Wonderful waitress Hunter went above and beyond. Place was empty which I am sure helped. Food was great...especially the crab pretzel and crab mac n cheese. Will return.

My wife had hoped the service, the kitchen, would have been faster. The waitress was terrific and couldn't have hustled more than she did. She was very attentive and charming. Overall it was really great and very delicious. We had a guest from out of the country. She really enjoyed the experience also.

cute place on the water. very casual. downstairs bar area is small, we came on a saturday and there was a band playing so it was loud, but good music.

we were sat upstairs, it was tight, but it worked. there was a super loud party next to us, but that's not the restaurants fault.

the food was great. better for groups, maybe not for a nicer date night.

Amazing!! We called to confirm with the restaurant to ensure that we will get the outdoor seat. We were told that it was first come first served basis but they were so nice that they will look out for us and make sure we will get a seat!! However, we were there an hr early and got outdoor seat with no issue. We ordered crab pretzel....amazinggg totally worth the calories intake lol. Maryland blue crab r also good. One the staff was so nice to show us how to properly crack the crab. Friendly staff, great food, lively ambience. Luv it!!

We ordered the steamed crabs and had Maggie as our server. The crabs were steamed to perfection with lots of old bay seasoning. Maggie was delightful. We stop by once a year when we are in Baltimore

Waitress was very passive and had to wait 30 mins for the check after we asked for it. Waitress waited on other patrons without checking back with us. Poor customer service.

Our table was ready for us when we got there. We were seated right by staircase so it was super busy and rather loud. Sever was knowledgeable about local beers and gave good recommendations. Food came out in a timely manner and tasted good. Only issue was with the burger, I ordered medium and it came out rare. The server was running around a lot so I wasn’t able to get her attention and ended just eating it as served. Very nice little dive bar.

Our experience was great! I used the OpenTable reservation process about 3-4 hours before our time, however, they were unaware of our reservation and still had to set up the table when we arrived. Overall, the food was great and the service was even better! A solid option for a Fell's Point dinner.

The drinks were great. The food was just okay. The bartender/ server, albeit overworked, managed to give us good personable service. The place had a musty smell and looked like it needed a thorough cleaning. They offer outdoor seating and steamed crabs.

There was hair in our salad. A long piece of hair at that. Server was not apologetic or even seemed to care. All my brother wanted was another salad. Wasn’t even trying to have the bill credited. A little disappointed with the quality of food for the restaurant week price.

Not sure if it was worth the money spent. We had 4 adults and 3 kids over 11 the food was good, but our bill was over $250. The service was good and the grill master was entertaining. Pretty sure we won’t be back any time soon.

Seating outside was nice but it was buggy, and they were not yet prepared for the bugs so we were uncomfortable. Service was acceptable not great. Crab cake was tasty but slightly watery on the inside. Blue crabs were delicious.

We did a last minute reservation and had to wait in the bar while a table was readied. Service was slow overall. It got to the point that we almost took our check down to the bar. The menu was not the menu that was available online which was disappointing. It looks like they are changing menus. The crab legs were good. The crab cakes were warm, not hot. The broccoli was unseasoned and a little overdone. There was a very rowdy group in the downstairs bar making it noisy. I would be willing to try again, maybe.

The pictures online were obviously right after the bar was updated. Which based upon current conditions was 15 years ago! We almost walked out thinking we were in wrong place. I kept looking at picture online bs where we were sitting. I would not call this a restaurant it is a bar that serves food. And the menu was not the same as online.
The food we did get was good.

Restaurant renovation was taking place downstairs. We were informed they were transitioning to a new chef. Only a "limited menu" was available - no information was provided to that effect when the reservation was made. The food was good but not what I would typically order. My wife said crab cake was phenomenal.

We tried Riptide during restaurant week in Baltimore with my brother and sister-in-laws. It was a Sunday night and for awhile we were the only people in the dining portion of the place. Super cold night and they seated us by the window for the view but there was definitely a draft so we were a little chilly. Our food tasted really good but all of our entrees were cold like they had sat for a few minutes before getting to us which made no sense because there was no one else there... the dessert was tasty but very small. The bread was to die for!! I’d go back for the bread but I would probably try somewhere else next time we’re in the area.

Restaurant is upstairs above the bar and seating is limited. Servers seemed to be running bar tabs from downstairs as there were only four tables seated yet they were busy at the register ringing up checks the whole time we were there. Consequently, the service was poor as the waitresses rarely left their register. We waited nearly thirty minutes to be given our own check after finishing our meal. Alcohol stock must be been kept upstairs on the level above us as staff members were frequently running boxes of wine down the stairs and through the restaurant to re-stock the downstairs bar. Food was average, unfortunately nothing that would make you want to return. Great location right on the waterfront, but they seem to need to work out some service/atmospheric kinks (and improve their menu) before we would return.

Keeping in mind this was restaurant week, the food was bad. The steak was not a steak. It was paper thin and grey. We got one piece of broccoli. Flavor was OK, but not good.
$35 for the restaurant week special. I’d give the place another shot but it was a disappointing experience.

There was a lot of issues the night that we went in. My party of 3 was one of two parties that were at the restaurant. Service was EXTREMELY slow. It seems like there was one waitress servicing the downstairs bar and the restaurant upstairs. We came in for Restaurant Week. The options were decent. My friends ordered ordered the cream of crab soup while I had the bacon wrapped wonton shrimp for course 1. The soup was a tad salty but had nice lumps of crabmeat. The shrimp was only ok. For course 2, I had the lobster ravioli, one friend had the Salmon Caesar salad, and the other had the steak. I only got 4 small ravioli with my entree. They were not very filling. The salad had brown wilted lettuce and had to be sent back and exchanged for fries. A hair was found in the mashed potatoes of the steak dish and the steak ordered at medium well was very over cooked. For dessert, we had the key lime pie. I found a hair in mine and it had to be sent back. To accommodate us for all the issues, they did comp our meal and drinks which we appreciated the customer service. I’m still disappointed that I wasn’t able to fully enjoy my evening catching up with friends

We had a family dinner with friends and Mr Yummy was our Tappan Chef and he made all the difference ! He brought us to tears with laughter! We will always request him in the future at Riptide. The food was amazing and so was the sushi! We had a great dining experience!

Slow service. Restaurant is known for it's seafood (crab cakes & oysters) and they had none...that's right no oysters and no crab??? I had to re- order twice and while the food was good everything else was not.

The food quality is far from good. I had the "special", a sirloin steak. It was very thin and dry, even cooked at medium rare. It gave me the impression that it was frozen and cooked from the frozen state. It certainly wasn't worth $25.
Our server said there are new owners and that are more "bar" people than food. It certainly shows. I miss the old Rip Tide.
