but they were able to accommodate my vegetarian sister. The staff could not have been nicer. Cute space with nice ambiance.
Aldo treated us 1st class.
One of the best neighborhood Italian restaurants in SF!!
We have been coming to Milano for over 35 years. The food is consistently excellent, always fresh and delicious.
We were do happy to be able to dine in again. Aldo, the owner was as gracious as ever. Stand out meals are the veal chop and their baked lasagna--the best anywhere. All their pastas and veal dishes are amazing. Also best tiramisu this side of Milan, Italy! Thank you, Aldo!!!
As always the food and service was amazing! This is our go to date spot. The burrata, Lasagna, and Taglierini were great.
Always a pleasure to dine at Ristorante Milano which has the best pasta in the city.
What a wonderful pleasant surprise. In town for a few days and trying to find Friday night last minute reservations. They had a couple times avail so wasn’t expecting much but found a complete GEM! Only 15 tables in and out but intimate, neighborhood, yet sophisticated, table clothes, some peeps dressy, some not, very welcoming. All homemade pasta, service was spot on, delicious fish and all reasonably priced. I will make a point to recommend it and return when I’m back in town. Loved it!
Friday night.,, The service was fast, attentive & precise. The food was phenomenal! We had a table for 6 & were late because no parking, but they were accommodating. The buratta, salads & caprese were fresh & delightful. The pastas were hot & flavorful. The fresh bread… you can’t get enough of it. We tried all 5 desserts & my gosh- off the hook! The favorites were the tiramisu, amaretto dessert & chocolate cake. The pistachio gelato was superb, too. Highly recommend!
Lovely meal and delightful service. Pleasantly surprised by the price point.
Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful preparation and an overall 5-star experience!
The Calamari appetizer is outstanding...perfectly cooked calamari, grilled, with delicious beans, celery and onion vinaigrette..very lightly dressed.. I had the Lentil Soup as an entree, but it was too light for an entree. It could have used both salt and pepper. My husband had the Fettuccine Bolognese.. very good.. wished I had ordered it. Very pleasant and lovely surroundings, excellent service. Can't wait to go again!
Excellent food all around and good service, considering coming out of the pandemic. Enjoyable evening.
Outstanding experience all the time! Great food and great staff! Aldo, you're the best!!!
We wanted a quiet place for a gathering after a reception at Studio Gallery down the street, this was perfect! Excellent food and a wonderful neighborhood feel, hope to get back there soon!
The food was good overall, however the fettuccine pasta was too salty. otherwise all was good!
Food is amazing! Very authentic. Staff and owner are very friendly. Make you feel welcome and like family. Highly recommend!
Very Nice dinner here. the food was delicious and we were able to sit with our friends and visit without being rushed. Seems like a neighborhood gem. Lots of good entrees to choose from. The strawberry butter leaf salad was excellent, light and refreshing. We all had something different and everyone enjoyed their meal. Servers and manager were friendly and helpful. Even offered to call a cab when our Uber driver was late in arriving.
Party of three enjoyed our summer evening outdoor dining;
Our lasagne and mushroom pasta entrees were most delicious
and grilled veggies were crisp and nicely seasoned! Service was personable and quietly efficient. Indoor dining was quite full and patrons were happy too with their wine and desserts !!!
What a delightful find within walking distance of the Fairmont San Francisco! A neighborhood gem with delicious food and outstanding service. The owner was generous with his time and attention. Our server was knowledgeable and engaging. Look forward to our next meal at Ristorante Milano.
Grand Evening … Ristorante Milano had everything we were needing & more… Our recommended wine not on the list was found ! DiVINE ! Ambiance handled … Our server was charming and funny! Now, for why you are here! THE FOOD! Mushroom- Gorgonzola Crostine… Burata fennel salad … Wild Boar stuffed ravioli- HOMEMADE pasta only here! Fettuccine with Marsala cream & Italian sausage / spices !
Out of this world! Desert a lovely lemon ricotta light but dense cheesecake with a fresh berry compote … say AHHHHHH & a lovely Port ! Ciao Bella …
Very nice restaurant! No fault of restaurant we had very loud voices from next table! Gnocchi was amazing!
I have been here a couple times and I have always had the best experience! Really recommend it .
So good. From the the first glass of wine to the porto, from the fegato to the chocolate cake, everything was wonderful. The wait staff is great, the kitchen staff produce wonders, open windows provide circulating air, every diner was happy, masks were worn by staff but not required of diners (though I keep mine handy). Every course sent 6 completely empty plates back to the clean-up staff. So delicious. Can't recommend highly enough. (And open Mondays, also a nice feature)
Wonderful dining experience in this rather tiny, but authentic Italian restaurant. Parking was easy. The food was delightful - homemade pasta (puttanesca, pomodoro), savory veal mascarpone, unusual-yet-delicious mushroom/gorgonzola bruschetta, freshest salad every, a very nice Chianti, and gelato served by very professional, yet friendly wait staff. Highly recommended!
Wonderful little neighborhood Italian restaurant comparable to some of the better ones you’d find in the Northeast and Upper Atlantic. Amazing pasta, great ambiance and top notch service!
Excellent food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Clearly a locals’ favorite.
This was our family's first visit to this restaurant but it will definitely not be our last. There were 5 of us and everyone thought their meals were fantastic.
The food was good and the ambience was great. Would come back.
Such a cute place to eat at! If you’re visiting out of town, highly recommend this restaurant for some good authentic Italian food. The staff as well was very friendly and sweet.
Food is consistently good. Wait staff is personal and very well versed on menu and wines.
Feels like a wonderful neighborhood restaurant.
A hidden gem. Great food, excellent service at every stage of the meal. Convivial atmosphere in simple but pleasant surroundings. We go often.
