This restaurant needs better management.
We had a reservation at 6:00. Checked in 5 minutes early and was told it would be 5-10 minutes. After 40 minutes i talked to the hostess…she had forgotten about us. She then told some diners they had to leave, cleaned the table and seated us. We ordered a bottle of wine and our food. The waitress was a nice gal but spilled a full glass of wine all over me. I dried off as much as I could. She apologized but sitting in wet clothes is uncomfortable. On the bright side it took so, so long to get the Sushi roll I ordered my clothes were dry by the time we left the restaurant.
Needless to say we won’t return. The food was mediocre at best so there is no reason for a return visit.
Great food. Great server. Looove it here. They knew we were going to see a 8pm show so they put out order in front of line.
Went in for pancakes. Not on menu. Told later they do serve them. Ordered sandwiches One half was not eaten. Other was not flavorful n bacon cooked hard. Service was good. But afraid to try other dishes.
The waitress tried to charge me with two drinks when i only had one. the won ton soup had only 3 wontons in it. the maitradee rolled her eyes when i said i would pay for my meal in cash instead on charging my room. This was not a positive experience
Some food was cold, like the shrimp tempura. Spring rolls weren’t crispy, they were soft and tasted horrible. Service was great though and they credited us back for the things we didn’t like/things that were cold.
Overpriced. Nigiri was tiny and not that fresh. Rolls were good.
Never give top score. But I gave the next closest. Been there several times, have not been disappointed.
Bar drinks and wine was very good and reasonably priced.
We chose Rim Asian Bistro for our 13th anniversary dinner while staying at GSR. I made reservations online, and ticked the box that let them know we are celebrating an anniversary. We arrived on time but the table wasn’t ready. Came back 15 minutes later and were seated at the smallest table against a rough stone wall right at the entrance. Wow. How romantic. Why even ask if we’re celebrating something? Ok, enough about that. Let’s talk about service and food. AWFUL. We ordered spring rolls, which, mind you, are just three small veggie egg rolls for $11, and two sushi rolls. Forty-five minutes we waited for our dinner, just sitting there with everyone watching us… Then one roll came. And another 15 minutes. Finally grabbed the attention of the host and complained. We had watched tables order and finish their entire meals before we got ours. First bite of the GSR roll and I knew we made a big mistake. Gross.
Huge damper on our evening.
Ordered sushi and the beef chow fun. The noodles were 90% of my dish and was just not good. I did not eat it. The sushi was not good at all. Tasted old. My husband did get the albacore sashimi and he liked his.
Fried rice dish was awful! It was tasteless. Contain few veggies and very little meat and they raised the price to $18 and cut the portion in half.
The food was delicious. We were seated in a added dining room which was across from the restaurant so the service suffered because the waiters were a little stretched and the restaurant was a little understaffed like many others at this time.
I felt rushed. The appetizers came out with our food. Portions were small. Food was fine. My hot tea was hot water and a tea bag. Expect more from Asian cuisine. Second order of rice didn't come. For the service and food portion, very pricy. No special drinks and split desserts. Serve for five out the door $150 included tip
This used to be the best restaurant at Grand Sierra, but sadly it’s now about the sorriest excuse for Asian cuisine in all of Reno. The food and drink are vastly overpriced, the quality and quantity are lacking. Seasoning is nonexistent and the staff seem confused and uncoordinated. I had made a reservation and when we were seated in the middle of the restaurant with servers brushing past us on all sides, I was told that there were no other tables available even though the restaurant was mostly empty at 8 on a Sunday night. It’s been a long time since I have felt so absolutely ripped off by a restaurant, I wanted to give them a second chance after a disappointing experience last summer during the height of COVID, but after this I won’t ever be going back.
The reservation is irrelevant. We had to wait 45 minutes before we’ve got the table. The hostess got bad attitude, she asked us to walked away for 25 minutes and come back but still no table. She didn’t attempt to save the table for us but let people without reservation to wait at site. Of course they got the table ahead of us because we’re told to come back. I’m wondering should I still reserve table through Open Table ?
The hostess was rude. The server was nice but wasn't good at checking on his guests and making sure they had everything. They forgot a roll we ordered. Our table had a couple sticky spots. The food was delicious though.
