Rich Table is the neighborhood restaurant every neighborhood wishes they have. Lucky Hayes Valley
Such an amazing experience EVERY time. About time they got that Michelin star! Gracias gracias!
I was at this place when it first opened and it is as good or better now as it was then. The dried porcini donuts w/ raclette dipping sauce and sardine chips are still standout appetizers. Also had the delicious pork chop with KC bbq sauce that was perfectly grilled along with a side of white corn w/ cortija aioli and lime juice. Our server was excellent! Attentive and knowledgeable, she brought us unique wines to try with each course. For dessert, cherry granita / ice and the pistachio coffee w/ buttermilk ice cream were both delicious. I would say the menu is very inventive take of comfort food so it’s likely to please both adventurous eaters as well as those that prefer more traditional favorites.
Father’s Day, it was great!
Everything was delicious and seasoned perfectly! The wait staff was also very friendly and attentive.
This is a superb restaurant, worthy of the Michelin star it has. With one exception, the food was fabulous. We started with white corn and porcini doughnuts (those are two separate appetizers). We had different salads. Those two courses were incredible. We had the same entree: tonnarelli in a sea urchin sauce. It was good but no better than good. We shared a dessert of pistachio coffee cake. It was wonderful. Service was very attentive.
Dinner with mom. Great food great service. A bit loud and not enough space given number of tables.
Food was outstanding and service was perfect. Everything was timed right and the waitstaff
Excellent food and service . Second time here and although having a motley crew of kids with us- the servers went out of their way to make all welcome and happy. Food was exceptional too.
So consistently great, even though the menu changes.
Do not miss this extraordinary place! Every dish is unique and flavor packed. They truly use peak of the season bursting with ripeness ingredients in masterful ways only truly gifted chefs could accomplish. While some peak of season ingredients may appear in several dishes (in my recent meal it was sweet corn and luscious ripe cherries) not one I repeat not one dish used the ingredients in the same form nor the same application so it was always like you were tasting it for the first time. I don’t remember a restaurant that has ever been able to accomplish such creativity. Everything on the plate has a reason to be there and contributes to the end result of the dish being over the top delicious.
The bread and the luscious butter stand out to start your meal.
The “tater tots with caviar” are creamy, flavor packed morsels.
All the “bites”are incredible and full of mastery. The “porcini donuts with raclette dip” are ethereal pillows and full of umami!
The “corn tempura with cojita” is a dish I will be talking about for months. So full of contrasts of flavors and so amazing we could have eaten a bucket!
Pastas are all made in house and not to be missed. Our “Campanelle with lobster roe” was another example of the true artistry of this kitchen. The most tender yet toothsome pasta with a sauce using lobster roe reminiscent of the best lobster bisque yet delicate and again flavor packed.
Our “black cod” was another extraordinary execution of creativity.
Again the fact they can weave peak ingredients throughout without ever a repeat of texture or taste is genius.
Desserts are all an explosion of flavors as well.
The current offering of “almond milk ice cream and fresh cherry ice” is a dessert now part of my taste memory.
Service is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable of the bounty of riches that make up their menu.
Wine and cocktail list inspired and perfectly chosen.
You too will be talking about your meal here for a long time!
Let me start by saying we had VERY high expectations of this restaurant based on Michelin guide and reviews online. We were underwhelmed. We did the chefs tasting and - while the food was presented beautifully - it lacked really outstanding flavor. The service was incredible and the ambience is nice, but I can’t say we will be returning or recommending, especially at the high price point.
This continues to be my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. We did the tasting and got to experience so many incredible flavors! And the rich coffee is a must try for desert
Delicious meal at Rich Table for a special occasion- recommend with reservations. The dishes were creative and small enough to share many dishes, however each dish was pretty $$. Highlights were bread and cultured butter and the sardine chips.
Very good, they didn’t explain the food and what we were eating very thoroughly - we had the tasting menu and it was great but we didn’t quite know what we had. I don’t even know the name of the dish that was my favorite.
Great service and food, the ambiance, for the cost, could be better, it’s set up like a fast food restaurant, the people beside had a very loud conversation and kept bumping our table getting up and down for the restroom.
Great and inventive food as always. Porcini doughnuts bare always a hit. Pork chop and cod were also excellent.
Best meal we’ve had in San Fran, you won’t be disappointed.
Our food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. I will gladly return.
