Ripplewood Whiskey and Craft
Sat upstairs for Valentine’s Day. Seemed like our waitress was serving the entire upstairs alone. We watched her get 6 new tables in a matter of an hour. Ourselves and our neighbors were given slow, subpar service because of this. Seemed crazy for her to have that many tables. Fortunately, the food was amazing. Potato gnocchi, roasted chicken and burger. Would go back and hope for better service.
Came in for Valentine’s day! Server who was also the bartender was amazing! He was very attentive and could answer all of our questions. Food was great, my boyfriend got the short ribs and I got the scallops. Manager touched the table too. We will be back!
Service was generally fine but our waitress tuned out at dessert time. All my husband wanted was a slice of cake and we waited 30 minutes for it to arrive only after questioning the waitress
The food is absolutely amazing. We got a whole bunch of shareables and nothing disappointed. The Mac n’ cheese and ripp fries are especially good. Can’t wait to come back!
Service was quick, pleasant and considerate. I would have liked more choices for a hamburger than the one that was on the menu. Turned out it was very messy to eat. I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. It was fine and it wouldn't deter me from coming back. Ripplewood has a good beer selection which suits me fine. The best part of Ripplewood is that they are always checking in to see if everything is good and if you need anything, You don't get that customer concern at many places today.
Food was delicious and so were the drinks! Will be back for sure
We met two couple’s for dinner. The cocktails were inventive and tasty. We decided to have several rounds of shareables instead of entrees. The bao buns were delicious and everyone enjoyed the wings and the mushroom flatbread, Brussels sprouts and winter citrus salad. The lamb meatballs tasted good but left a salty aftertaste. The desserts that we shared were all delicious and our server just the right amount of attentiveness. We would definitely come back!
Super cool, hip place. Food was great, "shareables" were interesting and tasty, waiter was fabulous! Outdoor seating in the middle of the indoor seating, nice cool Philly vibe ambiance right in the middle of Ardmore.
We had dinner reservations for 845 and got seated at 920-925 but the staff felt bad and they took good care of us. Food was good!
Our first time - food was actually quite good, which surprised me a bit given the venue. The downside is that seating in the area near to the bar is VERY noisy and crowded - so be prepared.
Had to wait 20 mins past reservation time - seated in back( freezing) . Looks like overflow space and we were in a room by ourselves. Not an enjoyable experience
Great food, fun drinks and excellent service! Really enjoyed pretzel rolls, bapao buns, gnocchi, mushroom flatbread: short ribs were a little overpriced and WAY over salted, a darn shame from such an otherwise excellent kitchen.
This was my second visit to Ripplewood. I came back for the Ripp Fries, which are like Poutine, and they are excellent and the serving size is large. We were seated right by the front door on one of the coldest nights of the year. The man who sat us there saw that we were trying to stay warm. He came over and he asked if we were OK. We explained that every time the door opened we froze, but he did not offer to seat us elsewhere. The server was nice, but she was not on top of things. She never explained that food comes out in the order it is ready in the kitchen. It took so long to get the Ripp Fries that we thought she forgot to order them for us, so we were getting ready to leave. We waited nearly 15 minutes to get our cocktails. I ordered a Bluecoat Martini and the glass was not filled to the top, which always bothers me, and the 3 olives I asked for were broken and pieces were missing. I had to ask the man who sat us to get my friend a second glass of red wine and to fill my water glass. The Brussel sprouts were excellent and there were plenty of them. The grilled shrimp dish was good. The meatballs were excellent. They seemed to be doing an excellent take-out business. I love the Ripp fries, but probably not enough to return here. They probably won't miss my business - the place was busy all night on a single digit, freezing, Thursday night.
I visited Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft for brunch. I checked out the menu ahead of time to prepare. I was ready for the drinks and was pleased with my selections.
The food offerings are OK, the food was prepared well-but the portions are small. I didn't think it was anything special. It was recommended that I return for the daily happy hour to sample more food items.
My waitstaff was Awesome and comp’d my drink for my birthday! Great Customer Service!
I will make a plan to return.
Wonderful atmosphere. Really nice staff. Food was great. Far exceeded my expectations on food quality and the depth and breadth of the whiskey selections. Very knowledgeable team.
Great spot for happy hour and dinner. Classic cocktails and so many options for small plates to share....by far the best brussel sprouts in Philadelphia!
