Ripplewood Whiskey and Craft
Awesome!! A great meal.
I love this place everything is absolutely amazing!
Our server seemed irritated the entire evening. Maybe she had something bad happen to her and couldn’t shake it. She just seemed impatient and annoyed. Bummer for us!
Not sure what all the buzz is about. Maybe it’s better for just drinks and snacks/bar food.
Service was spotty at best. 2 of my kids ordered a “shareable” as their main course, but they were brought out with the other appetizers. Usually the question of when it should come out is asked. Appetizer plates were not cleared or even asked to be cleared. We had to ask them to clear and to bring new silverware that they had just taken. Main courses took too long to come out. We just sat for a while. Then when we were finished with the main course we again had to wait for the table to be cleared. Server did not ask if I wanted another drink. This was a Wednesday night and the place was not full.
Food was just ok. Not terrible but just ok. Best part of dinner was the dessert. Ricotta doughnuts and snickers pie. Brookie was good enough. Caesar salad was interesting. Anchovy fillets were very strong and I love anchovies. Kind of hard to eat overall. Mushroom soup was good.
Restaurant itself was nice. Liked the ambiance and decor. But I won’t return. Yet another fail on the main line in my opinion.
The food and beverage was great. Our server Allison was great but a bit busy so it took a while just to refill water or drinks. The spacing in the bar is tight but expected. All in all 4/5 and will definitely be coming back~
The food and service is very good. Great menu moderately priced. Overall a welcome change to the Mainline. Cool and hip and urban feel.
Mainline and the suburbs need more place like this. It’s about time
Our dinner at Ripplewood was fantastic. We sat upstairs where the noise level is quite tolerable. The food was so good. I’m glad I read reviews and looked at what others got as I walked to my table. The ribs were the standout but everything was top-rated. Our server, Ian, knew the menu and advised on whiskey selections. We are fairly educated about whiskey and he really knows his stuff. He did a great job, overall. Everything was really good.
Great Valentine’s Day dinner spot! Great drinks and food!
We returned for our second Valentine's Day dinner having been in 2019 for a great romantic meal. ( eaten here other times since as well.) But were disappointed this time. It was Valentine's Day, mobbed so the wait for food was understandable and our server apologetic. No problem. Pluses: Great whiskey sour and fine red/white wine. Loved Mac and cheese!!!!! Oysters, yum. Burger good choice. Minuses: spouse's salmon raw ( and this said by one who likes his salmon pink) and broth over- salted. I couldn't eat my salad : way too salty dressing and I am a salt lover. Brownie desert had a strange ( vegetable oil?) taste. We were disappointed but chalked it up to the busyness of the night and learned our lesson to dine here when not as crowded. ( Is that possible?)
Everything we enjoyed, from the delicious handcrafted cocktails through the amazing desserts, were absolutely unbelievable. It can be noisy, so conversation is sometimes difficult even on a weeknight. But the service is fantastic and the food is phenomenal. Our favorite spot in the suburbs!
Burger was amazing but what really impressed me was the tongue and cheek taco. What an amazing flavor burst.
Best restaurant around! Had an amazing dinner. We ordered mushroom soup, charred octopus, and ripp fries to start. Then we got the braised short rib, scallops, and branzino which was all incredible. Drinks and dessert were delicious too! The staff is super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be eating here more often.
One of my favorite restaurants, I’m always pleased with the food
Love the donuts/beignets
First timer, but not the last. The food and drinks were fantastic. We decided to do tapas style and ordered several of the shareable plates. Everything was superb! Can’t wait to go back again!
A nice change from the usual. Good selection of creative drinks and food. Brussel sprouts were the best all 4 of us have ever had. Loaded fries were very good also. We wished we just stuck with more apps versus getting entrees. They were more interesting and better value. Downstairs is darker and more lively. They sat us upstairs which was brighter and a bit quieter which we liked because we wanted to talk:)
Tuna crudo and bao were quite good. Cauliflower was underwhelming, cooked to an odd texture and with too little of the other ingredients off to the side. Server was excellent. The back dining area suffers from proximity to the kitchen and loud music emanating every time the door opens.
