The food was amazing and the service was excellent. My partner and I had a few laughs with the staff.
Food is exceptional and the setting is super cool and relaxed. Tucked away from the hectic King Street its perfect place to chill and grab a good meal. The kimchi udon is outstanding, the Korean fried cauliflower and karaage chicken are both excellent. There is 2 hrs ticketed parking available in the area adjacent to the building
One of the best ramen I've had. They need to bottle that broth and sell it. Only wish there was more noodles in my bowl. Slurp.
Food was interesting and good. We enjoyed every dish
Food is very creative, fresh and delicious. Service always impeccable. Selection and knowledge of wine impressive.
Really enjoyed the four course Autumn set menu at Rising Sun Workshop on a Wednesday night and thought at $60ph it was very good value for the quality of the good. The staff were friendly and made sure we got out in time for an 8pm show at the Seymour. We loved the quirky set up with the bike garage down stairs, particularly as we are both riders and love old motorbikes. Would highly recommend.
Excellent hidden gem in Newtown, very approachable food at a high standard.
We had a group over 6 people, so we had to do the set menu plus 10% service charge. For the price and the amount of food (a bread, taco, scallop, shared salad and main), it was not that great in value. If there had been choice for the main (it was a steak, which not everyone prefers) and included a dessert, it would have been considered good value. Otherwise we would have probably preferred to just order what we wanted from the bar menu, which had a lot more choice and we could pick what and how much we wanted. They were able to accommodate for dietary requirements though, which was appreciated.
I always love dining here. Such a great atmosphere and the food is is beyond delicious.
The service was awesome. We had a Groupon Voucher and brought some friends along. Bec helped us sort out the voucher and was extremely accommodating to all our groups special dietary requirements. I would highly recommend Rising Sun Workshop.
Delicious ramen and great service, the space is also beautiful!
Great food , exceptional service and interesting setting .
This is the second time I’ve dined here. Equally as good! The service is great and consistent with all staff members. The food portions are just right. They are also very commentating of food intolerances and having vegetarian options. Great selection of drinks as well. Will be back for a third time hopefully sometime soon!
Great ambience, great food and great service! Highly recommended.
Excellent quirky and unique food! Loved eating here, can’t wait to go back
Enjoyed ramen and KFC - great space to have lunch - would like to try dinner menu next time
Amazing good, amazing staff and can’t wait to go back !
The food was beautiful and the service was really terrific. Our waitress made this a really fun dinner.
Amazingggg ramen, excellent natural wines (if a little pricey) and super friendly and speedy service. I love this place.
Ramen was excellent, tacos inedible, service sadly not great
Was really looking forward a night out. Food was amazing but the service left a very sour taste and would be difficult for me to return or recommend to a friend. We ordered off the bar menu and as we ordered were asking questions about the meals, the waiter didn't take any notes but assured us she had the order. The food came out in sporadic order with some small plates, mains then small plates so we assumed that some of our small plates were still to come. We were then essentially ignored, found a difficult time to get staff back to our table despite empty glasses and empty plates on our table. We finally got one of the servers and asked about our missing meals, he said he'd check on them but never came back. After another 10 mins finally got our waitress back was able to order the second round of drinks for the night and re asked about our missing meals and said if they hadn't started on them not to worry. They came back and said they were on their way and said we wouldn't have to pay for them but would admit they hadn't put the order in. A big miss for them, we would have order additional meals as they were small meals were more like tasters and the $40 hanger steak was an entre size, due to the service we were also only able to order 2 rounds of over a 90 min sitting and would have ordered more. Seems that they were more geared to couples ordering the chef's menu and a bottle of wine so they didn't have to attend to their tables.
Couldn't fault any aspect of the experience! Staff were attentive and ensured we were completely looked after. Each dish was outstanding and left us feeling satisfied and not over fed.
Stand out for us was the beachworth wine (non-alcoholic) ;)
Good coffee and decent food in a cool atmosphere.
We sat downstairs which we really appreciated so we could see the workshop, we both ride and tinker with cars and motorbikes so right up our alley. The upside was that we were able to chat with one of the owners and learn more about how and why RSW came in to brewing and what is on offer. The food was different or our normal choices and we thoroughly loved every bite. Can’t wait to return for another dinner and join the workshop.
Great Service - our waiters were witty, and were outstanding to answer any queries regarding the food and drinks.
Food was of great quality.
Will definitely be coming again in the future,
Thanks guys!
Best breakfast in the inner west. Choices include breakfast ramen, burnt pork ends with pickled raddish and cucumber and other unique and tantalising options. Totally enjoyable dining experience.
The staff were so lovely and attentive - this paired with incredible food, drinks and a cool venue, made for an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!
We had a great night and lovely food. The wait staff were very friendly as well. Unfortunately it was cold. We asked for the air-conditioning to be turned down a few times but it was still cold. Besides that, we had a lovely night!
We had the chef's tasting menu for dinner. The food was good but I wouldn't say really tasty/flavorsome . The crab tacos didn't have taste at all - we could mostly taste the corn tortilla.
The wine list was pricey and difficult to know what to order when all wines listed were from very small little-known wineries.
Might try again for a more casual lunch
Great food, great people. Interesting and creative space.
The best breakfast ramen ever. A happy landing after being away from the inner west for over 6 months.
Yeah it was awesome, we brought a child with us on our visit and she was well looked after. Fast and friendly service.
Always great here, a great community and well on the way to being a neighbourhood institution.
Terrific if you like Ramen, bit boring for vegetarians
Always a pleasure to be served amazing food by such friendly staff
Ramen didn't feel like a whole thing. Plus it is too far from traditional ramen, where it becomes just a soup (I know the translation of ラーメン). Cannot even compare it to Rararamen or Gogyo. That is why cannot rate that price as adequate.
Filter coffee was bitter. Beans were lovely, great smell, but they fit espresso better.
But thanks anyway.
Always love this restaurant. Food awesome and service too level.
We had the $60 tasting menu, the food was fantastic, and of beautiful quality. We all felt well- fed and couldn't stop remarking on how delicious everything was. I am lactose and allium intolerant; the staff handled it brilliantly and I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. The staff were also lovely, relaxed and accommodating even through a few of the party were late and we lingered for quite a while.
Food was delicious, loved the vibe and the service was quick, attentive and excellent! Couldn’t of had a better time!
Highly recommend - delicious food, lovely people, a terrific bar menu.
