Rinato Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This was my third visit to Rinato since the new owners took over. It used to be Bridgeman's, one of my local favorites. My impression after the first 2 visits was that it was OK, but not up to Bridgeman's standards. Now I'd have to say it's growing on me, and I'll definitely be back. It was a very quiet night, which helped, and both of us thought our meals (a haddock special and shrimp scampi) were excellent. Our waitress was very personable and efficient, and their prices are reasonable.
Irma was our waitress and she was very attentive and gracious. Excellent timely service. Menu choices were very nice-varied. Love the small plate idea too. It was a first time there for all 4 of us and we will plan another visit in the future.
Excellent food, creative menu for fine and casual dining (a small selection of sandwich-type meals but a very tempting entree menu and fantastic appetizers, fresh ingredients, extensive wine list. Great service, not too loud. Delicious. I'll go back again!
My husband and I went in July. Service was great . Food was fabulous.
We went last Saturday night. We were ignored for 30 minutes . Had to ask for a server twice . She took our drink order drinks did not arrive for another 15 minutes as the server Cleared tables around us then left
We complained to manger who brought out our drinks and took our order .
Food was great
Server again disappeared. Another waitress helped us get another drink and the rest of our meals
Drinks should have been compt. And apologies made. Server eventually can with bill and made some excuse for bad service.
Not sure I would go back given the service . Too bad it would be nice to have restaurants with consistent good food and good service in Hull
Went with my husband to celebrate a new job. Perfect night to dine outside watching the water as the sun set then watching the full moon rise. Waitress was attentive, cheerful and friendly and food was delicious. My husband said his was the best tenderloin he's had and I loved the cobbler for dessert. The owners wife came to chat with us near the end and she's really lovely. We will definitely be back!
We've never been disappointed at Rinato Bistro! The menu is tasty and varied, there're a variety of satisfying drink options and the decor is spare but pleasant. Especially enjoyed the virtual fireplace at our table on a chilly night! We love to sit outside but clearly that's not possible year round and it's a bit noisy indoors. Otherwise it's one of our favorite spots in town!
We had an anniversary dinner there 21st, when we walked in they knew who we were , they gave us a special table, the service and smiles were outstanding. The food was beyond reproach. I grew up with the Chef but I am not bias, if there was a problem I would tell you.

Excellent food and very good service even as we could tell the staff was new. Nice atmosphere for a dinner date until the bar gets too loud. The bar's noise and WS television intrudes on the dining experience. Could stock a better NA beer than the absolute worst-tasting NA beer on the market.

Went here on a Friday night. There were a bunch of open tables so I was skeptical at 7:30 when we walked in. However, Debra and Tory were awesome servers; quick and friendly. I had the margarita flatbread which was good, I liked the thick dough. Then my bf had the short ribs which were juicy and accompanied by mashed and carrots. I had the scallops which were seriously some of the best I've ever had. They were a tiny bit spicy but so soft and the sweet corn risotto matched it perfectly! I would go back tomorrow LOL!
My husband and I chose this spot due to the original Bridgemans outdoor seating area. We have been to Bridgemans before and enjoyed the food. We figured we would have dinner, and sit outside by the fire after dinner for a drink. Upon arrival, the outdoor seating area is now table seating for dinner. So we were very disappointed with that. We had a 6 30 reservation, arrived early, the restaurant not even close to being busy at that point. They sat us by the door. As the night went on and as the restaurant getting busier. The waitress's were all over the place. I'm not a restaurant manager, but I would think you would want your wait staff to flow with their stations. Instead, we saw waitress's running outside for tables out there, going upstairs and waiting tables where we were sitting, which was in the bar area. We had to wait quit along time, for the waitress to remove our plates and get the check. Also, the Bartender was brand new. She had to attend bar and serve food for those patrons. Not including, having to make drinks for the entire restaurant. OMG! shouldn't you have (2) people. It was her first night, and she should have had assistance to get her up to speed. Even for an experienced bartender, that's an awful lot of work for (1) person. In all, we were disappointed for our night out, and we would not go back there again. We were looking for warmer setting, and this didn't make the grade.
I felt very bad for out waitress-she was very attentive but for some reason it took the bartender 20 min to pour a glass of wine & make a vodka tonic! Then it took the kitchen 45 minutes to make 2 salads.......I wasn't even hungry when my steak tips came a half hour AFTER my salad. Will not be going back
Was just lovely! Gave it 5 stars just because it was exactly as it should be - a perfect neighborhood choice. Much better pasta than another local restaurant which is highly regarded but just phoning it in and this point. Recommend giving this new incarnation a try.
My husband and I both had the duck breast. Very good. Our friends had halibut and Ahi tuna and they also enjoyed their meals. This is our second time at this new restaurant and both times it has been virtually empty. We hope it makes a go of it.....nice addition to the neighborhood.
We made reservations for 4 online at Open Table on the same day without a problem. We arrived a little early so we sat at the bar for a drink. Bartender was very sociable, drinks were good! At the appointed time we were led to a table overlooking Nantasket Beach. It was incredible. We started with appetizers which were out of this world - crab cakes and the Italian nachos. Two of us had the Seafood Ciapinno, one had salmon and one had a brisket special. We all shared a taste with each other. The food was superb! Prices are a bit high but for that special occasion or treat it is well worth it!
We 5 friends got there early and had a drink at the bar. The barmaid was really EXCELLENT. She's not only creative but because no one else was there yet, she's VERY conversational and has an interesting background. We booked online (open table) and we were told that because we booked in advance online, we would be seated upstairs and likely have a view. When we were being seated a few tables away from the window, we asked about this. We were offered a table for 4 in the corner (around the wall away from everyone else) and she said she would just squeeze another seat in....no thanks. After this, the service was very good. Food was fine. I got a Seafood Cioppino. It was very good, but a little on the skimpy side for $22. It has fish, shrimp and mussels. Plenty of mussels, a decent amount of shrimp, but, ironically very little fish. My BF got the short ribs....tasty, but a little on the chewy side....for $25 a little pricey. We will likely go back for the barmaid. She was fun and full of interesting information....she's a real gem... I think her name was Crystal.
