Went here for my grad school graduation dinner with my family. Our service was great and the food was just as good. One of my favorite places to eat on the Strand now. We all had some type of seafood pasta and none of them disappointed. Also got a free dessert because we were celebrating. It’s been a while since I’ve had a waitstaff that attentive - hopefully we’ll be back soon!
We totally LOVE this place! All of the menu items we have chosen over all the several visits have been delicious!!! Our 2 elementary daughters love the food and the ambiance, especially the fish tank in the foyer. This is a must visit!
Everything was very nice. We have been there several time and always enjoy the evening.
Absolutely delicious! We sat outside to enjoy the ambiance of The Strand and had a great time.
Delicious food and great service - definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Galveston
Excellent as always a special mother’s d dinner. Food was great and so was the service and atmosphere
We always have a great experience when we come here. The service is great, drinks are good, and the food is delicious. They accommodated us for a birthday/wedding celebration and even surprised the birthday girl with yummy tiramisu AND the bride&groom with a champagne toast. They made it feel really personal. We will be back soon!
This was the third time that we have eaten at Riondo's in as many years. The first two times were enjoyable. This experience, however, was a real disappointment. The shrimp scampi was bland and tasteless, and the osso buco special was mediocre and grossly overpriced. The ambience was the only part of the evening that we enjoyed. We will not return.
Food was just not on par. Everything else was great!
Food was good, but, at times, we had to prod the waitress for water, pepper, just small stuff.
Great find! Enjoyed the fish special. Huge portion of Italian Seabass cooked perfectly! My hubs enjoyed the ravioli of the day and we split a salad. Wine selection was nice and our Dave our server was very attentive.
The food and service at this restaurant were great! It was a very relaxing dinner and we enjoyed our dining experience!
Excellent meal + service.
Food is over the top good. I’ve ordered the shrimp carbonara both times and excellent. My wife got the grilled eggplant and she loved it.
Dinner with friends before show. One couple celebrating wedding anniversary. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, drinks and dessert. Waiter was attentive but let us dine and enjoy food at our leisure. Also room was kept at a comfortable temperature. Would definitely recommend to others and will be back. Friends who were not familiar with Galveston were very impressed.
It was good but not great. I have higher expectations for what I paid for.
That being said, you’re still the best on the island.
Excellent food. Katy gave us great service.
Everything was fantastic! Great service and excellent Italian food!
Family of 4, 2 elementary kids and 2 winos. Love the Baby Amarone and bruschetta. All of the food we have had there has been delicious, and we continue to return. Quiet atmosphere, cool table back by the safe door.
Great dinner. Ask to be in the Vault! Met the manager, he will take care of you.
Such a pleasant experience!
We did not expect this quality of food, service, overall everything. This as been one of our best meals in all of Texas
We eat here every time we come into town about 2-3 times a year and this was the first time the food was a little disappointing and wait time between starters and main course way too long over 40 minutes at 6pm was a little too long. Service was great and kept us updated when our food would come out. Overall we will still eat here but I hope that the kitchen is a little quicker.
The nice server, who said she had been at the restaurant just a few weeks, recommended the veal shank with port wine sauce, though she hadn't tried it. She said it was very popular so I ordered it. When it arrived, it seemed to have needed to be braised longer, as braised meat should fall off the bone. This one didn't. It had very little sauce, which was tasty with mushrooms, but it was not a "port wine reduction" by any means. The accompanying butternut squash rissoto was dry and bland. I ordered a little more sauce and it redeemed the dish. My date ordered the veal piccata, which also had very little sauce and the veal was a little tough. We had tiramisu for dessert, which was very good. The service was good, and the manager was nice when he checked on us before our dinner arrived. I should have ordered the the gnocchi, which was my second choice. Next time I'm feeling Italian food, I'll try another place.
Another outstanding dining experience! Perfectly seasoned entrees at the right temperature delivered with excellent service. I can't get enough of the osso buco. The Chef, waiter Josh, and manager Don never disappoint!
