Every detail and part of each recipe served at the restaurant is made from complete scratch, from the pasta and sauces, to the puff pastry and creams in our delicious desserts!
We also serve special dinners off menu which can be reserved in advance, ranging from $37 to $45 per person. These special dinners consist of a family style 3 course meal with an abundant amount of tastings for each course with different tastes of cuisines based on meat, seafood/fish, and vegetarian recipes.
Besides dining in and carrying out, Daniela is also available to cater your special events such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, etc.
Food had very little flavor, service was poor, and wine selection was very limited.
This has become one of our favorite Baltimore restaurants. It's a lovely and intimate space, and the food is outstanding. Sardinian cuisine is similar to Italian, but with some twists that make it interesting. I've had nothing but delightful experiences at Daniela.
Really unique food - not what you would find in every other Italian restaurant in town. And it was delicious! We shared the frito misto, verde salad then had a full meal and dessert - I was full but the food was so light I was not uncomfortably stuffed - and believe me there was plenty of food! Staff was very welcoming and kind - gave helpful descriptions and recommendations. Good value for wine. All in all a wonderful evening- I will come back.
The restaurant was adorable. We all had a wonderful time, and will definitely come back!
Wonderful, quaint space. Great food. Great people running the place.
What a fantastic place, cozy, inimitable service, family-owmed with the mom being the chef, u feel u r dining in an italian house with so much love and generosity. Definitely top 3 italian and top 10 overall Baltimore’s restaurants.
Stefano is a wonderful server. Just the right amount of attention and humor.
I love that this is a locally owned, family business with so many dishes coming from their home recipes.
Maybe it is because it was a slow night but they were very slow to warm up to us. We weren't sure who our waiter would be as no one really spoke to us. Most of us thought our food was pretty good. I ordered the lasagne and it was really just OK.
Daniela is a unique and special find in Baltimore. The restaurant features dishes typical of the owner's native Sardinia, and exploring this different aspect of Italian cuisine is a real treat. All of the pasta is homemade, and you will find some here that are not available anywhere else in the area. The dining room is small, cozy, and home-like. Daniela's son, Stefano, waited on us and provided excellent recommendations. We felt like family! This was our first visit, but we will definitely return!
Good food, slow service. Veal dish not very generous. Need better music and maybe some carpeting to decrease noise.
I had the lobster & shrimp stuffed ravioli that had a smattering of sauce. My husband had the fettuccine that was mushy and my friend had the chicken & mushrooms that were okay with the accompanying saffron risotto being very good actually. Her husband's lasagna was good too, however his caprese salad was a joke – cherry tomatoes, unseasonably not good with little balls of mozzarella and some spices thrown on top. My friend's dessert had nothing creamy or orange zesty about it- just a dried up pastry ball with maybe 1/2 teaspoon of cream . My "custard" came in a plastic bowl, like a plastic carryout bowl and could have been Sarla Lee. Most importantly the service was WAY off & totally innattentive.
I loved the neighborhood feel of this place-it’s very cozy and has a family feel. Service was good considering we had a party of 7 and the place was packed on a Tuesday night...everyone loved their food and left full/happy. Excited to come back and explore the Hampden neighborhood a bit more!
Ristorante Daniela is a nice neighborhood restaurant. The building is cozy and the service was very good.
I was excited to try this place, but it disappointed. The service was decent, no issues there. We had the meat antipasto platter. No crackers, no jams or spreads, just a few slices of three different meats and cubed cheese. The veal my husband got was seasoned with way too much lemon and the side of potatoes was nothing special. I was very excited for the curlurgiones but VERY disappointed. The dough was too thick, the filling tasteless and I had to request a red sauce for some flavor, but that did not do it. On top of that, it was bland and not hot (neither dish was hot). We got a dessert, the banana Nutella pastry, and again, nothing special about that either. I am a tough critic as I am Italian American, and actually a pasta instructor as well so I had high hopes but they were not met unfortunately.
Daniela’s is always fantastic! We have never had a bad meal there; everything on the menu is scrumptious!
All kinds of Gluten Free pasta options. Great food and ambiance.
We always love the home cooked meals at Daniela’s. The homemade pasta is always fresh and delicious. The sauce was exceptional good. We all enjoyed our dinners.
