Rio de Brazil
Good food. Excellent service. Thanks!
Very great . No wait time to be seated and the service and food was Fantastic. Really Great place if you are looking for a allmeat Dinner
Rio de Brazil was a date night dinner for my husband and I. Overall it was a good experience with some high points and low points:
Restaurant was nicely remodeled, clean, and a good amount of lighting.
The staff was VERY kind and friendly.
The Picanha, flank steak, sirloin, Parmesan pork, grilled pineapple were delicious, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. You had some temperature options, but the beef was on the rarer side as I prefer!
Not the best:
The salad bar/sides were hit or miss. The rice and beans were good, but the mashed potatoes were almost soup consistency and could not have been scooped onto a plate. The premise salads were ok, but nothing special. The roasted cold veggies, Parmigiana, baguette, and antipasto-type offerings were good. The sausage and chicken we were served was a bit dry as well.
So, overall, if I stuck to what was good, it was a delicious dinner. But at $40+ Per person for dinner with no drinks in this region, I would expect everything to be executed well. So, the value wasn’t quite there for me, but it was a good day experience overall and a lovely family- friendly and family-owned restaurant that I hope does well.
Different dining experience. You choose what you would like and there is a very good variety. Salad bar/food bar had plenty to choose from including shrimp and cheeses along with a few sides. It is all about the meats. Great as a special occasion place.
Great food! The salad bar is excellent. Service was good as well
The food was good but all meats are medium to rare. I enjoyed it but my wife did not cause of the cooking level of meats.
A great experience, and very friendly service!
This was our second visit to Rio de Brazil. The food was wonderful and the servers were all friendly and fun. This is a place you can go casual to formal and still feel comfortable. We will definitely be back.
Great place to eat I don’t recommend going there at opening time through the week it took awhile to get the meats coming out but they were great.
Great food great atmosphere. Planning for a group of us to go
Everyone is nice. Service is excellent. It is a very relaxed environment and the meat is cook to the doneness you ask for.
Great experience and great food.
My experience there was great! My date love the food. I enjoyed it as well. The staff was friendly and attentive. They even turned on the TV so my boyfriend could watch the game. The meat was amazing and seasoned and cooked very well. I had three pieces of lamb and it was by far the best tasting lamb I’ve ever had in my life. And I don’t normally eat lamb. Will totally go back there and I hope everyone else does too. Worth every penny of it.
Amazing verity of food. Smoked salmon and grilled pineapple are top of the list.
Food was very good. Had wide variety. Service slow and inattentive. Restaurant needs more life. Interior boring.
While I wouldn’t go here very often because of the cost, you do get your money’s worth with the buffet style. I took my son there for a special occasion, and we were not disappointed with our experience! The meat was divine, our server was very attentive to our needs. And the Salad bar alone had many delicious choices- smoked salmon, steamed shrimp, various salads and cheese selections.
We went for dinner during the week, and the place had very few customers- I hope their business flourishes, as it would be a shame to lose such a unique place.
I highly recommend this restaurant!
Johnson City, Tn
The best meal I have ever had at a restaurant. The best grilled chicken ever but the bacon wrapped fillet was my favorite.
High quality salad bar, meats and desserts!
It was very delicious. Meat was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The side items were very good. I do think for the $$$$ you pay that your drink and dessert should be included in the price. It was very good but probably will be a 1 time thing for us.
It's more than dinner it's an experience. Far more food than expected. The buffet had many great items but with the amount of meat that gets served at your table, be careful to not fill up on the stuff at the bar. Overall, great food and atmosphere but you better bring your appitite.
I love Brazilian steakhouses, and I always enjoy Rio de Brazil. The service and food are always excellent. Do not judge it by the exterior, which reveals the location’s previous career as a Pizza Hut, or that it is located between a veterinarian and an auto repair training facility on a somewhat dingy street in somewhat dingy Johnson City. The atmosphere is pleasant, service is highly attentive, and the food is excellent. Pricewise, it is a bit high for Johnson City. However, the charge is about 60% of that you would pay at the Brazilian steakhouse in Charlotte or any Fogo de Chao in the South. While the salad bar is a little better in Charlotte and Atlanta or New Orleans, it is certainly not 40% better. Most days you can walk in for lunch or dinner with no difficulty. On special occasions like Mother’s Day, week before Christmas, etc, reservations are wise, even for lunch. It is excellent value for the money. Noise level is not high, and background music is Latin if not necessarily Brazilian.I recommend it.
We had a great Mother's Day dinner. The food and service were excellent. Everyone worked together as a team. The manager made frequent visits to the table to ensure everything was okay. All the meats were delicious. This is a great new place in Johnson City.
Wonderful place, excellent food!
Great place for celebrating a special occasion.
Excellent food especially liked the flank steak and pork parmesan. Very friendly and courteous staff. Glasses were never empty... plates always full!
