Went for Easter Brunch
The mimosas, rack of lamb, fresh oysters and king crab legs to the carving station and omelet station were all just perfect! Service was top notch and very attentive. Fantastic.
The food was ok. Was looking forward to
This restaurant has changed chefs several times. The one they have currently is excellent. The menu has an Italian flair with suitable variety, and the wine list is top notch. Great romantic setting and superb service! Wonderful evening all around.
Intimate setting. Good overall but not superb. Will revisit in the future
Very nice romantic restaurant
Love this place and the service is excellent
The ambiance, service, and food were "5 Star"!
Special thanks to Raul, Noor, Jorge, and Oscar.

Beautiful setting as usual
This entire hotel is a hidden gem here in Houston. From the moment my wife and I arrived we were blown away. Never met a staff so friendly and welcoming. The decor inside the restaurant was one of a kind. The food was delicious and exquisite and the service was immaculate. All the servers at dinner were very knowledgeable and we loved their recommendations. They made our evening one to remember. We will definitely be returning again soon.
Our waitress was fantastic. We enjoyed the intimacy of the space and the ability to enjoy our conversation without a lot of competing noise. And the food was exceptional. We plan on returning.
Our waitress disappeared - no coffee refills, we had to chase a busboy for our check... Disappointing experience.
Amazing evening.
The food and service here are impeccable! Every dish is freshly prepared, and the service is always attentive, and welcoming. We came for Sunday Brunch, which is always wonderful.
Service & food great, smaller menu. It was very, very quiet in the restaurant. Ambiance felt like you were in Venice or Florence. Beautiful interior.
Read how great this spot is in Houston mag so gave it a try, really disappointing. The octopus appetizer was so chewy it was practically inedible. We had 2 fish dishes, just ok, definitely not worth the price & I wouldn’t return.
A special place, remind me of a place a favorite restaurant in Tuscany. Excellent ambiance, great food. Nancy was our server, she was efficient, friendly and welcoming. They definitely made our wedding anniversary celebration memorable.
Ristorante
We dine at Ristorante Cavour whenever we stay at the Hotel Granduca. In the past, depending on the chef, the food has been hit or miss. But recently they have been spot on excellent! My husband and I had an amazing, delicious dinner. So happy this restaurant has gotten it's groove back. From appetizers to dessert the meal was both beautifully presented and delicious. I savored every bite! Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening :)
Absolutely wonderful service and ambiance, and the food was delicious! We yearn for good Italian in the Dallas area and this hit the spot! Beautiful candlelit room, very romantic.
fantastic place , great staff and food! would recommend for any romantic occasion.
Very small, no music, over loud guests on another table ruined the atmosphere. Requested music which was not provided. No male waiters only girls who were adequate but not very professional. We were staying at the hotel where we have several times. Would not go there again. Should have gone to Etoile across the street!!!!!
My wife and I have eaten at Cavour 20 times over the past 5 years or so and we have spent around $4,000. The ambiance is lovely: carpet, tablecloths, tables reasonably spaced. It is generally pleasantly quiet. The do play recorded music but it's not dreadful and is low in volume.
The food always has varied from very good to excellent. Sadly our last meal was dreadful. We each had crab cakes which were dry and were served with a very spicy mustard which did not pair well with relatively delicate crab meat. I had branzino which was served over a mountain of mashed potatoes and she had flounder that was served with too many fingerling potatoes and pickled artichokes which did not suit the flounder. Both dishes were smothered in uninteresting sauces.
We were so disappointed in our meal that I tried to call the manager of the Hotel Granduca the next day to describe our experience. I left a message but 24 hours later there has been no response. Hence, this bad review. I don't think that we will return unless we hear that there is a new chef.
Treating my 85 year old Mom to your lovely food, service, and ambience
This occasion was our 47th anniversary. We always like the quality of the food and atmosphere at Ristorante Cavour. It is definitely one of the most quiet, romantic places in Houston. Our food was done very nicely and the service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. They gave us a complimentary strawberry coulis panna cotta for dessert in recognition of our anniversary. This may become our anniversary go to place.
Very nice place for a romantic dinner date. Quiet and great decor. The food was somewhat lacking. There is better Italian food in Houston.
The service was so bad I couldn't even focus on the food.
Negative stars!
really a let down from my last visit . almost sat myself to begin with- steaks were terrible - left over half of each entrée
This place never disappoints!
The food is always wonderful and the service is first class.
What I love about Cavour is that the ambience is elegant and yet not stuffy, and it is NOT noisy! We are always able to have a lovely conversation without having to shout.
It is a gem indeed..
Excellent food, Excellenr Staff! Live the Sunday brunch-nice selections, especially if you like fresh seafood or pasta. The food is always Beautifully arranged, and offers a nice variety. A super-attentive staff ensures that the food/buffet is amply supplied, and that the food area is inviting.
Everything was great except the noise. The staff was especially gracious by serving us proseco while we waited for our table.
However, the was a large birthday group at the other end. They were having a very good time to the extent their noise prevented us from having much of a conversation.
Next time I will call before we leave for the restaurant to learn if there's a large group. If so, I'll ask for another room or cancel.
The restaurant is very nice and the staff is friendly. The original waitress we had was hard to understand and she did not understand us either. The Spaghetti ametricana style was sub par. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was somewhat flavorless. The dessert was great and so was the ensalta caprese.
Thank goodness for Ristorante Cavour! It's my "go-to" place for delicious food in QUIET surroundings. I can actually have a conversation there without having to yell. Food is great; service is impeccable; and the restaurant is lovely and serene. It's a great place for a relaxing, rejuvenating, civilized meal.
The old brunch was much better...this was overpriced, boring breakfast hotel food. Bring the old brunch back...
Lovely, quiet restaurant with very good food and superb service. I have been to Ristorante Cavour 4 times and will go back happily. It's extremely pleasant to find a restaurant that combines good food in a quiet setting so that I am able to carry on a conversation without having to yell. The lovely ambiance is enjoyable and noteworthy in this town that has many restaurants that assault the ear.
Great service, awesome appetizers, felt really comfortable
Very disappointed in new menu. What use to be a great place for Sunday brunch is now not recommended as a place to go. The cost per person is less and so is the quality of food. We will not return unless the menu is improved or reverts back to the previous style menu. Will not recommend to anyone.
Steve Redd
I found this visit rather disappointing. I thought the food lacked flair although my companion was quite happy with her flounder.
Always a favorite of mine. Can count on great service and great food. This restaurant is an upscale gem
Have taken advantage of their BYOB and corkage policy on wine probably a dozen times before and even quite recently. Was extremely disappointed to learn upon arrival that they have no such corkage policy. Either the Matre 'D was ill-informed, rude, or stupid. He said this would be the last time they would accommodate us. Very disappointing.
Best Brunch value in town!
the buffet is rich and varied and the classic brunch entrees are the perfect size.
Dessert tables many options that are very very good...
