Our favorite Italian in SF. Always homemade and fresh. Loved every dish!
We've been coming to Ristorante Milano for years for special dinners out with family and friends or for a special date night. The food is always beautiful and fresh, very well-prepared, consistently delicious and totally satisfying without being overly-fussy. The service is great, welcoming and friendly. It's one of our favorite places in the city! We always have a wonderful time there.
Discovered this place 12 years ago. Glad they are still as good as I remember.
Loved the location and ambience. Great wait staff and great food.
Definitely a go back to place.
Simply great food even with a vegetarian menu. Server and service were both outstanding. Had a few friends from oversees who loved the cosy authentic Italian ambience.
A neighborhood gem. Looking forward to returning soon. Dining at Ristorante Milano is a most pleasant experience!
Always a gem !!!! We have been going to this restaurant for years !!! And will continue to do so :-))
Small, authentic Italian restaurant with delicious food. I loved it here!!
Good, not great, food. Will go again.
Awesome experience. Left wanting a little more food
Creative Italian food served with warmth. Definitely a good choice for Valentines Day.
A very good restaurant experience, both for quality wine, food and service. A bit noisy for our group of older women.
Great food! Terrific service and a nice wine selection. The gnocchi was excellent!
We made our reservation for after a show at 9:30. We were on time. Then the waiter rushed us and told us the kitchen was closing so we had to order in a hurry or we would not be able to order. I didn’t have a chance to select anything do I say while my table mates ate quickly. My suggestion to them is don’t take reservations if you plan to close the kitchen )-: Been here many times and have recommended it, but no more.
Wonderful food. Feels like we are indeed in Milan! Made us feel like special guests. A favorite when we are in San Francisco.
This is the best food you can find in the city, period. Aldo, the restaurant owner is the one who greets you at the door, and sees you on your way out. He transforms this restaurant from great to even greater. Truly a great experience every time I go here.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. We have been coming here for almost 30 years. Cozy ambiance, friendly staff. Delicious food. Ciao!
WONDERFUL as usual. HOMEY,GREAT CHICKEN LIVERS AND VEAL CHOP. THANKS ALDO!
Celebrated a bday dinner and got a table in the semiprivate front room. Amazing food and service!
always a pleasure to dine here. Food is fantastic and service wonderful.
30 years of incredible food in a warm, neighborhood setting. Owners and staff very warm and welcoming.
Every year we are in SF for a meeting. Our anniversary falls during this trip, for the past 6 years we have eaten here. Food is incredible we always get the gnocchi as an appetizer...like eating clouds in an awesome sauce. Every and all meals over the years have been wonderful. Great wait staff... waiting for next year
Food is fabulous as it was the last time we were here. We sat at a table for four in the small room to the right of the entrance to the restaurant. Only two other ladies were seated behind us. Until the ladies started screeching at the top of their voices after a couple of drinks, I thought we were in for a nice quiet dinner. Two other fellas were seated at a third table while we were into our meal and the two ladies continue to raise the decibels more than the other six of us combined. What to do in the future? The owner gave us one of the best tables in the entire restaurant !
Very nice peolple and good food, but much too noisy.
I've been here several times when visiting SF. The food is always perfect and the small setting is great. They are very good at managing their reservations and keeping customers happy while in the restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
The food was very good and the restaurant is charming. The service was very slow and perfunctory. They seemed to be understaffed in the night we went.
Wonderful place, highly recommend! Went for birthday celebration and they treated us like special guests. This is the experience you want when you go to a restaurant knowing you will be paying at the high end.
Fantastic food and excellent service. One of the best spots we have found in SF!
- outstanding care and service
- great wine list and assistance
- owner/manager always there
- very accommodating with seating needs
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday. The restaurant owner greeted us at the door, and made sure the experience was very special. The staff is attentive, friendly, and reminded us of the wonderful food and hospitality that we experienced while visiting Italy.
Amazing food, service and ambiance.
We went for dinner on New Years Eve. Although the menu was different than what was posted online, the food was amazing. I had the gnocchi and my husband had the mozzarella chicken. We also had the squash bruschetta! Amazing! For desert you have to try the pears!
Real Italian, superb service and amazing food. Will definitely return.
I was expecting superb Italian food based on all reviews, so I admit I went there with high expectations , but sadly food here was at best - OK.
Veal was very under seasoned, the cannellini beans in grilled calamari appetizer were undercooked and under seasoned, the risotto was swimming in cheese, the seafood pasta seemed weirdly proportioned with a mound of pasta and few pieces of seafood.
On the positive note, gnocchis were light and well made.
Definitely for the price (~$80 pp) I’d expect much higher quality food. I’m afraid we won’t be back.
Chef Aldo's Ristorante Milano is always a must on our visits to S.F. His lasagna - exquisite ragu in béchamel - should be entered in the National Trust of Perfect Food! Even if you don't normally order lasagna (because of the obvious thick-layered pasta most often seen), make the exception to try this and your conversion will be permanent! Beautifully prepared and presented Fegato di Pollo and an imaginative salad rounded out our repast - but all of us are still swooning over the divine lasagna! Grazie mille & Bravo Aldo!!
Outstanding food, great service, beautiful table tucked into a little alcove with a panoramic view of the neighborhood. One of our favorite places. Will be back. Gary and Cathy.
We heard about this restaurant on "Check Please Bay Area", and it lived up to the show participants' enthusiasm. The restaurant is cozy and charming, and the service was warm and friendly and helpful. The owner, Aldo, came over to greet us. The food and wine were delicious and reasonably priced (I did splurge on house-made pasta with shaved truffles). We live on the Peninsula, but we'll make an effort to come back.
It was really great food! It was over priced. The waitress was sweet!
