Risley Hall Hotel

When we arrived early were checked in then went to get a drink. There was only one bar staff on who had just started who was serving the restaurant as well. I asked couldn’t the other guy behind bar help and was told he was underage so we waited ages. Eventually got served and the other couple arrived who we were eating with so we told the waitress we were ready to go through only to be told she couldn’t find our booking when the other man earlier had. She said no problem and took us through only to be told was I a walk in table I said what was she on about as we had booked and confirmed our attendance by email. She apologised and said she couldn’t find the booking. We ordered and asked for water which she forgot and we had to ask again. Not a great start if I’m honest!
1/2 lemon curd tart 1/4 cup cake
No atmosphere
Weak tea and coffee no refills
Once tea was delivered did not see another person
Scones very nice and a whole one each
A great Sunday lunch definitely well worth a visit...
The only reasons to limit most scores to less than 5* is that we are in the dining area next to the bar where a man came in with 2 large dogs only a few yards from where we were eating
The staff were friendly and helpful, the food excellent and good portion sizes. When we visited the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment but this did not detract from a wonderful meal.
We had a lovely meal on Sunday at Risley hall. The food was cooked beautifully well presented and delicious. The service was excellent and the staff very accommodating . Would recommend and book again.
Fantastic service from the lady at the front desk, amazing atmosphere thank you. Beautiful place. Thank you.
Went for afternoon tea. Was delicious and the lady that served us was really accommodating.
Very nice Sunday lunch - good service and food and not overly priced. Would definitely recommend.
