The truffle dinner was amazing! Another great creation by your fabulous chef Maurizio.
He never disappoint us.
This time he surpassed himself!
Eating outside in the Veranda has become our favorite (and safest) place in Houston!!
Wonderful service and delicious food. Beautiful environment.
We confirmed our 7:45 outdoor seating table by text and we confirmed with a phone call that they made, and upon arrival they told us we would have to wait 45 minutes because they were full with first come first serve guests. The manager proceeded to check the outdoor area and said he could seat us right away. It was so it was just annoying that it was our first pandemic outing and it was not enjoyed. It took 45 minutes before the waiter took our drink order and we didn’t get our meal till close to 10 o’clock.
Great. Service was lacking ..seemed to be inexperienced staff. The milanese was bland. Cheese plate, granduca wine was great. We're going to go again with pleasure but they seem to be trying to do continental service at guests inconvenience.
Valentine’s Day. Beautiful hotel. Very nice staff and service.
Ordered off cart menu on Valentines Day. Food was ok...wait staff was extremely short handed, felt sorry for the guy. Again, my experience this time was pretty much sub-par.
Wonderful food and service!
Chef Maurizio is absolutely incredible took the time to come over and ask how our meal was. Everyone was kind, welcoming. The food was amazing, fresh and flavourful
Perfect place to celebrate , be indulged and stay safe. Love this place and the fantastic service and attention. Lili made my birthday extra special- we will be back again ;) thank you
unhappy and frankly would never come back to this god awful place.
me and my boyfriend decided to have dinner here for New Years because every other place was closed or booked for that day.
At the beginning we were sat very fast and didn't have to wait for that long, but once we did........ oh boy that is when the AWFUL night unfolded.
We had to wait 30 minutes to even have someone come by to get us water,...... and once the waiter arrived to the table he didn't even make eye contact or introduce his self,..... just,........... " what are you having,........ ( wow just wow )
Once I started talking he put his finger in my face and said " wait , my other table is being sited " and he quickly darted off and we did see him for the rest of the night,.......
of course i complained and still nothing,..... the floor manager didn't even come over to even say sorry , he just acted like we didn't even matter.
I wonder if,....... if we were a different race would we have been given the same treatment ?
Wonderful event for us. The staff was stressed by the number of tables they had to cover but otherwise everything was first class.
Slow service. Very slow service.
Had an outdoor table. Problem is that there was a smoker at a table near us. Ruined the experience. Why do they not allow smoking inside, but allow it outside. Many more nonsmokers than smokers. Won't make that mistake again. Food was good.
FAR BETTER THAN I REMEMBER!!!
We went for lunch on the Veranda. Elegant, excellent service, and the surprise was the quality, and flavors of the food. We had not been in a while, and we were delighted.
It was quiet being a Monday, but our server was efficient, and appropriately inquisitive, the F & B manager came by, and spent a few kind moments discussing the hotel. Overall, a secret place, I can't wait to return.
AMAZING! Can't believe this jewel of a restaurant is in Houston. And the food was outstanding! Wish they would have a few more creative signature cocktails.
Pizza was great as well as the service and outdoor dining was lovely
The service was very slow for the number of diners. Our reservation was for 7pm and we didn't leave until almost 9pm. Then they brought appetizer and main course at the same time and the dessert choice was not what we asked for. The food was delicious and the waiters kept apologizing for our long wait.
We had an amazing lunch, the dishes from appetizers to main dish was delicious. Chef Maurizio was very hospitable, accommodating and friendly. Adrian our server was excellent as well. The ambiance at the restaurant was so nice, we felt at home, safe and well cared for.
We love coming to this restaurant, consistently providing impeccable meal and service.
Thank you, we will definitely be back soon. Wearing mask and following restaurant COVID restaurant requirements wasn’t an issue for us.
Eating outside in the Veranda is the perfect place for this social distancing time.
Live music on Friday evening is back, and it's great to dine and listen to great entertainers.
The restaurant is elegant and has a good ambiance, however the food is very mediocre and overpriced.
Social distancing is observed and service remains excellent.
The Chef is always preparing wonderful meals and the Restaurant outdoors is a perfect spot.
We keep coming back because it’s one of our favorite!
A quiet and private location for a nice lunch in a relaxing environment
We went during the "reopening" and had a very nice quite dinner
Your Sunday brunch is outstanding.
The piano music in the lounge is the perfect accompaniment to great food.
And the complementary Mimosas are an added bonus!
Chef Ferrarese outdid himself with the best Risotto we have eaten in Houston. He should know , he is from the Piedmont region.
Our Branzino was spectacular as well... a wonderful meal for everyone!
