It was the worst. Waited hour and a half
For dinner. Poor quality
Amazing food- best meal I've had in a while. Great service and beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend.
The tavern was warm and inviting on a cold winter evening, especially by the fireplace. Great ambiance and service! The fondue was perfect for sharing, the garden veggie sticks were delicious as usual, but the shepherd's pie was perhaps a bit too rich. Excellent wine and cocktails. Prices were just a little too steep to win a 5-star across the board rating.
My husband and I dined at the Tavern with our two grandsons and had a wonderful experience. All of the staff were very attentive and were certain all of our needs were met. We each ordered a different entree and loved each one. Our grandsons ate like champs which made us feel like super grandparents.
We felt completely safe with all of the precautionary measures in place due to covid.
Thank you to the entire staff we can not wait to go back!!

The door service at the restaurant was less than acceptable. Snarky attitude from start to finish. Food was less than acceptable. Had the Hunters Stew, it was frozen and reheated, meat was chewy, the supposed wild boar was dry beef cubes and duck was dry chicken breast. And the whole dish was just digusting not to mention expensive. What a horrible experience. My girfriend ordered a harvest stew which had seasonal vegetables over rice. The rice was mushy and the vegetables just melted as they were thawed from being frozen for so long. The plates were reheated and not properly. On top of it we were charged a $30 service charge for our $200 less than acceptable dinner. What a let down for the Griswold Inn. I dont recommend this place nor will I revisit this place ever again. There are plenty of bed and breakfasts that serve real food and great character all round.
We ate at Richardson's for our anniversary - they were super welcoming and accommodating, seating us right by the fire place and giving us each a glass of champagne. This certainly made us feel special and very appreciative of the thoughtfulness! The food was also excellent.
Felt completely safe with COVID precautions, I was early and the staff sat me early. My waiter was amazing and accommodating, and the food was absolutely delicious.
great food, great ambiance and great service. Good distancing from other tables as well
My husband and I had a great meal. We love coming to Richardson’s Tavern whenever we are in Woodstock. Look forward to our next visit!
Easy check in. Waitstaff was excellent and food was plentiful and tasty.
Am on a Spa weekend following a business trip to Burlington VT earlier in the week. Travelled to the Woodstock Inn and Resort thereafter. Richardson’s Tavern was casual, welcoming with comfort food.
our first time dining was very good, cocktails good, food good service good. second time was a bit more crowded so service somewhat slow. menu changed, no more burgers and they were sold out of harvest bowl which was what i wanted. had to wait very long for dinner to be served, dessert almost didn't show up, so they comped that. overall misses the mark, this could be exceptional dining if management was on top of all things restaurant and food.
Our table ordered several different things. The salads were very fresh and well presented and everyone commented that they were pleased with their entree.
Items a delicious dinner, super friendly and courteous staff. We felt very safe and everything was really clean.
We always like dining at Richardson's Tavern. With Covid-19 its hard to find a place to go where you feel safe to be out, having a meal. So we enjoyed ourselves very much. The food was gret. I wish they had more offerings on the menu but understand why it is limited. Cocktails were good, french fries were delicious, and the Haddock I had was very tasty. Short ribs with Mac & Cheese was really great, too!
Great place for a cozy meal. The food was great, staff was attentive and the drinks were generous!
Guests at the hotel.
Great experience. Would definitely eat there again and recommend to friends
Loved it! Comfortable dining in a warm and inviting tavern. Very good food and very good service.
We sat outside which was very nice. Baked haddock was very good
The Hotel is beautiful and the waitstaff is attentive the food however leaves a lot to be desired. The meals were basic at a premium price. We had a much better experience with the in town restaurants.
My dinner was a fish stew. It was excellent!!! My husband had the Cornish hen also delicious! The best was the maple syrup cake and ice cream
Service very slow.waited 15 minutes until beverage order taken then waited 15 minutes more to receive them.delay continued with appetizer and entrees.
Very good food and a pleasant dining room. Social distancing was adequately observed.
We were promptly greeted and seated at a table outdoors. The service was attentive. We asked if we could see the restaurant menu for the Red Rooster in addition to the tavern menu and received it right away. The two of us ordered from both menus and the meals were both delicious.
I will add that we have eaten at the Red Rooster and had a similar enjoyable experience.
Nice spot for a more casual date night. The food is good, not amazing, but still a good. The atmosphere is nice
Asked for no feta on salad ,GOT FETA
Excellent food and service. Fun for all ages!! I highly recommend it!
Great tavern food and well maintained.
Matre’d was very helpful. Staff very professional. Food very good and a good value.
Didn’t even stay because the women checking us in was very rude and gave us a look for having a toddler in a stroller. Yes we had a reservation. Sad.
Don’t bother going if you don’t have a reservation. Front desk is not accommodating at all.
Found another great place to eat.
The food was very good and the staff was attentive
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was efficient and friendly. Prices appropriate. Only complaint was that it was a little dim.
The kitchen was very slow, it took over 1 hour from the time we sat at our table to the time the brought our entrees
We loved our dinner at the Richardson’s Tavern while staying at the Inn. Our food was delicious and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We got the mussels, seafood stew and bbq steak tip salad! Couldn’t save room for dessert but got a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for room service later and loved it!
menu disappointing. would not recommend this place for dinner.
overpriced
It was a relaxing last night at the Woodstock Inn at Richardson's. Great ending to our mini vacation 😀.
Great food. Once order was placed took a while. Good place to go after long drive here from New Jersey.
Excellent food and service and drinks.
Had a wonderful evening sitting out on the terrace! Food was excellent as well as the service!
