If you want a restaurant where you know the chefs and owners are doing something right, then you’re going to want to head to Riscky’s Steakhouse. It’s been operating since 1927, so clearly they know a thing or two about how to cook some Texas barbecue the right way. Riscky’s Steakhouse has a full bar and multiple dining rooms so you can be sure you’ll find a table at one of Texas’s most popular spots.
Whether you’re in for lunch with coworkers or want a night out to celebrate with friends or family, the Riscky’s Steakhouse menu will have something for everyone’s tastes. Appetizers, soups and salads and a host of house specialties are offered up for your enjoyment. Don’t miss the famous calf fries in gravy or one of the signature steaks like the bone-in ribeye.
We wanted a Texas experience for our visit to taste quality beef and were Extremely disappointed. The prices was high but if we had gotten better quality meat we wouldn’t have minded. There was no appearance of a char on the steak, more of a grayish look. My husbands Tbone came cold as if it sat for awhile. They did bring out a new one. Our filets were ok and tender but not the juicy steak you usually get for a medium rare and again no crisp char anywhere on the outside. The lobster was also a bit chewy. The best steal to come out was my son in laws rib eye. The side of baked potatoes were really good with that nice salty, crusty skin. The fresh green beans were Old green beans, very chewy and tasteless. The drinks were good and our waitress was good. We spent over $200.00 for our party of 4 and would Not recommend this restaurant for a “Texas Steak Experience “
Excellent food and drinks. Gets a wee bit loud when sitting close to the kitchen where they are rolling silverware, but overall a great place for dinner.
The food and service was great. We arrived about 45 minutes earlier due to parking issues and not wanting to have to leave in the middle of our dinner to purchase our parking spot once again. Riscky's accommodated us. I regret not having room for the Godiva cheesecake but plan to go back some time just for dessert.
There are so many other steakhouses in the stockyards that are much better. We just ate here b/c it was convenient to the hotel that my clients were staying in. The prices are very similar to those steakhouses in and around the stockyards that are really good. My clients got Lobster to go with their steaks and the lobster and dipping sauce (so called butter) were not good at all. I ordered the ribeye which was pretty tasteless. It is a shame because this restaurant used to be really good.
It was ok. We had steak and lobster. Steak was really good, lobster not so much.
So salty, not worth the money. Even the bread was so salty, steak, chicken, broccoli,.... ALL salty
It just wasnt good. Ribs were over cooked and dry. Burger was ok. Good attentive waiter.
i eat steak "rare" all the time. I understand what that means. the inside of my steak was "raw". the shrimp appetizer was way,way overcooked. shrimp was tough. on a random wednesday they were not busy at at all but it okk way too long to get drinks/appetizers/main meal. the liquor selection and the way it was presented on the menu was sketchy at best. whiskeys/bourbons mixed together
Appetizers were great, skins were awesome. Salads were good as well, that’s when it went down hill. Steak was cool to the touch, steak fries were way over cooked. Server started off good, but became very unpleasant as the meal went on. This used to be a cowtown favorite, but this experience has soured me on riskeys. Will not be back anytime soon.
Amazing!!! I love the history and the original polish soup!!!
For the amount we paid for our food it was t very good. The kitchen was backed up and we had to eat really fast since we were on s tight schedule. We thought an hour and forty five minutes would be enough time but it wasn’t.
I ordered the filet and lobster tail. When my filet was brought to me, I took a bite, and it reminded me of hospital food. Absolutely no seasoning at all. Not even salt and pepper. My lobster on the other hand had so much garlic seasoning I couldn’t tell it was lobster. My husband had the 9 oz filet and no seasoning at all either. I usually clean my plate, but on this particular day I left half of everything... very disappointed.
Bone in ny strip was tough, grissley and could have been cooked better
The food and service were great! Fun place to eat in the stockyards!
5 stars! Our waiter was the best! I wish I could remember his name!
Way over proceed for what i got. $39 for a $12 steak that was brought out rare when i asked for medium. Under seasoned meat and side.