I cannot give this restaurant enough praise! This was my second time dining here. I came with my 2 sister’s, we celebrated a special occasion and this experience really made it memorable. Our server, Dana, was everything you could hope for from a hospitality professional. She was patient, kind, welcoming and professional. Not only did Dana make the experience effortless and so incredibly pleasant but the entire staff did as well. I think it goes without saying the food was outstanding. We shared multiple plates (highly encourage) paired with a few different wines by the glass (excellent selection). This dining experience was incredibly memorable and I cannot wait to come back. Thank you Rich Table!
We had eaten at Rich Table about a year ago, and I liked it, but it was not memorable. This time, we came with another couple and had a wonderful meal. Every dish was very creatively structured and very well executed. The mushroom donuts were to die for. The rib eye steak had a very rich, and tasty sauce on top of a perfectly cooked steak.
Very well done. We'll be back soon.
The food was great. Loved the sardine chip and ribeye steak. For the wine selection, it was ok. We also had the wonton ribeye, which was different.
Celebrated wife’s birthday. Eclectic menu with great food and drinks.
Rich Table is The BEST!
Really good place with great service and amazing food. Honest food, absolute top-notch cooking and amazing taste. Good wine choice and super good beers. Many fancy Michelin restaurants can learn how to do both casual and high level food experience in a friendly atmosphere.
Rich Table was amazingly delicious, I will be returning. Only comment is the music selection was random and unnecessary.
This may be my new absolutely favorite restaurant. Three words: Chicken liver eclair. It will change your life.
Overrated, Overpriced, did not live up to the hype. Was a fine meal. In SF it takes a lot to stand out and this meal did not, other than a few of the small plates, nothing really stood out. For nearly $300 for two people, we expected a caliber of meal that this restaurant did not deliver.
So good. Decided against the chef tasting menu. Still had a great experience. The uni butter cacio e pepe is out of this world. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about suggesting pairings with our food.
We came to Rich Table primarily because it was close to the venue where we would be seeing a show, we will be returning because it is worth a trip all on its own. The food was all excellently prepared; however, what put the evening over the top for us was the service. While all the servers who came to the table were excellent, our primary server, Dana, was above-and-beyond. Professional, courteous, and friendly. Knew the menu backwards and forwards, willing to make recommendations and help us decide. And, made sure that we stayed on schedule to get to the performance we had let her know about.
Very highly recommended.
Excellent experience, creative dishes, motivated servers and a distinct personality. worth booking well in advance
Truly a special meal. Every dish was playful, flavorful, well portioned but had me wishing for more! Service was attentive and warm from server, to host, to manager, to food runner. #SardineChip4lyfe.
The food was layered with flavors and beautiful to look at. The atmosphere was more casual than I expected. The servers wore jeans. I like to dress up for fancy dinners and there were more people casually dressed than not. Overall really enjoyed the whole experience.
The food was AWFUL. Had the chefs choice tasting menu. Ate like 9-12 different things. Not a single thing was near wow. Avocado dip was ok, not special. Doughnut item with cheese was ok, not special. Croquette balls nice, not special. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS TRASH! I’m not exaggerating. We were served asparagus twice once cold and then later hot. Halibut with Miso was disgusting. Even the hanger steak was junk, and I have never met a piece of steak I didn’t like. Me and my wife didn’t really enjoy even one thing we ate. The crazy thing is they gave each of us different dishes through half the tasting menu so we had a lot of opportunities to find something we liked. Nope...didn’t happen. Spent $250 plus $40 tip on trash. I tipped because of service not the food. I asked for my check early and the Asian waitress could tell something was wrong and asked if everything was ok. I said yes because her job was done properly. We took dessert home and threw it away because we were already so disappointed. Who ever puts the menu together at this restaurant and cooks everything should probably work at school cafeteria. Avoid - Avoid - Avoid this place. Garbage.
Innovative seasonal good in a lovely, comfotable setting.
Located in a quiet neighbourhood, you would never have thought that a hidden gem existed around the corner.
Amazing food especially with the donuts and katsu pork. Would have loved a bit more curry sauce but amazingly beautiful plating and superb tantalisation of the palate.
The food and service were really incredible. Rich table has one of the best atmospheres in San Francisco. Greatly enjoyed the entire experience.
AMAZING food and AMAZING service! Must go! We were a group of 4, asked several different plates to share - every single one didn't disappoint. Will return for sure.
Always a wonderful experience. Food was delicious, inventive, and seasonal. Staff is outstanding. Warm but informed creating a relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were outstanding as well. Fantastic meal.
Wonderful meal and excellent service! Really enjoyed a couple of old standbys (porcini donuts and sardine chips), as well as the strawberry rhubarb foie gras pie, beef tartare, and all the pasta dishes. Yum.
