Ok so my review is its closed down! Booked on line went there for 9pm and it's being renovated to be a coffee shop!! Walked by the next day and the coffee shop looks beautiful really really nice but we didn't get our meal!! Went and found a Mexican restaurant near by and had a blow out meal there. Shame there is still the option to book on line when the Rickshaw has closed down. But I can say the coffee shop looks like it's worth a visit!

Took my husband for his 70th birthday and our sons and we should have taken heed of the empty restaurant when we arrived! The chicken satay starters were uneatable and the whole meal was not that good. Really disappointed!!! After the meal we found out it was closing down shortly.

Disappointed meal......kitchen was closing as we arrived 9pm on Saturday night, said the didn't have our booking luckily I had printed out confirmation. Had been here before and loved it so rebooked to celebrate daughters birthday... Service was poor young girl who didn't really know what she was doing, messed up our order, couldn't have a sweet as kitchen closed.....as I expect the whole restaurant will be soon as there are so many lovely places to eat in Brighton where staff/managers can be bothered to give a professional service to the public...definitely would not recommend!

Pretty mediocre I would say. Food was not amazing. Waiter spilt curry on my wife's dress!! They forgot we had ordered desert! Thai Green curry was better. My noodles was not very nice & it was VERY dry. My wife ordered the Rickshaw special and it was very disappointing.

Worst meal we've had in a long time, and we go out in Brighton for date night every week. My husband and I booked this restaurant for 8pm on a Saturday night after having walked past the restaurant a number of times and admiring the contemporary decor and interesting menu. When we arrived it was empty, we were literally the only customers, which should have set alarm bells ringing! By the time we left at 9pm-ish, there were only 3-4 tables occupied (rare for any good Brighton restaurant) and I understand why, this restaurant clearly cannot rely on repeat business as the food is appalling! The salt and chilli squid we had as a starter was average at best, but the meat platter for two was barely edible. The crispy duck was soggy and not crispy at all, the chicken tikka was so dry you had to drink liquid with it to be able to chew enough to swallow, and the pork ribs were so full of fat that the majority could not be eaten. The beef in satay was tasteless and had clearly just been dropped in the sauce at the end, rather than cooked as part of it, and the sauce itself was bland, barely tasting of peanuts at all. They were out of poppadoms so we were offered naan bread to accompany the platter, and this was no better than what you'd get vac-packed in a supermarket, clearly not homemade as you'd expect. We both agreed we'd have been better off at home with a local take away, or one of those 'dine in for a tenner' meals on offer at the supermarket - this was how poor the quality was! We'd never go back here, not even if the meal was free! The only redeeming quality was the service which was friendly and prompt, and the only reason we didn't knock the service charge they had already added to our bill - it wasn't the waiter and waitresses' fault the food was so poor, but I do think the restaurant owners really need to have a rethink in terms of the quality of chefs they are employing. Total waste of money.