Overall good experience and dining for our night out on the beautiful town.
The food was cooked to order we enjoyed it very much
The Sushi rolls were average. There was really nothing on the menu that stood out and the flavors were nothing that I want to write about. The service was excellent and our server went above and beyond. She was delightful.
Great place for dinner. Service was average last night - server seemed spread thin so no attention to detail like not enough plates for our group and requests were slow on coming.
Duck was full of bones- very little meat
Service was terrible. Food quality has went down use to be our favorite restaurant
One of the worst experiences at a restaurant we have ever had. There was only one serve on who seemed overwhelmed and could have used more help. We had missing drinks, long wait times, when we asked to see a manager there was no one on duty and no one that could help us or the server with anything. I’ve worked in food service for many years so I don’t blame the server for the terrible service but as a Reno local I was very disappointed taking my out of town visitors here, especially paying the amount we did and the absolute lack of customer service on all parts.
The food was mediocre and there was a mouse in the restaurant.
Nice place, friendly service, good food, try the tempura, you will love it!
They have some artisan cocktails on the menu also that are delicious
Sushi was good also.
I would recommend this place
Food was really good. Peking duck, honey walnut chicken, asian salad, dragon roll were all excellent. Servings were quite small for the price. Place was packed on Saturday night and staff were extremely busy. Casual dining atmosphere, but they could impose some more decent dress codes.
They haven’t gotten back to high quality service yet but the food is good and they are tolerant of the kiddos.
Looking forward to better service ahead.
Our regular waitress Jeanie was not working but the food is always good. If you like it spicy ask for the green drops in your sushi rolls.
I like the variety of food that Rim offers. My husband got the Korean Short Ribs and I ordered sushi. Everyone wins!
The Main dishes were excellent. The Apitizers were just okay. The service was excellent.
The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality and the service was top notch.
The shrimp dish I had was phenomenal. The sauces were absolutely delicious. I was amazed by the number of shrimp in each tasting sample. It was huge portion of shrimp for the price. The sweet spicy sauce was amazing with a slight spice to sweetness on the palette. The service was very prompt and the food arrived in a timely manner. The fried rice was not greasy and was tasty and fresh. I look forward to come back and dine at Rim. I want to try the All You Can Eat Sushi next time. Rim is a high end Chinese food restaurant that will tantalize your taste buds. It was nice to dine at a restaurant where I didn't feel like I was in a casino.
What a wonderful experience.
We have been to Rim several times.
This dinner met all our expectations.
The server was at the top of her game.
Very pleasant and just the right level of casual conversation. Our order was taken and everything arrived cooked hot and on time.
I had the Mongolian beef...OMG..what a delicious meal.
My wife had sweet and sour chicken.
Again it was perfect.
I made a special effort to compliment the manager about our wonderful experience.
In the past we did not enjoy the meal and on occasion sent our dim sum back since it was( the pork,) was RAW.
Not this time...
It was refreshing since they apparently have a new chef.
We will definitely return again.
Please give them a try.
Love the potstickers and pad Thai here! Also, sushi bar is good too!
The dinner was fantastic and the waitress was terrific!
Went there for Chinese New Year dinner. Crispy duck was excellent, Tempura shrimp and vegetables for terrific!
Good food, great service....would recommend a gluten free menu.
Outstanding meal - food and service were great!
Excellent food, Waitress is nice, very friendly staff, food is good, we like the sushi. Mongolian beef has lots of flavors and texture. Definitely, will comes back next visit.
Made a reservation for Christmas day dinner through Open table. Arrived 10 minutes early for reservation, and was informed by hostess, that they had given away our table by mistake! She told us that it would be at least 30-40 minutes before another table was available, and that we could eat at the bar. Bar was not that busy, bartender took quite a while to finally take our order. Drinks had still not arrived by the time the food finally was served. Had to remind the bartender that he still had not made our first round of drinks. Bartender copped an immediate attitude! Quite possibly the worst Rainbow Roll I have ever had, very small pieces that were tasteless with hard avocado in the middle. Reminded me of the sushi you get at a supermarket, but not that good! With all the great Reno sushi and Oriental restaurants available, this is one I would never go back to. Overall a miserable dining experience for a holiday meal. I was born and raised here, not impressed with GSR.