A fabulous experience from start to finish!! Cocktails at the piano bar, before dinner, is a must! Great singer and piano player are awesome at the piano bar. Dinner is absolutely fantastic! It’s an experience that makes you feel as if you have traveled to Italy and dining outI
A magical evening!
We have dined here many times. The restaurant is going through yet another management change. However the new restaurant manager is quite good. The food was outstanding but the wine list not. Said to get an overhaul which is needed. Few great selections and some are severely over priced.
Late Valentine night, sat with dirty table waiting for 10 minutes. Then a completely unsynchronized experience with the 3-course dinner, had to ask for a menu, ask for wine-list and at an overpriced rate for a dinner experience, I could have better at my house. Absolutely nothing special, just pure average food, wine, and service. There are better places in Houston to spend $300 for 2 persons.
Excellent Valentines Menu, great atmosphere, excellent service.
Honestly, I don't know where to begin. I searched OpenTable for a great restaurant to try for Valentine's day and came across Ristorante Cavour and Bloom and Bee and brought them to my partner for review. After we reviewed the pre-fixed (and pricey) menus of each, we landed on Ristorante Cavour, intrigued by the promises of canapes, prosecco, and lobster. Alas, the day arrives for our reservation and we save our appetites and arrive hungry, anxiously awaiting an elegant and tasty meal. To our dismay, we arrive to a very traditionally fancy looking restaurant.. but that was pretty much the only thing it had going for it. The lights were bright and all the way up, the place was cramped, the chairs horribly uncomfortable, the crowd extremely judgemental, and there was 0 music. We are seated and waited a good 20 mins to even be asked if we would like something to drink, which we graciously accepted. We wait another 15 minutes until we receive our microscopic canapes.. a tiny bowl (think salt bowl) with a *taste* of some sort of paste/broth. We order our pre-fixed choices and I got the lobster "salad" appetizer and it was *awful*. Not only was the portion about 2oz, but the lobster tasted dirty, like it came from murky water. It wasn't properly cleaned and by salad, they really mean 5 pieces of assorted microgreens on the side. The veal was perfectly cooked, fell off the bone, and the chef really came after my heart with the marrow. On comes the dessert-- It was as if the chef just threw together everything. The flavors were a mishmash of things that didn't go together, surrounding what tasted like an overly-chewy store bought brownie topped with what tasted like canned frosting and garnished with a flower. I didn't finish it. We left hungry, unsatisfied, not feeling the Valentine's spirit, and feeling swindled out of $240 and promptly drove to buy tacos in hopes of salvaging the night. Overall, the food, ambiance, and service were not up to par. Will not be returning.
We had the ravioli and the ossobuco. They were both delicious!! Just the right portion size. And the service was impeccable! Will definitely be returning.
Service was poor, had to ask for plates to be removed from our table, had to ask for silverware, and ask for water, coffee, never received the Mamosa’s that we supposed to be part of the meal. Quality of the Buffet was nowhere near what we were expecting based on prior experiences. Pianist played so loud we couldn’t have normal conversations.
Sylvain, Chef Mauricio änd Angela were outstanding. My wife has severe allergies and all our issues were accommodated perfectly. An extremely enjoyable and safe evening!! Huge kudos to all the staff at a beautiful venue
We love the place the menu I feel would be better with pasta with meat selections also... a little more diverse menu for normal taste buds
The food was such a disappointment. It used to be wonderful. Things were plated beautifully, looked delicious & had no taste. Hot food not hot enough & appetizers not quite cold enough. There was lovely oyster with caviar ...not very cold & totally no taste. It’s like under seasoned or something. Been there twice lately. Don’t think there will be a third visit.
We had Christmas Brunch, and it was delicious. The lobster tail and caviar were a big hit for most of the guests. My only wish is that the desserts were tastier this time. I remember the Christmas Brunch a few years ago had a beautiful large Yule Log cake that was so fresh and moist. This time, it was very small, cold, and dry. The service from valet to wait staff to management was outstanding. Everyone was extremely attentive. We will definitely return next year!
We love the Sunday Brunch here. Everything is fresh, and there is always a wonderful section of traditional breakfast/Brunch items along with fresh seafood, fruit; and special entrees like today’s sea bass, seafood stew, even tomato basil soup! Service is attentive and courteous, even with the valet service as you enter. A favorite spot!
As always, superior service and excellent selection of food. Added bonus was complimentary picture taking.
The setting is gorgeous. Loved the little bar with a singer, but too crowded until late. I would have given this place excellent ratings, but the service was incredibly slow, though there only two other dining tables filled when we walked into the dining room. Finally had to get up and go to the bar to get a cocktail to bring back . Inexplicable, and no acknowledgment of the glacial speed by staff. The hostess was lovely.
I love elegance, but I also expect food and drink! Have been to the Hotel Granduca in Austin, and did not have this problem there.
