Glenn and Reggie are the best!
we have been going to the St Regis in Deer Valley for many years. now that JG Grill is gone and the new RIME restaurant is in its place, it was a very disappointing experience.
they have changed the menu, no more wonderful Mussels that we loved, and the prices of everything are so high!
i understand with Covid that things have changed, but certainly not for the "better" here.
Came here for an anniversary and we had an amazing experience. Food was delicious, our server Lisa was fabulous and knowledgeable and the ambiance was calming and delightful.
Nice but small outside area overlooking unusiually green mountainside (for Park CIty).
Awesome service menu setting and food, great drink and wine list too. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable without being overly effusive
Food looked like it came out of a Denny’s. Denny’s even tastes better
Food is always delicious. The room is lovely and the staff are pleasant and attentive. One of the best restaurants in Park City.
Ate outside, social distanced, with puppy. Food and cocktails were awesome. Beautiful day - almost felt "normal"
Nice getaway from current reality
This is definitely a place to come to for the view... you are paying for the view... The service is pretty decent. The view is magnificent. The food is pretty decent. The drinks are pretty amazing. Love to come here with just my wife for the brunch. (seems this is on hold due to covid). However, we brought some friends over the weekend and they were duly impressed.
We had eaten in the bar at the St. Regis, but his was the first time in the restaurant. Not cheap, but we had a great time, great service, and the food was delicious. Recommended for a nice night out. A bonus is the ride up the funicular to get to the restaurant with beautiful views.
Fantastic experience and terrific food! Highly recommend!
We were fortunate enough to have a bonus from my company to splurge on a dinner here. Service was good, some menu items were fanstastic; I loved the scallop cru, my girlfriend liked the lobster w/avacado mousse app. But most of the food was mediocre - the rolls were absolutely forgettable (and we love bread!), the mushroom app was good not great. She received the wrong salmon app - the one with the salmon on garlic bread which to here was a flat out travesty. But, in the case of my main - the pan roasted lobster, chorizo, and fennel with sherry which, as a fan of both lobster and chorizo but never having had together, I was highly anticipating - was a flat out disaster. Described as pan roasted with sherry, it comes drowned in a far too rich sauce. I can't say this enough - it's criminal to charge people $56 for that an an entree. My girlfriend got the ~$100 NY strip of aged beef and it was good but she, being the red-meat lover of the family, has had far better steaks both more and less expensive elsewhere.
Service was good 2/3rds of the way through but then the wheels fell off and, at about 60% full, it wasn't particularly busy. As a former server a lifetime ago, the easiest way to kill an experience is let the guests drag on at the end with dirty plates and no attention, which is what happened to us where we had to ask for the check.
They have spent a lot of effort and resources on the restaurant, and it presents well - the menu looks great and the ambiance is nice - but, for my own money next time, I would find somewhere else.
We went here for a special occasion and I asked for a table next to a window or the fireplace. First we didn't get that but second we were seated in between two families. We heard game peeps and pings all night from one side and loud yelling from the other side. Food is very overpriced for what you get. Crab toast was good and cocktails were good but overpriced. I had the swordfish. It was four 1 inch squares for $48 with no sides and it was dry and unappealing! We also had the scallops which were good. The spaghetti squash had no flavor whatsoever. Smore dessert was very good. Our server was also very good. Will not go back. All dishes need to a price reduction. This is plain and simple a grill of no distinction. Don't waste your time and money!
Amazing experience. Glenn was our server and he was superb. Attentive, personable, timely - everything you want in a server. We had delicious steaks, “the best tuna I’ve ever eaten” (my son’s words) and do not miss the gingerbread donuts. The cocktails were superb and the wine list was extensive and impressive. A must visit if you’re in Park City!
Excellent dining experience! Highly recommend
This is overall a lovely place to be and we have dined there for many, many, many years both when my children were young and recently! I have to say that this was the WORST dinner I have EVER had there. I brought some dear friends for their FIRST visit. The dining room staff that greeted us and seated us were RUDE and HORRIBLE. The Manager of these people was EVEN WORSE. VERY pretentious and RUDE and even after I had made a reservation in advance and requested a table by the window, he tried to force us several times to sit at the only bad table in the house next to the service thoroughfare. There were MANY open tables that had NOBODY sitting at them or even reservations as they explained to us...It seemed they were saving them (for someone important to walk in) even thought they said tables can't be saved or even requests may not be granted (the usual stuff). We sat in the lobby staring at the empty tables for a half hour. They then told us to sit at the bar in a line.... and we said no we made a reservation for a nice table....this went on.... after another drink in the lobby, they offered for us to sit in the back room near the wine room. No one was in there but one full table. Thanks for the offer to put us in the "closet" but NO! So finally I guess we had been in timeout long enough and they finally sat us at at one of the many tables in the main dining room that was being "saved" for someone! First world problems I know but I would not expect this from the St. Regis or their staff. I think they need to take a look at what is going on there for sure. SAVE YOUR MONEY and EAT SOMEWHERE else that appreciates you and is thankful you chose them. There is a lot of amazing places to chose from with KIND people in Park City and Deer Valley other than RIME.
The food and staff were good however the entrees took at least 45 minutes to arrive once the appetizers were cleared, it made for a long evening but I’ll assume this was an abnormality.
Delicious food in a beautiful restaurant with great slopeside views. Outdoor apres ski by the fire is fun too!
The servers were not very friendly this last visit, very different from every other time we’ve been there. Our food was so cold some of my friends even sent their food back.
