Great Food. Great wine. What more could you want. O.K., the restaurant is a little crowded, tight fit, but it's great food. The swordfish was excellent. the fettucine pasta with milano red sauce was delicious. We loved the grilled squid appetizer. And the sardines were excellent. The Tiramisu and gelato vanilla ice cream was great. We definitely want to go back for more.
Birthday dinner for my daughter. Service was excellent and they were solicitous if the event.
Love this bit of Mexico - eat here every time we are in SF - for over 10 years we realized!
This in one of the best Italian restaurants in SF. The food is outstanding.
As always, this restaurant is spot on. Aldo, the most gracious owner and host is always there to greet you. My first visit to this restaurant was 1980, and it has never been a disappointment. The food is authentic and reminds me of my Italian grandmother's cooking. Portions are an appropriate size with a variety of delicious items to choose from. I always look forward to going back.
Great meal. Good service. Did not feel rushed. Wish I'd found this place years ago. One visit, and it became one of my favorite restaurants. And I eat out a lot. A little noisy but then I'm and older fellow.
First - the staff was wonderful! The menu selections were varied so something for everyone. Extensive wine list so our waiters suggestions were very helpful. Highly recommended!
Fantastic! A SF gem. The food was wonderful, the service was attentive but nearly invisible, and the wine suggestions were spot-on. Highly recommend!
This family own restaurant run by family gave us excellent service and we would definitely go back there again.
Appetizer of beets and intermezzo of pasta was phenomenal! We both enjoyed the wonderful dishes of lamb chops and veal that were presented as well as the delicious chocolate appetizer.
My only disappointment is that after stating on OpenTable and reminding the staff about my spouses birthday that no mention or recognition was done.
It was done only after the desert at which point were we provided an after dinner cordial. Still was a great place and yes we’d go back
Excellent food and wine ambiance service noise level challenging for conversation
This is our favorite neighborhood Italian restaurant that also does a wonderful job with their nightly fish special.
Wonderful experience, incredible wine and great food.
We were greeted the owner Aldo and he was very helpful in helping choose our entrees and also suggestion for our wine. We will definitely go back soon!
This was my first visit to Ristorante Milano and it will definitely not be the last. The owner Aldo seated us at our table. The whole staff was outstanding. The Carpaccio di Tonno was served with arugula with true sashimi grade tuna. A very generous serving. My wife had the Fettucine alla Ghiotta which was cooked to perfection. The pasta special that night was the lasagna. The thin sheets of pasta were very delicate and the ragu was amazing. The Tiramisu is as good as one can get.
The food was delicious, the service was great, the hosts were very caring and kind and the ambiance was very pleasant and relaxing. It is one of my new favorite neighborhood restaurants!
I asked for a table by the window for my birthday dinner and they placed us in a quiet space by the window. The food was fresh and delicious. We had grilled vegetables, homemade pasta with seafood, wild salmon was cooked perfectly and the wine was lovely too. I highly recommend.
Great Italian cuisine!
Disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner. Too many people packed in, had to wait despite a reservation. Food was fine, but not fantastic. Owner very nice.
I had visitors in town from Italy and was somewhat hesitant to take them to an Italian restaurant I didn't know. They said it was the real thing! True Italian cooking! The gnocchi was amazing! Excellent Italian wines, too
We love love love Milano’s!
Great wine selection, owner checked in on our meal. Slow Italian dining. Excellent tiramisu. Gnocchi was a bit heavy, better without Gorgonzola we think. Truffle pasta delicious! Risotto special also yummy.
I got the fresh made fettuccine milanese, which is more a bolognese style meatsauce, but very well made. I enjoyed that. As a main I took fish of the day which was a fresh piece of salmon with panfried zucchini battons, baked ptotatoes and mushrooms in a lemon white wine reduction. I hope to go there again very soon. Very friendly staff. The place does get busy though.
Had a very nice dinner at RM. Have been going there more the twenty years and it does not disappoint. A very nice salad of the day, excellent veal saltimbocca, great chocolate almond cake and crostata. Nice Italian Sangiovese.
Great food, super service. I enjoyed dinner very much. Not a quiet place to talk though
Our yearly trip to SF brings us here year after year. Always a favorite.
We never miss a chance to have the gnocchi probably the best we have ever had.
This year I had the veal, very tender wonderful lemon sauce. The beet ravioli were yum and grilled veggies always spot on.
This year the service was not up to its usual 5 star good to matrix wine back on the wine list.
My girlfriend found this spot for my birthday a couple years back, the best pasta we have ever had in our lives! We make it almost a monthly thing now, the service is great! It's a small, cute little place and their desserts are absolutely amazing as well. You'd be doing yourselves a huge service by going here and understanding the greatness.
We were looking for good Italian this weekend, and boy, did we find it! Open Table never fails! The table seating was a little cozier than my 6'-3" frame likes, but otherwise the atmosphere was charming. I tried the Minestrone and it was flavorful and served piping hot. I tried the lasagna special and it, too, was delicious. The pasta was not too heavy and the ragu was very tasty. My wife's pasta was even better! We split a dessert of the Chocolate torte with a scoop of vanilla gelato and it really was the icing on the cake. Only downside - the Italian red wine "paired" on the daily special menu did not have the polish I would have hoped for. But the service was great and we will definitely visit again!
Great food great hospitality!
Authentic northern Italian cuisine along with gracious, accommodating service. Very popular restaurant - plan to make reservations in advance! Ciao bella!
Very authentic! Every dish delicious.
A neighborhood gem that remains excellent and charming in every way for over 30 years. We have been going there since the original owners and today everything was as tasty as it was on our forst visit. Homemade pastas were delicious and the Saltimbocca remains a favorite. Good wine list and personable service added to the wonderful evening. Loved it once again!
Excellent restaurant. Delicious cutlery licking food and nicest owner and the staff. Our favorite dessert wasn’t available so they gave another complimentary dessert. Also, met a lovely elderly couple who has been coming to the restaurant on New Year’s Eve from the last 30 years. Our new year eve was totally made. We are so going back there again and will bring friends.
We had a reservation for New Years Eve dinner. What a wonderful experience. The meal was delicious, simply yummy. The staff and owner were attentive and first class. Finally the cost was tremendous value. We drive from Santa Cruz and will be back. Am looking forward to returning with San Francisco friends for the start of a city evening.
My partner and I wound up here for New Year's Eve. It was a cozy spot to share champagne and eat a delicious meal before heading into the rest of the evening! I liked the atmosphere and we were seated promptly. It was cold out so we were all bundled up but it was quite warm inside so having removable layers was a plus.
My boyfriend's lasagna was superb. My seafood risotto was also really delicious; the seafood was perfectly cooked. The tiramisu was so good we got one to go. What a great place to have our last dinner of 2017! Thanks for the delicious food and yummy treats!
Marco and Roberto provide such incredible service. Our meals, as before, were great. We brought two couples that has not been to RM before and now say it has to be their favorite in SF.
Wonderful authentic Italian. Every dish was a delight. Great atmosphere and service. We ended up ordering two desserts and finishing both. Best tiramisu ever!
Wonderfully run, small, friendly and excellent neighborhood Italian. Aldo and his team are very welcoming and attentive and give solid recommendations. Homemade pastas were excellent (amatriciana, puttanesca, mushrooms with sausage cream). Appetizers (sardines with greens, calamari on white beans) were fresh, delicious and attractively presented.
