Choosing the Riegelsville Inn was a happenstance. We were in Easton, PA with reservations in hand and decided after seeing the restaurant we chosen to seek out something different. So glad we did and thanks to Google Maps.
From the reception at the host stand, to being seated and promptly waited on, the experience was extremely pleasant. The Inn, certainly rich in history, offered a few choices for dining areas. We chose the front dining room at one of the windows where we could observe the water, traffic and foot traffic headed to the canal walkway.
Our first course was a shrimp appetizer with a bottle of Moscato. That was followed with brunch menu selections which were pleasantly presented and excellent.
A fortunate find for us and one that we intend to visit again.
Great food, service, and ambience.
So nice and quaint and good!
Valentine's day was an adventure. They were behind in reservations so we had to wait. The wait staff had way too many tables and could not keep up and the kitchen was slow. Our reservation was late and they ran out of Filet, which was disappointing. Overall the food wasn't good enough. Final thought, atmosphere is nice, but when there is alternative music pumping out of the speakers on Valentine's day, it kind of takes away from it. Probably will not be back.
We’d like to take moment to thank you for sharing your comments with us. There is no more valuable tool for improvement then direct feedback, both good and bad, from our valued customers. We’re sorry that we disappointed you. I promise you that your experience with us was far short of our typically very high standard of service. If you would be willing to give us another chance I’m highly confident that we could earn back your business. Again, our sincerest apologies.
Food was great as usual- but the reservations app and management of the reservations timing and kitchen capacity wasn’t properly set up as it took more than 2 hours to get served our meal. When it finally arrived, food was great - great Chef, great cooks, not so good at reservation management....
You’re absolutely correct that we became overwhelmed on Valentine’s Day. We sincerely apologize for falling short of our normally very high standards of service. Thank you very much for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your food even though it took far to long for it to reach your table. We look forward to another opportunity to do a better job of serving you in the future.
We usually love our time here, this time the wait to be served was long, food was cold, lightbulbs were burnt out... just a general feel of lack of care or concern. Hard to be so disappointed by one of our favorites.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. There’s no question that we fell behind on Valentine’s Day. As you know from your many visits, this experience was the exception and certainly not the rule. We’re sorry that we let you down this past Friday and we look forward to our next opportunity to make it up to you.
Been here a few times the past couple years, and started having our anniversary dinner here. The service and food is always great, and the age and character of the building make the experience even better. Tonight out server “Cunningham” was great from the moment we walked though the door! He sat us right next to the fireplace in the dining room, which was pretty cool. We will definitely have many more meals here in the future:)
Had a Wonderful dinner with Friends, everything was perfect 👌
I love sitting in front of the roaring fireplace. So far I have tried two different soups and they have been excellent. I didn't care for my chicken dish and it was my fault since I should have noticed the cream in the sauce. My husband loved his steak. We wll be back.
Great setting - lots of menu options - friendly service - wonderful food and drink. What else can you ask for? Will go again!
Good time thx the steak was great and the waiter was great
Like dining at a friends house - beautiful setting inside and out. Staff very friendly and attentive.
We had a good meal and an overall satisfactory experience. We will go back for sure.
Service was a little slow considering we were the only table in the dining room but I suppose that based on the volume in the pub it was busy over there. Food was very good as always. Server was attentive and friendly.
Christmas Eve dinner .. the entire experience exceeded our expectations, but particularly the excellence of the food! The quality, presentation & taste were amazingly great. Truly outstanding - we’ll be back!
Festive, enjoyable Christmas Eve dinner
Always a great meal in a historic setting... the brunch is fabulous!
Magnificent old stone building sets a quaint and charming atmosphere for a delightful evening of fine dining. The dinners looked great and tasted even better! And for winter dining, the fireplace room is the perfect spot.
We always enjoy the good music at the pub after dinner, and we're never disappointed with their menu and great service.
We’ve been here multiple times for dinner and absolutely love it. This is the first time for brunch and it did not disappoint. Even out friends from out of town loved it. Our service and food were amazing.
We ate in the Tavern; very cozy and welcoming. Warmth from the fireplace. Building dates to the 1800’s.
Food was great - we ordered from the bar menu. Onion soup and chicken pot pie were outstanding. Friendly staff.
We live about 85 miles away and will be going back.
AS ALWAYS- food, service, ambience OFF THE HOOK!! our only complaint Saturday night- it was chilly in the dining room- we could have sat in the Tavern area near a roaring fire, or in the back dining room, by a roaring fire, but we stubbormly decided to sit at our regular table, with a view of the Riegelsville Bridge. Our bad. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!!
