   Booked for a sitting at 13,15. We had Sunday lunch for 6 and it was a great meal. My Mum is celiac and food can be hit and miss in pubs, but the GF fish and chips was fantastic. The roasts were really tasty - beef pink as requested and loads of veggies. Personally for me Yorkshire’s not puddingy enough, but I got taught by a North Yorkshire Nan so have particular expectations !!!! That said they were home made. Staff were really attentive and helpful and the food came out fairly promptly once we ordered. There were lots of board games to borrow and play while having a drink and deciding on what to eat. The fire was roaring and all nice and relaxed pub ambiance. Generally a lovely country pub which is great for families and dogs

   It was a bit of a last minute decision and I hadn’t been to the Rising Sun in probably 28 years (!), but they were able to accommodate us for a lovely Saturday lunch. The food was delicious, very tasty and generous portions and attentive but not over-bearing service. We will be back!

   A delightful Berkshire Pub, very good food and a friendly team. I was there for a pre Christmas break and had a very enjoyable evening with my daughter and son

   Lovely location, and good to come in on a cold winters day to a log fire. The food was mostly very good, but we waited nearly one and a half hours before it arrived, and not all the meals came as the order was messed up. As a result most of our group had finished their meals before the rest of the food arrived. What a shame! Despite the issues we stuck around for pudding which again was good, although some of them seemed like half portions?! Would still recommend, but double check your food order is correct, and be prepared to wait a while!

   I have allergies so eating out can be a little worrying. The Chef came out and advised me on my choices. Felt completely safe. Many thanks.

   Great character pub with delicious food & good friendly service. Noise from Jazz was a little too much for our elderly mother but we loved it!

   Enjoyed our lunch. Must admit we chose the Rising Sun because we could book online - international travelers so we had no phone to book which was the only method with other pubs we considered.

   A real country pub. In the woods, although Henley nearby to keep the wife happy with a spot of retail therapy. Blazing fires, lots of board games, not a prissy gastro pub. Very friendly lady brought a coffee and Telegraph while I waited for my friend. Excellent menu, super soup and doorstep sandwiches, nice to see vegan/veggie choices well thought out and not one dismal last item on a menu as so often. Next time I shall try the welsh rarebit !. What must the Sunday roasts be like? Thank you Rising Sun, you made a lunch time meet-up special, Charles Escott-New.