This was our first experience at this restaurant. We found the food extremely salty. We also felt very rushed. We did like the wine.
The food was very salty . We went on. Sunday , perhaps, another day would be better.
It is a very nice restaurant and service was great.
The best Italian in Baltimore. The real deal. No need to go to Little Italy. Everything is home made.
Always fabulous! Always enjoy the veal entree.
A reliable favorite restaurant of ours. Feels good, tastes good. A great value.
Great selection of food, all very well prepared. We enjoyed the mushroom lasagna and chicken involtini. The Francesca salad, with avocado and tomatoes, would have been better had the tomatoes not been refrigerated. The wine list contains many good values. We’ll have to try one of their Sardinian selections next time.
Have been here several times and have never been disappointed! The food, service and ambiance are all fantastic! A little gem in a big city!!
The service was poor at best. It was a very busy night. The salad was very dry and they charged extra for the anchovies!! I had veal scallopini. It looked like dry leather floating in oil. The chicken was also a very unappealing dish visionally and tasted nasty. I will never go back or recommend this “restaurant “. Not a good wine list.
Great place. They just need to store the beer in a colder fridge. Otherwise great food and staff.
Great food, good portions. People are always friendly. Only problem, as always with Hamden, is parking. Maybe they should think about a getting a parking lot?
Excellent food, selection, ambiance and service! The staff was friendly and informative and the restaurant had a nice, old world feel to it.
Wonderful food, adorable atmosphere, staff was so knowledgeable and truly cared about us and our meal!
One of my favorite Baltimore restaurants—everything I’ve eaten here has been extraordinary. Their gnocchi with tomato and pesto is outrageously delicious. Family run and friendly with food worthy of any fancy dining room in town.
Felt like “home”. Reminded me of my grandfather’s cooking. Homemade pasta was amazing. Caprese salad was the best ever! Properly seasoned and the presentation was beautiful. Veal was amazing! Couldn’t have had a better dinner!
We loved the restaurant!
Sat on porch and everything was excellent.
We all would return and recommend to all.
Wonderful food, VERY authentic. Stefano is GREAT!!!!
Service staff appeared to be confused. Poor follow through from staff.
Food wasn’t that great.
Can’t speak to the noise level accurately becuase we went so early. Food and service were, as always, impeccable. Ambiance took a point off becuase the back room was pretty hot. They only have one window unit which made it louder in the first room, but then we kind of regretted moving becuase the room in back was so warm.
It was a very hot day out, and the A/C struggled to keep up. So dinner was warm, but besides that it's a delightful small place and I'll be going back.
This is our new special occaision place to go! Yummy homemade Italian (Sardinian) dishes with personal service! The pasta and pastries are made in-house daily and every dish has a fresh, delicious taste. We loved the bronzini, veal, seafood and chicken are made with such care. Salads are lightly dressed and tasty. I am gluten sensitive and our waiter suggested ways to have dishes prepared to my liking. He told me that if I called a day ahead, gluten free HOMEADE pasta could be made to order by his mom, the chef. That's what I call service! You truly are made to feel special by all the servers, never rushed. The rooms are cozy and on a 95 degree night, the AC was having a hard time keeping the temps down. We will be back on a cooler day. I'm only afraid others will find out about this special gem!!!
Everything was fresh and delicious as always. If you want fresh homemade pasta this is the place to go.
pretty terrible. service was incredibly slow and food was mediocre at best. we were the only table inside the restaurant for our 2:30 reservation. there were a few small tables outside finishing up when we arrived. there was just one waiter there the entire time, and we sat for at least 20 min after being seated before he even brought us water. it took another 20+ minutes to bring us a bottle of wine. by contrast, the frita mixta arrived quickly after we ordered it but it was cold, which grossed my husband and i out. also the antipasti plate was $15 and consisted of a few cold cuts, 5 olives, and tiny cubes of some unspecified crappy white cheese. the main entrees were ok, but not worth the price tag. if we had not had our two small children with us we would have left. Also, for reference, our family (husband, his parents, our kids) go out for “linner” pretty much every Sunday. We like to go mid-afternoon so we can still go to nicer places (we are foodies) but not bother people with our kiddos. We have been to tons of different types of restaurants over the past few years. This was honestly the first place we’ve been to that everyone agreed we would never go back to. very disappointing.
