Amazing server! Delicious, interesting food, full of flavour!
Simply stated, there is no one who is doing what Noreen is doing right now at Rickshaw.
The consistency of the experience, the perfect integration of spice and flavour will exceed your expectations whether this is your 1st or 10th visit.
She is the real thing. A true chef bringing ingredients together in a unique and creative way.
This was a nicely decorated, comfortable restaurant. Service was excellent, the food in my opinion, less so.
The seafood dish had a lot of noodles, but not much seafood. The short rib dish was a long bone covered in beef and fat.
The chickpea and potato curry dish was small and kind of boring.
The chicken appetizer was a star. It was moist, crispy and flavourful. The naan was fresh and delicious. The pakora dish was different from traditional Indian restaurants in that it included fried strips of something in a vegetarian concoction. I couldn’t determine the ingredients. It was alright.
Everyone’s taste is different. I didn’t love the food here and am unlikely to return.
Delcious appetizers and extremely polite staff. Cocktails were delicious. Really loved the overall dining experience. However, the main dishes are not as tasty as the appetizers.
Combination of different styles
The Burmese chicken and the cocktails were amazing. The beef curry and mung been chaat lacked oomph. I think the chef has more oomph and shouldn't shy away from showing Toronto the true flavors of each dish
Fantastic as always!
Wow. Chef’s menu was magnificent. Great value too!
Excellent and eclectic. When I saw this on Open Table, I was intrigued by the unusual menu, so we decided to try it. We had an excellent meal. For appetizers, we had the eggplant dip and the something called 685 chicken (might be misremembering). Both were wonderful — very flavorful and unusual. For main dishes, my wife had a curry shrimp dish which was very good. I had a spicy Thai basil duck which was excellent. I hope to have an opportunity to go back soon.
Almost forgot: The naan is to die for. Best I ever had.
For my family, a dinner out usually means visiting a cookie-cutter establishment so my pickier family members (I won't name names, I'm not an animal) can enjoy their meal. You can imagine my surprise when, after an initial visit to Rickshaw Bar for my birthday (the ultimate, impossible-to-argue excuse), my family insisted they come down from the suburbs for a second visit because they simply didn't get to try enough of Chef Noureen's eclectic, flavourful and heart-and-soul-filling dishes. Let's remember the travesty that is driving through the DVP to understand how delicious Rickshaw Bar's food is to drag them through that hell. Thrilled that Chef Noureen has agreed to join Mealshare which means soon guests will be able to share a simple, healthy meal with a youth in need simply by ordering one of her designated Mealshare dishes.
Love the food here! They recently changed up the menu options and they are even better! Shareable dinner options for meat eaters, and a ton of delicious veggie appetizers for people looking for something light to accompany drinks!
Brittany was great as she provided impeccable service
We absolutely loved Rickshaw bar from the moment we walked in. Great menu, cozy atmosphere and wonderful service.
It was our anniversary. We love Rickshaw Bar. We’d been there once before and were blown away. This time was no different. We got the chef’s tasting menu and every dish was insanely good. We’re already planning our next dinner at Rickshaw!
Superb, we loved it
Amazing food! Highly recommended, wish I could go back and eat it again.
Definitely the best food I've ever had. We've recommended this place to everyone. Can't wait to go back!
Friend visiting from out of tow
Stunning chef’s menu, as usual. Perhaps the best value in the area for quantity, but it’s the exquisite quality that slam dunks the option. A la carte is a way to go, but the chefs menu is THE way to go. Asian fusion at its finest with an excellent cocktail menu.
Good food and great staff. The staff was very helpful in every way and was very knowledge when it came to knowninf the menu.