Everything was good except the cocktails
Small, tight space but quaint. Staff was exceptional at bar, table service and manager came around.
only issue was back room seating by kitchen and outdoor patio was drafty. two parties who were seated at an adjacent table asked to be moved immediately upon seating. Food was great, cocktails outstanding.
All of the shareables we tasted were excellent! My cocktail was too. And dessert, carrot cake with pistachio ice cream, was delicious.
It was the best wedge salad I ever had. Everything else was so so
Great place to come with our adult kids. Wonderful to have a place where the food and drinks are both top notch!
Charred octopus with tender and flavorful...it never disappoints. Salmon special was very moist and delicious. Carrot cake and ricotta donuts were absolutely amazing!!!!
First time at Ripplewood & it lived up to all the 5 star ratings that I read online. For this place to be open only 9 months They are doing something right. Paul (I would gather he’s the owner or manger) he came over to our table very friendly & asked if everything was good, was this our first time & invited us to come back. Had the Bao Buns, lamb meatballs, & ribs(without peanuts) the food was seasoned very well & we will definitely be going back. My Hunny is a Whiskey & beer connoisseur he went for the Bartenders choice & was very pleased with the selection. I had the Pomegranate cosmo & I enjoyed it very much. The service was exceptional, all the food came out fast & was hot, which is always a plus. Glad I found this place on a whim & I agree with everyone else this place is amazing & on my list of places to visit on a regular.
First time here. Very good food and cocktails. Will definitely come back
Great server, Michael. Fun experience. Great good.
The burger was delicious. I would’ve had another one if I wasn’t full. Also, the ambience is very nice/relaxing. It got packed as I was leaving so I would recommend going to the back room if you don’t like being around a lot of people.
The food was excellent and the whole visit was made more pleasant by the outstanding service and friendliness of our server, Michael.
Great food . The octopus was yummy , the pasta was good .
We will come again.
Great restaurant! I made a reservation for 4 on a Wednesday night for a small, private celebratory dinner. After I made the reservation on OpenTable I called and requested a table upstairs. The gentleman that answered the phone said it wouldn't be busy and he made a note on our reservation. Unfortunately, the other couple joining us bailed last minute. When we checked in I alerted the hostess that it would only be a two top. She then told us that we couldn't sit upstairs anymore. Instead we were sat at the first high top table next to the opening and closing front door which was freezing. We weren't too happy with that but the atmosphere, service, food, and drinks are awesome.
Lunch w a friend. I have celiac- many gluten free options.
Everything was great. I wish the band hadn’t set up the speakers and dragged the tables around hold we were still eating
Great food. Have eaten dinner and brunch and highly recommend both. Bloody Dragon - an awesome custom bloody mary - was almost too tasty and easy to drink. The food was spot on. Great service rounded a great meal, both times.
Wish our order was paced better. Finished way too fast, otherwise, great experience.
Wonderful upscale neighborhood bar. Handcrafted cocktails are on point, food is inventive and expansive, and the overall aesthetic steps up the surrounding small town. My only complaint is that the first floor two-tops are WAY to close together and you'll be bumping your neighbor all night - request a seat in the back dining room or upstairs.
Although Mike was recently promoted, luckily he still waits tables occasionally. Always enjoy his knowledge and friendliness.
Our waiter was very informative and personable. The atmosphere was just right!! Can’t wait to go back when the weather is nice to sit on the patio too.
It was great atmosphere, bar is super crowded but we were sat in the back room and it was nice!
Wife found and reserved this for a casual night out with casual friends. It disappointed pretty much across the board.
The first floor, which we just passed through on the way up a long, straight flight of steps to our seating on the second floor, was so noisy I wouldn't have stayed had we been sentenced to that seating area. The second floor was considerably better. There was nothing special about the decor or atmosphere on either floor-- it was even a comfortable looking place.
The menu is very, very limited. Other than the hamburger and the apps, not really bar food, but not really restaurant food, either. Portions were small and manageable, but if you are a party of 4 adults, you need 4 apps-- don't even think about sharing. Drink selection seemed ok to me, and the one person in our party who actually had a mixed drink thought it was good. The pours were decent, nothing out of the ordinary in either way.
If you go to this place, allow a lot of time. Everything, and I mean everything, is slow. They were even slow getting first and second drinks out. And given the time that elapsed between when we put our order in and when we were finally served, this place missed a big revenue opportunity by not serving drinks even after they had been ordered.
We all loved the food and everything was great.