Second time there... fun, trendy spot with an eclectic menu. I’ll go back again.
Drinks took forever, not offered refills, hot food came out cold after a very long wait
Food was good; expected a better cocktail and beer list. Service was mediocre, our server seemed disinterested. Glad we were upstairs instead of down due to the noise level. That said, I'd return and give it another try.
we were seated at a poorly lit table in the back, and although our food came fairly promptly, the wait service did not check back with us after that, had to flag them down. food ok, good side salad, but overall disappointing
Food was good. Service was great. The Ripp fries and mahi tacos were our favorites!
I had forgotten how much I love French food! We tried this place during restaurant week and it was a real find. Fabuloud food, service, and ambience. Great date place!
When my husband and I arrived, there were 2 complimentary glasses of champagne waiting for us since I had noted it was our anniversary. While I couldn’t partake because I’m expecting our third child, it was such a lovely and kind gesture! The food was exquisite, our server was so great and we’ll for sure be returning in the future! Cannot recommend Ripplewood enough!!!
Love the food, the atmosphere and the overall vibe!!
We were immediately seated for our reservation and quickly given water & greeted by our server. Everything we had was outstanding and we were able to take our time and not feel rushed. My husband commented that their wings may be the best he’s ever had. We also really loved the Mac n Cheese, curry Cauliflower, Mediterranean salad and burger, we finished with the snickers bar (Absolutely amazing!!) We had a few drinks- the Buzzed Bunny and cider were our favorites.
Chill but serious about giving you a good experience. Just calm down and get the whisky sour. Sublime. Beet dip was a good starter that made me feel like I was doing something healthy. Nice take on the wedge salad. Not too heavy. Filet mignon was a treat. Super tender. Sauce was a tad too salty but I overlooked it. Good creamed spinach. Fresh. Ricotta donuts with huckleberry jam and Nutella for dipping to cap off my date night.
Great brunch options and drink specials (bottomless mimosas, Bloody Mary, etc)
Enjoyed everything about our brunch!
It is a nice little gem of a restaurant! Fresh and well prepared food, great wine list, excellent service! I’ll come back!
Made a rez on a quiet Sunday at 1:15. Nobody seemed awake or prepared for our arrival except the kitchen cooking our meal, which was delicious. From the hostess to our waiter to the lack of a bussing staff there was no motivation or urgency. I get that it’s Sunday at 1:30, but a 10 minute wait to get seated (checking to see is our seats were ready when it’s nearly empty), an absent to non-attentive waiter (no, he wasn’t right with us after we were seated) and lack of refills on water were aggravating. The burgers were the amazing offset. Is you can’t staff on a Sunday with people that match your food quality, please let us know and we will go elsewhere next time.
We were super excted to try this place even though it is a 40 min drive for us. Bar was packed so no place to wait for table but we cluttered the walk way and stood anyway. would have enjoyed the cocktails far more had we gotten to watch them be prepared and had a place to sit or stand and enjoy them. appetizers were really good but main courses were so salty, over done and dissapointing. We might go back on a weeknight for apps and cocktails at the bar but otherwise this is a miss for us.
Food was excellent, the waiter friendly and knowledgeable, Loved everything but the noise level! Was seated at a high top in the bar area and it was tight.
Too salty for me. Young girl that checks you in is miserable.
Really enjoyed every aspect of the evening. GREAT Bourbon selection! Food was delicious and portions definitely large enough for sharing. Shoutout to our server Alison.
Just about everyaspect is 5 star. Great food, great service.Don’t miss burger;octopus salad;mahitacos and beer selection. The very best .
We had read quite a bit of hype about the place and hoped it was all true. Great food, wine and friendly servers! Cannot wait to return with friends. Great job.
Most of the food was excellent. The burger and Ripp Fries were extraordinary. The Ruben was really mediocre. It was lunch and the restaurant was not crowded, was quiet and very relaxed. It is very dark, perhaps “intimate,” but if you’re over 40, bring your reading glasses and flashlight.