Eh. This place has gone consistently downhill since the early JG days. Portion sizes are tiny for the price and food quality, while relatively high, still doesn't come close to the prices charged. Menu almost unchanged since JG (weird -- considering a new name) and place seems to be catering to corporate events / business accounts. Service was way off -- delivered entrees and appetizers at same time and then just sent the re-heated items back to the table 15 minutes later; charged for items not ordered, wrong wine on bill. Overall a real disappointment. We have been going every ski season for a "special" dinner and will likely not return.
I recommend this restaurant for the delightful service. The prices for the food are outrageous for the quality we experienced with the entrees. I would go back and have an assortment of apps.
We had salmon and swordfish--and both entrees plus a side of broccolini and mashed potatoes were outstanding! The setting is lovely and the service top notch.
Did not give them 5s across all categories due to incredibly high prices. Most entrees are $40-50....this is NYC pricing
Slow service, but lots of awesome views to wait it out. Great food
They took extra care of us after finding out it was close to one of our birthdays . The food was all plated beautifully. Exceeded my expectations
Best Burger in Utah! Great food, great service. Always a special meal.
Service at the restaurant. Valet and St. Regis service was disappointing, to say the least... The Funicular they tell you to use is dirty, cold and smells.
My husband and I had an outstanding meal at RIME. The seafood and Caesar salad were excellent and the dining was comfortable, quiet and very pretty--overlooking the ski trails. We'll definitely return.
Absolutely terrible experience, particularly for a St. Regis. Very understaffed. Three examples: the table next to us waited 15 min to even order drinks. The bus boy dropped off the drink menu and while the guest was trying to order he said “I can’t answer any questions” and walked away while the guest was mid sentence trying to order. (both our tables were laughing at how service could possibly be this bad). Our waitress told us we had to get the buffet and couldn’t order off menu for another hour... then 10 min later guests were being seated with menus and ordering... when we questioned her on this she literally walked away while I was speaking and made a “brush off” gesture with her hand while walking away muttering “I don’t run this place”. Finally... we ordered toast and it took 30 minutes to come and required speaking to four different wait staff.... all at a St Regis. Appalling. The only consolation was ultimately the manager comped our meal, which was appreciated.
Decent food but ridiculously show. Almost 90 minutes to get our food. Over 2 hours all in for lunch.
This place has gorgeous ambience but the food was absolutely disappointing. Everything was way salty even the salad! It was drenched in salt. I never send anything back but I could not swollow it. My husband's $38 steak pieces were absolutely salty as well. So much for X mas Eve lunch. We will never go back.
It's such a pity because it is a gorgeous restaurant.
During the whole time, our waiter came to our table once to check if the food was ok only after I asked another waitress to help flag down our waiter cos the food was so salty. Oh to add to the experience we had to send back the side plates as it looked appallingly dirty. St. Ridges did not cut it all all. Never going back.
Food and service were amazing. Great place to visit for special occasions.
We had a pre-dinner drink at the bar, great service by Kyle. Very friendly and welcoming. Informed us of all the new updates and changes going on at the restaurant.
We were greeted by a very friendly staff at the host stand. Our dinner service was wonderful. Upon being seated, Glenn and Reggie both remembered us from our last visit. Glen provided wonderful service and all courses were timed perfectly. The food was delicious. Mitch provide wonderful wine service and was knowledgeable about the wine we had. J&G is one of our favorite spots in town.
We had an issue with a gift certificate the last time we were in. Byard ensured that the gift certificate would go through this time and made us feel very welcome when we arrived. Great customer service in resolving an issue. Above and beyond!
We come several times a year and we are always made to feel special. Our favorite server Glenn has the perfect style: he seems happy to see us and asks about our stay in Park City. He remembers what we like. He makes excellent recommendations for both food and wine. His service is impeccable. And thanks also to the chef: each dish is delicious and artfully presented.
Loved riding up in the funicular!
Food was awful. The pizzas and soup came out lukewarm. The prices are ridiculous: ($73 for salmon? Are you kidding me?)
The server could not have been nicer, but the restaurant itself was a massive disappointment. Will never go back.
Sorry to have to give this a not great review but this was NOT J&G grill that we signed up for. Food was very average and this was a very special occasion! After 12 years together, my fiance and I decided to get married (first marriage for both of us) and celebrate by having our very small group (6 people) head to dinner at J&G grill for dinner after the celebration. Kind of a special occasion? We noted it on our reservation as well as our friend who did the ceremony knew the hostess and told her as well. My husband was a bit upset when I told him i mentioned it as he didn't want anyone to do anything special for us. LOL - they did absolutely NOTHING. Not even a 'congratulations' from the hostess, waitress, anyone. The table was completely bare and we sat in the middle of an entirely empty restaurant. To top it off the food was mediocre average and nothing special. Just recently found out the executive chef quit the night or week before our dinner. But even so, the prices were still very high (which would have been ok if the food warranted it) but to not even say a 'congratulations' was a bit of a slap in the face. very sorry we picked this restaurant for our once in a lifetime celebration. Not trying to say we needed any special treatment but not one congratulations from anyone, chef didn't come out, manager didn't come out, they just wanted us to get in and out and we were pretty much the only table in the place. Sorry but Not a great memory for our wedding celebration.
Fabulous food and service!
Waitstaff was not engaged. Waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged in a half empty room. Food was just average at a price point that should demand better. Overall a beautiful venue with a disappointing experience.