Great service, great food, love this place. Had brussel sprouts, chicken 567 (?) and a pita/chick peas plate. All delicious
Outstanding cuisine that is creative, fresh, original and delicious. We read reviews ahead that highly reviewed the food and we asked our waiter for suggestions. Our group of four shared dishes family style and it was a great way to taste various dishes. All were excellent. Our out of town guests are foodies who dine all over the world and they repeatedly praised Rickshaw Bar. The service was excellent and the amibance is casual and comfortable with a nice looking bar. We will definitely return and bring our out of town guests when they visit for a taste of Toronto sure to impress.
Wonderful food and lovely staff !
Service was attentive and polite - server waited until we had finished speaking, not interrupting a conversation. Food was incredibly flavourful - I recommend Chicken 685, sesame brussels sprouts, and the lamb shank - all were incredible!
Amazing dinner, as usual. I’ve been here with girlfriends, and brought my husband for our anniversary dinner, and it is so perfect both both occasions. Amazing service, creative menu, and incredible value. Would recommend to anyone.
We had the chef's menu and we highly recommend it. The food was great and the service was outstanding. We'll be back!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Waiter was extremely kind and charismatic. The food was beyond amazing, not one part of the dinner was below fantastic. Will be eating here again. 14/10 would recommend.
Fantastic experience , a tad pricey but each dish and drink was unique and made with care! Couldn’t have asked for a better place for a celebration... we had a great time!
Male server was a weirdo! Taking menu before I was even done . I thought he needed it for another guest then tried to put it at the back of the seating area . I'm like ummm.. I'm not done with it yet . Awkward . We ordered the civiche for $14 and you get one scallop with 5 chips . What a rip off . The chicken snack was very good however . Our male server kind of ruined our time , power struggle about what the fried chicken was or wasn't . ( lightly fried chicken with house spices ) he didn't want to hear it . It was absolutely gluten free , lighting fried with different flavors . Lol . Whatever ! The civiche was very very small and the beef dish was very tasty but also on the smaller side . The Female waitress was amazing and made our dinner experience a lot better . I one be back . Food was good but super tiny for the price and we were made to feel awkward by the other staff member . Can't see this place having reoccurring customers . It's sad . The place is nice and food is good . But they need to relax on the prices and get let the weirdo go .
Outstanding food and service. The flavours are amazing.
Service was terrible. Our server was so rushed that she ended up just picking a bottle of wine for us and didn’t ask us what we wanted. The scallop ceviche maybe had one scallop in it. Overall was not impressed.
There are very few restaurants where I choose to go back many times and this is one of them. The food is delicious, the staff are extremely friendly and attentive and the ambience is great. Would highly recommend Rickshaw bar!
Absolutely delicious food with fantastic service! My second time returning to treat my best friend to the chef’s tasting menu. Mouth watering decadence in flavour! Highly recommend checking out this spot!!
A delightful dining discovery. Loved every bite; freshest ingredients and inventive combinations made for a winner with each selection.
Outstanding service and delicious food, traditional dishes presented with an original twist. Unfortunately we went on a Sunday when there is only a limited menu, but there was still a good variety to choose from.
At $80+ for 1 app, 2 mains and 1 dessert, no drinks, it was on the expensive side. but would definitely go again.
One of the best places I've eaten in Toronto. I don't actually think Toronto, for its size, has many restaurants with good food. This is one of the best, for sure. Great service too.
Really enjoyed the overall vibe at the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, the decor is on point and the available drinks are amazing. I particularly liked the Lychee Lassi for anyone wanting a non alcoholic option. The chicken paratha taco was absolutely delicious. I found the salt level to be much too high in the Chicken 685 as well as the Spicy Basil Duck but the flavors were still nice. Would definitely return to try more items on their menu.
Excellent food and service!
I'm so glad that we listened to a friends recommendation and tried out Rickshaw. I will definitely be back on subsequent trips to Toronto. What a find! The food was spot on.
Every dish had so much flavour! The tea leaf salad was very unique with all the different flavours and textures... delicious! The Chana bateta is also amazing! The perfect amount of spice with a side of warm naan. Definitely will come back here!