If you get the chance to go, then by all means, GO. This place was perfect. The food is all prepared there in house with seafood bought locally in Galveston and their beef bought from a family farm in Texas. Everything we ate was exceptionally good. Our waiter was Robert and he was amazing. Once we told him it was our first time, he made sure we got the most out of our dining experience. From the wine, to the appetizers, to the main dishes and the fiery banana foster, we were pleased with it all. 10/10 highly recommend!
Great brunch menu and food!
Amazing restaurant! love this place. Food is exceptional.
Food was beyond our expectiis!
Chef is sight and knows what he is doing.
Had a wonderful time...Everyone was nice..Will go again...
Wonderful environment. The lasagna was just wonderful. The service was excellent.
We’re frequent visitors to Galveston. For our 6th wedding anniversary celebration, we decided to try a restaurant where we hadn’t previously dined. We were joined in our celebration with the officiant of our wedding and his wife. The officiant also happens to be my nephew. Everything was perfect. The ambience, food and service couldn’t have been better. Now, Riondo’s Ristorante will be a regular spot. Our server, Mark, was especially memorable. What a fine young man.
Food was wonderful. Lobster ravioli and octopus appetizer were fabulous.
Top notch customer service and the food and wine were outstanding. Perfectly cooked and seasoned osso bucco and risotto, appetizers, and a brilliant wine selection. Super busy evening during Mardi Gras. Never dissappointed at Riondo's!
We are always blown away by the friendliness and knowledge of the staff, AND the food is amazing!!! We make trips down to Galveston just to eat there because the gnocchi is amazing. Great wine selection too. The baby bellas are our favorite appetizer. Also, order whatever special fish entree because whatever it is, it's the best. If you get to meet the owner or the chef, you're in for some entertainment! They're very genuine and dear people, and you can tell they love what they do because it comes through in every aspect of their restaurant. I can't think of a single negative thing to say about Riondo's, other than that I'm not eating there right this very second and now I wish I were! I love it!
After making my reservation a week in advance and receiving two calls to confirm I was hopeful that it would be a positive experience. We booked the reservation for my daughter's SWEET SIXTEEN birthday celebration. TWO times I mentioned to the hostess on the phone and our waiter that it was her birthday and asked if they could bring a special dessert (happy to pay premium for it). I didn't want a free desert. They didn't even accommodate the request. Not a mention. We ordered the chocolate cake and the banana's foster. Bananas foster WAS TERRIBLE. came out already melted, mushy and the waiter literally lit it on fire and LEFT the table. Completely underwhelmed. We were there on Mardi Gras weekend so it was $25 to park before we even got into the restaurant. They were NOT busy at all. Bottom line, don't waste a special occasion on this place. I will say that the food was very good. This was our second visit and sadly our last.
Friendly staff and love the atmosphere
Very disappointed with Riondo's. We had visited during restaurant week, so I decided to celebrate my birthday there. We arrived to the door being blocked by a large man with a pony tail visiting with people right in front of the door. We nudged the door open, he moved over, and we walked to the reception area where we waited for several minutes for the same man to finish his visit with friends before acknowledging us and seating us to our table. We were seated right in the middle of the restaurant where I felt like a fish in a bowl. He did not ask if we were okay with the table before walking away. Our waitress was sweet, but why does management have so many off menu specials that the poor girl has to recite in an extremely loud environment? Anyway, the food was not seasoned whatsoever. My filet was rate, although I requested medium rare. The potatoes has thin layers of globby cheese instead of a nice cheese sauce. Desert was a dry chocolate cake where the top layer slid off the gnoche during plating. The restaurant is in a beautiful building but the noise level is off the charts. Management, get a clue about how to treat people. And, season your food!!
My sister and I enjoyed our time at Riondo's. The service was perfect and the food was excellent. I had the veal piccata and my sis had the seafood ravioli. We shared a house salad and also loved the garlic bread. We will be back!!!!!
Outstanding food and service. Great place for that special occasion!