The menu presented itself as being creatively balanced, which is one reason we chose to try it out. We weren't disappointed. Our meals were delicious and plentiful. If in the area give it try. We will be back agin.
Yummy deviled eggs, delish specialty cocktails!
A wonderful place to spend a fall evening! Friendly staff, good food, and an excellent performance by live bands. Can’t wait to go back the next time me and my wife are in the area.
Food was amazing and our server Joe was outstanding. We will be back, next time we will try the pub side for the live music.
My wife and I went to the Inn for lunch on a Saturday. It was outstanding. The food was spectacular but also different. The Mac and cheese with crab was to die for. The crab cakes were the same. The pot pies blended comfort with zest. The atmosphere was incredibly comfortable. A 10 all around.
We got there 15 minutes early we were seated right away got drinks within minutes menu was very good we had the brunch the food was excellent the service awesome we will definitely be back! Especially sense we just moved to the area
Always a Wonderful Experience
A weekday lunch on a cold rainy fall bike ride. We went in wet gear and all hoping maybe for hot chili.
No chili, but they had delicious french onion soup and duck cassoulet pot pie. A very nice upgrade!
Sampled a bit from the bar also. Definitely worth a return visit, when we're drier.
We were a party of seven and were given the choice to dine in/outdoors. We chose the outdoor balcony for our brunch spot. It was lovely! The food was very good as were the drinks. Out waiter was outstanding. We'll definitely be back.
Such a lovely setting. The stone walls, upstairs porch and Delaware River makes it so romantic, BUT the service was so slow, over 1 hour to receive our mea. from when we ordered. It was only a steak and a wrap.
The waiter Evan walked by our table many times and didn't even look at us. We placed our cocktail glasses at the edge of the table for refills and he never noticed. We received freshened water only once, about 1 1/2 hours into dinner. I think they were short handed and need more training. The server did mention it was a new chef and a new menu. We actually went there for a special item which was displayed on their website. They need to update that menu to reflect the new menu.
I need like the quiet of the upstairs porch. We may go back to the bar for the live music and drinks sometime.
Beautiful outside dining
How can you rate a restaurant by stars when the food was very good but the service was HORRIBLE? So I rated it good , not excellent! That was because the entrees (when they finally came out after over an hour plus waiting) were very tasty! After we had been waiting for about 45/50 minutes someone FINALLY did come over to offer us dessert even though we had not gotten past our salads....they said that another table's order had been taken in front of ours by mistake! That table must have been 6 or 8 people because we had such a long agonizing wait in front of us until our entrees finally arrived.
We had taken a nice ride to get to this restaurant and ordered almost right away (at about 615pm) and just had a short wait for our salads, which were very good, BUUUUT who knew we would have such a wait, and the strange thing is that only one person finally came to tell us about the problem! That part is NOT acceptable and if I were the manager or owner I would do whatever I could to keep the patron happy….offer a drink or an appetizer or something instead of dessert (LATER) when that was the last thing we wanted. We ALMOST did get up and leave but about 1 ½ hours later the food was presented. Either there is a problem in the kitchen with help, or there is a problem with servers (or both) but my husband and I could never return to this place. SORRY!
Beautiful restaurant.. have always enjoyed my time there
Riegelsville Inn is always a special place for us. It is a place to kick back, enjoy a drink and a meal and take in the ambiance of an 1800's tavern. We'll go again soon.
Brand new menus our first time there, very good service (Philly). Food was nicely prepared as ordered and very tasty. Dessert trio was excellent. Definitely worth another try.
Delicious brunch and cute atmosphere! Can’t wait to come back for dinner
Enjoyable early dinner at the Inn. Foie gras appetizer a bit under done. Calamari app very good. Salmon en croute a beautiful plating, but salmon a bit stodgy. Rack of lamb very good. Will go back again.
We biked 10 miles down the tow path specifically to have brunch here. The experience was fanatic. Three salads and one traditional breakfast were delicious. Peach and burratto salad was excellent. Tasty, fresh and scrumptious. Topped with scallops, the dish was hard to beat. Speaking of beets, two folks had the beet salad with salmon and chicken. Also lovely.
The famous Bloody Mary was good, with a nice selection of veggies added and a lovely piece of shrimp. I found that the taste sat on the back of the tongue which leaves room for more complexity. Mimosas were delicious.
Lastly, we sat outside along the same tow path that we bikes on. The view was wonderful. Also, service was fast and friendly.
