Closed. Out of business.
Got there after making reservations, and restaurant was closed.
Unfortunately Bella Vita was temporarily closed. There was no indication why it was closed nor when it expected to reopen.
Drove from San Jose to here and the restaurant was closed. There should be some homework done on allowing reservations for a place that is closed.
This restaurant is closed and yet still takes reservations.
We got to the restaurant and there was a hand written note that they would be closed for an unclosed period of time. How come Open Table didn't know this? Reservation was made the same day.
Restaurant was closed unexpectedly even though Open Table confirmed reservation. It has a note of apology on the door. We had to find somewhere else to go. Very disappointing.
The owner indicated his partner has closed the business as of Tuesday!
Unfortunately when we arrived the restaurant was closed; there was a sign that just said they had to close. Not sure if just for that night or indefinitely. We have always had a great meal so hoping they will be back.
Normally, I love the restaurant. When we go there the doors were locked. Someone said it closed. No notice. Lots of people waiting to get in.
People are always friendly. The service and the food consistently good.
Pasta portions were small for the linguine vongole and the seafood pasta.
Very nice Italian restaurant with great food and service.
Don’t leave without getting the Toffee Ice Creme Desert! It is to live for.
Very good drinks and food but our favorite was the wonderful waiter— very professional and warm!
If you are looking for good Italian food, this restaurant will hit the spot. We had a variety of different menu items and everyone enjoyed what they had. My only real complaint was the noise "management." We specifically asked to be seated in a quiet area and instead, they put us right next to the main path through the virtually empty restaurant, surrounded by running fountains (the "patio" section). Then a large, noisy group came through and literally stood behind our table having drinks for about 20 minutes before moving into their separate room. Eventually, it all calmed down and we were able to enjoy the rest of our meal. The staff did accommodate our request to turn off the fountains, but did nothing to move the other group through to their own reserved room. So, I'm not sure why this restaurant was on the list of "good for conversation" choices.
The service was great, the food to die for and no Corkage Fee. I like that!
Love the food and ambiance here, parking is easy and service is excellent. Have eaten here many times and would do so again!
Great food and service.
Excellent Italian food and desserts.
The staff is super friendly, which makes eating here perfect. Food is delicious. Thanks for an enjoyable meal.
Excellent food and friendly services. We have been there many times. Great restaurant for family and friends getting together.
6/1/19 As usual a delightful evening. Excellent food and service and friendly atmosphere.
I think this restaurant is the best in Los Altos !
We enjoy this restaurant every trip. The service is exceptional. I enjoyed the fish special: red snapper. A birthday dessert made it even more special.
Family get together
Great local place. Tasty food and reasonably priced.
We were a party of 7 and were given a round table which was perfect and very thoughtful. The wait staff was attentive and not overbearing. Food was very good and I'm looking forward to a return trip. Thank you Bella Vita for a wonderful experience.
The special, Red Snapper with artichoke hearts, capers, and white wine sauce was very good. Served with mashed potatoes and a mix of green beans, carrots, zucchini. The undisclosed price for the special was $32.99. They are no longer open for lunch. When we were there (Saturday night 6:30pm - 8:00pm), there was only about 7 tables of diners. Not sure why business is declining, as it used to have a robust business during the dinner hour. Hoping this restaurant will gain back it's momentum and stay open.
Sorry, but this place looks like it's about to collapse. There's water stains and what appears to be mold in the first area, the main dining space smells funky. The food is pretty bland at best. Really on its last legs all together. Would not recommend
We returned to Restorante Bella Vista because it reminds us of the restaurants we ate at in Italy! The location in a small shopping area is perfect for this authentic restaurant. Not only did the menu have a wide selection of main courses, but our server told us of the several specials for that night. Portions were served hot and were large- I brought home half of my Eggplant Parmesan and enjoyed it the following day. Entrees were served with al dente vegetables and pasta if that were not the main course. Both our server & the owner stopped at our table to make sure everything was prepared to our liking.
There is a large wine list as well as a dessert menu.
We had chicken parmesan and chicken saltimboca. Both were overcooked, but the saltimboca in particular was like shoe leather, inedible.
Celebrations - yes, meet friends - yes, comfort food - yes, special desserts - yes!! Had to have celebration at Bella Vita for cannolli. First experience with cannollis was at BOS little Italy Mike's Pastries; and immediately located only Bella Vita in area with these desserts. Must go for these little pastries - tasty, crunchy, layered with fruit, pistachios, and strawberry/raspberry sauce. Server made sure that number of pastries for each guest (don't want to have a fight over who gets last bite??!) Classic dishes with little extra flavors. Discovered owners are originally from Turkey. Started with calamari - lightly battered, chewy - complimented with tartar and cocktail sauce, and lightly dressed greens. Green lentil soup reminded me of Turkish red lentil with enough crunchiness to lentils in each bite/slurp. Pomodoro cappellini was delicately coated with tomato, capers, lemon, olive oil sauce. Only issue was sat at window booth which meant that conversation from next booth was loud and distracting.
Pleasant ambiance . The waitress was friendly and prompt and quick to refill our water.
NIce, comfortable setting with extensive Italian menu and wine choices. Very pleasant and attentive service. Most food items were very good, though chicken in the saltimbocca was not tender and too chewy. Pasta was delicious. Wine prices, especially by the glass expensive and very over priced--for example the glass price often more than the whole bottle retail price.
Amazing food. Excellent and attentive service. Could not have asked for a better evening.
Wow.. exceeded expectations. As fine Italian food as we’ve had in the Bay Area!
Started with clams in a liquid which we soaked up with fresh bread
Minestrone soup was flavorful but light. Fresh veggies loaded in - perfect
Three entrees: Lobster ravioli in a red and white sauce, pasta hand made, just right. Then mushroom ravioli in Gorgonzola sauce - incredible!
Finally, a classic eggplant parm. Two huge portions, lighting breaded and fried.. tender and tasty along with pasta and broccolini.
Dessert, tiramisu was fine and a surprise - something called sticky taffy - our server insisted we try it - wonderful, sweet but not too much, gooey and yummy.
Service, friendly and efficient
Just a wonderful meal
Food and service were excellent. We went early and place was nice and quiet. Not enough hear. Place was cold.
Just great Italian food, nothing fancy but very delicious.
They served Brussels Sprouts with their mixed side vegetables, unusual.
Worth the time to get there from Campbell.
Great restaurant. Quiet ambience.
The only complaint I had was with their chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was not mixed in with the salad.
this is one of our favorite restaurants in Los Altos
