Absolutely phenomenal food! Very unique flavors and dishes that are unusual to see anywhere else.
I had ordered a chicken plate and it took them a while so they offered us complimentary sparkling wine and dessert. The server was very nice about everything. Great experience
The food was Amazing!
Rioja is clearly one of Denver’s Crown Jewels-innovative tasty cuisine with a menu that allows diners to orchestrate a premier experience. Chef Jen and her crew present an array of interesting starters, killer housemade signature pastas and creative mains. Do yourself a favor and visit.
I've eaten at Rioja a number of times and always enjoy the experience. On this occasion, I was there at 12 noon on a Saturday and the noise level was very low and I had a table by the window. It was perfect! The menu selection was rather limited but we enjoyed our meal regardless. I recommend Rioja for anyone looking for "out of the ordinary" eats.
it was a lively, but not loud, better than average restaurant, in a great area. Food was generally very good, but not remarkable. Breads were EXCELLENT, in choice, taste, and variety. The person with bread, should have made a second trip to ask, he didn't. The Himalayan type sea salt in silver dispenser was a nice touch. Server was very pleasant, but not adept with wine. She was a good server, except with the wine. (Wine had sediment in first tasting glass, and she didn't know what to do...and at $100, should have opened another bottle, but we let it pass. Wine was fine). Tuna sashimi type on watermelon was good, not great. Tuna was chopped, and watermelon while pressed had a taste, not quite watermelon . I really can't remember what I had for main course, which is neither bad, nor remarkable. The sparkling water for the table is a nice touch. Four-way tomato app. was quite good, but overpriced. I think I had something with grilled octopus, now that I am trying to recall, and I think tuna. Both Ok, nice tasting.
Would love to go back. The food and service was just perfect. The street has a big food vibe.
I had the house salad and Colorado lamb, would order it again.
My wife had flatbread and finished it, very rare.
Next trip to Denver I'll be there.
Wonderful as always! Perfect service, beautiful presentation and delicious food. My favorite restaurant in Denver for many, many years! We love coming in and will be back before the next show!
This is my favorite restaurant in Denver! The food is always delicious and beautiful
I had not visited Rioja for quite some time so had fairly low expectations even though I knew it was a high end restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised. Food and service was exceptional. They really did take it to a new level with their fusion and preparation approaches. Really great experience and would highly recommend. J
If heaven had a restaurant where the gods made your food, it would be Rioja!
Delicious! Perfect for special occasions. They made my daughter feel very special.
Our waitress was amazing...just amazing. So personable and wanting to make our experience the best it could be. Outstanding evening. Thanks to the bartenders for their great service while we waited on the table (we were early), to our fantastic waitress, and to the kitchen for a string of tasty, tasty small plates that kept the evening flowing wonderfully.
This has been my favorite place in Denver since the first time I went there 15 years ago. I am from Chicago and visit the city about 3 times a year and always make one night an evening at Rioja. I have met the Chef owner and was happy to let her know how much I enjoy her restaurant. They have an appetizer there that is my favorite dish of all time I usually just have 3 of those and nothing else. The rest of the menu is mouth watering and the breads fantastic. I can't be in Denver without a trip to Rioja.
Great place for enjoyable food and beverage. Staff will get you to the theater on time!
Dinner before the theater. Excellent chicken and fish entrees. Great wine selection. Service is always the best.
The food was phenomenal and the staff was attentive and on point. We never felt rushed and the waiters were well versed in the menu offerings. Great vibe in the restaurant and at the bar.
Every aspect of our meals was perfect. Our server was exceptionally knowledgeable about wines, courses, and was able to describe the ingredients in each course. And each course was a new treat. I love Middle Eastern food and the reimagining of each course in a new way was a great experience.
I have been in numerous times since you opened and this visit was the first time my second wife had been there as we celebrated our 1st anniversary. Everything was done without flaw and she felt it is the best restaurant she has been to in Denver!
Visited Rioja this past weekend for an anniversary dinner. The service and food are spectacular, it was an awesome experience. This is a must visit if you are in the Denver area.
Delicious food. Excellent service. One of our favorites in Denver.
Not only was every bite the 3 of us took amazing, but the staff was incredible. David who really knew the menu and all the ingredients and the cocktails. Very accommodating and genuinely cared that we have an unforgettable time. We stayed almost 3 hours and never felt rushed.
Delicious foods! Kind service and wonderful wine menu.
Rioja is one of the best restaurants in Denver. Jennifer has educated her staff on the intricacies of knowing the product offering, knowing the wines, and knowing how to please the customer. Her unique design of food and flavors is a culinary delight. "What is pleasing to the eye is pleasing to the palate." Presentation is fabulous.
Wonderful experience and highly recommend
We must say that Rioja will be in our future must dinning experiences in Denver. We found the food to be imaginative, creative and flavorful. They made our dining experience so memorable we cannot wait to go back. Bravo!
Last year my visit here was wonderful. This year it is very much resting in its reputation both in terms of food and service. My beef dish was inedible with bits of meat simply unchewable and needing to be (politely) spit out. They took the cost off the bill but it shouldn’t have been served in the first place. It also arrived cold. The service became distant and a little haughty as they kept trying to remove my Dad’s plate before he was finished. Not the best 88th birthday celebration for him.
Rioja is one of my favorites in Denver, but I have to say, I was not "Wowed" this time. Service was lackluster and pretty much non-existant. The brunch menu is good, but it is nothing as wonderful as the dinner menue.
The food was delicious! However the service was lacking. I felt rushed the entire evening and couldn’t savor my food without our waiter eagerly waiting to take our plates. So annoying. We were seated promptly but a bit noisy. The tables were extremely close together so you couldn’t help but to overhear everything! If you are looking for a quiet night out then choose a different place.
We were extremely impressed with the creative, fresh and delectable dishes we enjoyed. The halibut appetizer was simply amazing, as was the white gazpacho. Ricotta gnocchi was divine, and service was impeccable.
As a food snob have to say the food was devine and selection of wine and cocktails were excellent.
Ther serrvice was efficient and affective.
I highly recommend it!
It was a memorable experience!
Fantastic from start to finish!
The food in the drinks are excellent, one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. The appetizers were superb, and my sons LA was excellent, high-quality and perfectly cooked. I do have to say however that I had the octopus and tuna for a main course, and the octopus was very overcooked. I also have to say the desserts were excellent
I work in the restaurant world, travel and eat out more than I should as this was a top 10 meal of my life. Created our own tasting menu and had 6 incredible courses. Beyond the incredible food, the service was fantastic. Flawlessly timed and never needed anything throughout service. The details were executed at a high level, all the way to the salt vessel. Great wine program (at value) even found a Huet vouvray. And to top it off the service staff presented my wife with a birthday card. Can’t say enough about this experience. Thanks to the entire team at Rioja.
Went for a farewell dinner after two weeks on the road. Immediate impression was superlative service. Rioja followed through with food and drink that left us wholly satisfied and with the desire for more but without the capacity to continue. A paradox that will only be resolved by a second visit.
Bread basket is a highlight for me, esp with the sea salted butter. Had the single artichoke and truffle tortelloni, and the chicken sandwich for lunch. Delicious. Service is attentive and courteous.
Great food and wait staff.
Best restaurant in Denver! My friend and I enjoyed the Colorado lamb and duck breast sooo much. It is a treat to dine here in all ways.
30th wedding anniversary in from San Diego! It was just right and since we were traveling we were able to bring our dog and sit outside on the patio. Wonderful!
