Justin was an amazing waiter! But this time the food was just so-so. It was great the first time but this time it was just missing the mark.
Great happy hour...good value and awesome food. Wish their dinner menu was a bit more affordable though. Love the atmosphere, it’s stunning and cozy.
Food and service were exceptional. Would recommend
Excellent food, wonderful service. Highly recommend. Kudos to Justin our server who was amazing.
Very attentive staff across the board, inventive food, great choices of wine and beer. Fun to sit at the wood fired grill and watch the chef at work
Our experience (and our food) was exceptional in every way. Great wine offerings, including Washington state wines. Each item of food we ordered was very well prepared and the flavors used by the chef to add to the fish, the salad, the sides and the soup were creative and delicious. Our server was first rate and a very likeable person. We highly recommend Rider.
Good delivery was a bit disjointed, but every thing was wonderful. Rachel was our server. She did well at exposing the core beliefs of the restaurant, menu, as well as making a genuine connection with us. Over all a great experience!
It was my wife’s birthday. I noted that on the reservation, but no one mentioned it. Last year they treated her very nicely on her birthday and she had a wonderful time. This was a big disappointment.
Is there such a thing as upscale Northwest cozy? That’s the vibe in Rider. Our server was a little off, repeating her questions and then when we had questions giving the answers to the wrong person; very strange... Still she managed to get our delicious orders correctly, and the serving support staff was very, very gracious and on top of things... Food was a delight - fresh Northwest modern without being fussy or pretentious, just a real appreciation for how the flavors are used together... chef was able to accommodate my request, very happy... Definitely want to eat here again, but will probably save for a special once-in-a-while; prices were about $8 more per entreé than we expected. Bill for two with appetizer, entrees, and one glass of wine was about $120. Worth a splurge. :-)
Very unique flavors with incredibly well done base ingredients. This is a restaurant for adventurous foodies who like to explore a place that does this right!
Great place for a good meal with local fare. Excellent service and really well prepared food. Halibut and trout were amazing! Fairly expensive but as usual the drinks cranked up the bill. About $100 per person with 2 drinks each. Still, I'd go again!
I have been to Rider twice now. First, for happy hour - a fantastic selection and great way to enjoy not only samples of the fare but also samples of their superior service! Second, sat down for a full meal. I've never had a meal that was perfect 10's with every course. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I highly encourage sharing so you can sample the most.
The meal took forever to arrive even though it was not full.
This was our third visit and every meal has been a delight.
Ate here twice in 2 days. Service was excellent both times, which is primarily the reason for returning (biz trip). Food was above average but not quite good enough to justify the cost at dinner; food was awesome at lunch the next day. Probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Enjoyed the nonalcoholic drink menu, which I don’t see often. Atmosphere is really cool and fun, only bad thing is I went home with my clothes smelling like grill smoke. I would still go back again given the chance.
We opted for the chef's tasting menu and could not have been happier. Amazing experience. Both other colleagues with me were equally impressed.
We very much enjoyed the tartar, which they prepared with ingredients that created unexpected (good) flavor combinations. We also recommend the trout and the salmon. Note that you enter near the middle of the block, not on the corner. Also, our food took longer than anticipated to arrive to the table.
The food was really delicious here, exceeded only by the service. I will say, however, that for the price the portions were a little small. If you go, order the rolls. The crab butter will haunt your dreams!
It was a great meal but another table was way too close to us. My friend was hit by another diner.
A great and unique experience. The oysters were amazing.
Brussels were way to hot. But our server recognized this and comped them.
A superb pre-theater dinner close to the 5th Ave Theater.
The Dungeness Crab Toast was an excellent appetizer. The halibut was excellent as was the Coho salmon with kale gnocchi and chanterelle mushrooms. The pull-apart rolls with Crab fat butter, Old Bay seasoning, and nutritional yeast were very good. The lemon tarte with blueberries and other fresh berries, and fresh mint and candied mint was a great dessert to share.
Our waiter, Justin, was superb. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. All of the restaurant staff were excellent.
I got an email that I never showed up for my reservation, but I was there. It’s just that my friend arrived first and he didn’t tell the host.
For dinner, the sides are really the highlight. Exquisite potato and cauliflower and Brussels sprout dishes. First courses are a bit odd—many are hard to share and few are like appetizers. The main dishes are delicious but expensive.
This was our 2nd meal at rider; breakfast then lunch. We are both very impressed with how well they prepare fish and the overall quality of ingredients. We will be returning.
Our family went for a birthday dinner and everyone enjoyed their meal. Delicious entrees duck, sturgeon, salmon and we tried a new menu item- wagyu beef carpaccio -amazing!! Definitely want to return
I had the sturgeon and calamari dish, cooked perfectly and beautifully plated. My wife had a scallop and pasta dish that tasted wonderful, but only contained 3 tiny bay scallops. In our opinion, it made the dish disappointing. The service was spot on and delightful. The ambience is classic sort of industrial chic...brick walls and exposed ductwork, etc. The cocktails were well made. They have a large assortment of whiskeys.
Amazing food and outstanding service, can’t wait to I back
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised. Usually larger restaurants do not deliver such exceptional high quality food. Thank you Chef! The halibut was cooked to perfection, as was the Coho salmon. Loved the crab toast & beat salad. Bartender makes yummy and creative cocktails. Service was exceptional, attentive without being overly intrusive. Whomever put this great group of people together- definitely knows what he/she they are doing. We will definitely return.
The chef’s five course tasting menu was the perfect date night dinner to end a vacation in Seattle. The wait staff was attentive, the environment is well decorated and comfortable and the food was incredible!
Ordered NY Strip Loin, got a plate with something i dont know what, 4 small slices of grilled meet said to be a strip loin. i doubt it was even 4 oz of meat. tasted ok. not particularity tender. taste was okay, but the dish was not what I belived I would receive
When you say you have NY Strip Loin on the menu, serve it!
What a great experience! We all enjoyed everything we tried- Parmesan dumplings, burrata and peach salad, various shellfish, blueberry and lemon tart, and donuts... all amazing. Service was perfect, the pace of the courses was just right, and the dining room was fun. We would definitely return if we are in Seattle again.
Loved it. Really good fresh food. Nicely prepared and a nice wine list.
Waiter was delightful but food took REALLY long to come out. Guests next to us food took even longer. I like farm to table but sometimes I just want regular bacon. Meh.
None of the food was memorable or outstanding. Server described food as being different than cheesecake factory.
I have had Brunch at Rider several times and it has always been delicious but my Husband and I recently when there for our Anniversary dinner and I think the dinner may have been even better than their hard to beat brunch. Service is wonderful and food is outstanding.
So delicious! Ordered two salads and tuna tartare to share-everything was outstanding and servers were very well versed on their delivery.
Amazing meal and service. Food was fresh and delicious!
Fantastic food! My new favorite restaurant.