Great as usual we are two hours away from this place but try to make a trip as often as possible world famous calf fries and great steaks service is always good and snack in the middle of cowtown good times
Not the Risky's I remembered from a few years ago. Made reservations so we were seated quickly but that was the only fast service we received. Ordered drinks and 2 out of 3 were served within 10 minutes. My drink, even with multiple reminders to the waitress took over 30 minutes to make it to the table. The entrees were over an hour wait to arrive and luke warm when they did. We did receive a discount from the manager for our troubles but was still disappointed with the overall experience. A family celebration and night out in the Stockyards started off with a slow, loooong whimper.
Love this place! Nice decor and service is awesome!
Steak was good. Service was slow and rushed. Very overpriced as bread, salad, and “specialty side” were not very good. Interesting how server tried to get me to sign electronic bill without checking it to see that he added in his own tip. Server seemed perturbed that I asked for a moment to review the bill. Hostesses acted like we were a bother although place wasn’t crowded.
Bartender was excellent. Good food for the price. I will recommend and return.
We did not enjoy Riscky’s Steakhouse at all. We were very disappointed.
We made reservations at the last minute on a Friday night and although we had to go later than we would have liked with a toddler, we enjoyed everything so much! Wait staff was attentive, food was great, and on our way out we bumped into Kevin Fowler who had just finished eating there before his show at Billy Bobs! Overall great experience!!! Best steak in the stockyards by far!
It was mainly the poor service we received from our server, Fallon (and bartender who made the drink). We ordered drinks from the start and never received them until after our salads came to the table - about 10 minutes long and that’s being generous. My husband asked for an old fashioned drink and the server brought back one made with fireball - which as most people know is not the correct way to make it. Then he had the drink taken back bc it was disgusting and asked for a Makers and diet. The server had trouble ringing that into the system. She came back and asked if he wanted the Makers with something. He said ‘diet’, again. She said ‘Diet, what?’ He said Diet Coke. Then after dinner, our bill came and the $8 Old Fashioned drink was on our receipt after we sent the drink back bc it was made incorrectly. I asked why we were still being charged for the drink. The server said bc that’s how they make it at this restaurant. I said that that was the incorrect way to make it. She said that she knew but that’s it. After an awkward few moments of silence, she offered to get her Mgr. He came out and was polite, courteous, and quickly removed it from the check. The server came back out and said.. ‘did our mgr explain it to you?’ I said that there was nothing to explain and that he did the right thing and removed the drink from the check.
The food was outstanding and we appreciate the mgr taking care of the mistake however we will not be returning due to the poor service of the server. She was not knowledgeable about drinks or how to ring certain items into the system, did not seem concerned that a mistake was made, did not offer to accommodate us for their mistake, then gave us a bad attitude when we asked why we had to pay for something that we never consumed bc it was done incorrectly.
Thank you to Darryl, the manager, who quickly corrected the issue.
Nice restaurant with friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Food is good but the beans that come with your meal are tasteless.
We showed up with 5 people for our Christmas Eve reservation at 7pm to find the restaurant locked up with staff inside turning off all the lights. I understand they were not busy but when there are active reservations, it should remain open.
A group of five, we had a great experience. 4 of us did the Twosome specials. We loved the calf fries app!!
The filets were fabulous. One of the ribeye eaters said his had some gristle but the other ribeye eater said his was perfect. All steaks were cooked to order.
Our server Courtney was personable and efficient.
All of the steaks were superb! Everyone who had one loved them as they each were cooked the way each one had ordered them. My bone-in ribeye was so tender, you could almost have cut it with a fork. One in our party even had salmon which they said was very good as well. The server never missed a beat. He was attentive, but not intrusive. All in all, it was a delightful evening for our small office party!
Nice atmosphere. Food was not bad overall, but the steaks were too well done. Four of us ordered medium-rare, all of them were prepared well-done. Price was what we expected for the location.
Tip (20%) was written directly to the receipt. We planned to give a tip, but this was quite pushy/unpleasant.
Food was fantastic, our server left a lot to be desired. Always empty beer glasses, she’d be gone for 15mins at a time. Walk lady our table without checking on it. Would go back again and see if the service gets better.
Host was not willing to work. She kept saying wait time is 40 minutes when we saw many empty tables. We talked to the manager and got the table right away. Food was okay but not the best.
Excellent food, great Cowboy atmosphere that you can’t find elsewhere.