Had a lovely diner at this seaside restaurant across from Nantasket Beach. Our meal started with fresh, hot melt in your mouth bread and a tasty hummus dip. The pan-seared sea scallops were delicious, served over a corn risotto (the tastiest I've ever had) with an added side of grilled asparagus (oh, so good). My husband had the clam chowder and the fried haddock sandwich with french fries. He said both the chowder and the haddock sandwich were excellent. We topped off the meal by sharing the warm blueberry bread pudding, which was amazing. Next time I'd get it topped with ice cream. The service was great and we look forward to our next visit.
New owners and chef didn't please! Brought a couple from out of town, many problems!
1. Served chowder without a spoon & no crackers, told server, not our waitress my quest needs a spoon & crackers, after waiting 5 minutes, no response, we asked another waitress to help, finally he gets spoon & crackers 10 minutes later, I told him to send it back, but he didn't, although it was not hot and he only ate a few bites as it also wasn't very good, too many potatoes!
2. Our other guest ordered Crusted Ahi-Tuna & broccoli raub, tuna came out in a big chunk instead of thinly sliced which took a lot away from the dish and the broccoli raub was tastless & watery.
3. To top it off, the breaded veal dish that was ordered was "shoe leather" & not breaded, that went back for a burger at this point. They took the veal off the bill, but charged for everything else, including the burger, which now came 10 minutes after the rest of us had finished.
4. The Haddock dish was good but barely warm, 1 meal, the trout special, was very good.
Needless to say, we miss Bridgeman's and will not be returning to Rinalto Bistro any time soon!
Service was slow. Nachos had barely any cheese on them (we requested more on the side). My focaccia bread was burnt. The Banana's Foster had less than half a banana and no ice cream. SMALL portions. The food we got tasted good minus the burnt bread. Not likely to return and we used to go 4-5 times a year.
We had high hopes for the new concept and menu but they were dashed immediately upon arrival for our Sunday evening reservation. The restaurant's lower level was empty but for a few patrons at the bar and one group seated at a table. The young hostess directed our group of 4 to the worst high top in the bar area where chairs on one side teeter on uneven floor surfaces. We were never asked if we preferred to sit at a lower table in the non-bar side, upstairs, or even out on the patio. (She asked ALL later arriving patrons their preference, even those without a reservation. Of note: we were not walk-ins, our reservation had been made 6 days in advance.) We asked to be moved to a lower, non-bar area table. The hostess seemed annoyed and only agreed to move us to another hightop, one table away from the previous table. She mumbled something about tables being reserved, but there were plenty of open tables and they were still open when we left. Even walk-ins were being given tables of their choice. (Since we were in the front of the bar area, we were close enough to hear the hostess welcoming other guests.) Customer service is important. Given the amount of open tables, one would hope staff would have been trained to respect preferences, if possible. Our waitress while very friendly, seemed new at the job and was very tentative in serving, refilling water, etc. Food was just ok. That, combined with the actions of the hostess make it unlikely we will return.
Not recommended and won't be going back. We asked to sit upstairs because of the view but the noise level was so loud despite the room being half full (staff confirmed we weren't the first to complain). Noise on the first floor was better but louder than typical. View of the kitchen was nice except the middle glass pane being cracked. Food was tasty enough but wasn't hot enough and not in alignment with price or what the restaurant is trying to achieve. No need to go back for us
Poor service, beginning with the hostess who had not a clue. Had to get menus ourselves off another table. There are magazines on the tables. The food was mediocre, the kitchen was slow. The renovation is just sad. Bridgeman's was on our list of reliable restaurants. We won't be going back to Rinato's.
Previously, we had only been to the bar at Rinato Bistro and enjoyed it very much. Dinner there was even more of a treat. Although our waiter seemed a little frazzled, and our first course was a little slow to arrive, he was very nice and the flatbread was worth the wait. In fact, all of the food was excellent. The scallops I had were some of the best I've ever eaten. My husband's chicken parma was tender and delicious. We dined upstairs with a view of the beach, but more casual dining was available on the first floor and the outdoor patio seating was quite busy. We were celebrating our anniversary, but we are now looking forward to making Rinato Bistro a regular stop.
Arrived for our 8pm reservation and were seated right away. It did however take at least 25 mins to take our drink order. In general the service was quite poor. Our entrees arrived an hour after we ordered them. The shining star was that everyone enjoyed their meal once they received them. The serving staff and kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed. They did compensate by removing an appetizer from our bill due to the slow service. Not sure we are eager to head back anytime soon.
I dined here on a Friday evening, 5pm, it was not very busy at that time but when we left there were a lot of guests. I am a huge fan of salmon and went for the salmon on the Sandwich Board option. It came in a toasted pita, w/ arugula, roasted corn, aoli. The salmon was good size and perfectly cooked. The outside was just slightly crisp and the inside tender. Heavenly. Ordered a side of mashed as well as the sweet potato waffle fries that was superb! Sweet potato was sweet and fluffy inside and the outside cooked just right and nice seasoning. Service could not be better - very pleasant waitstaff and a wonderful evening spent. Highly recommend for dinner/drinks, etc. Can't wait to go back!
The Filet Mignon was a little too charred for me but I ate the whole thing so it was very good. The crispy eggplant was neither crispy nor hot, nothing special. The corn risotto was okay, I think I'm over risotto. They only had a glass and a half of the Reisling and it was a 3 glass night.
