Rich Table is the neighborhood restaurant every neighborhood wishes they have. Lucky Hayes Valley
excellent in every way. a totally memorable meal
Excellent service and fresh, innovative dishes. Would definitely recommend.
Interesting. If two people get the tasting menu, you get different things. Added on the bread which got forgotten about since it was served at the end of the meal. Mint desert was a loser. Worth a visit.
Food is VERY heavy. They use gluten in most dishes. Extremely noisy. My clothes and hair smelled horrible. Poor ventilation. Overrated.
It was our first visit, and we ordered the Chef’s Tasting Menu which was outstanding. The explanations of each delicious flavorful dish, and our servers’ concern for our timetable for the Symphony made this the best meal I’ve enjoyed all year. Wow. Truly a special dining experience. We will probably not order the Tasting Menu next visit, however— it was a lot of food. Our server kindly boxed it up for us, so we could take it home. But look out! They’re generous!
Food that is unpreintentious and truly speaks to ones desire to have inspired yet comforting fare in an inviting atmosphere with quality service and hospitality. Evan Rich's restaurant is everything you'd expect from a dining experience and more.
Food was Aggressively seasoned...
Incredible meal with exquisite cocktail pairings. The doughnut bites, bread and butter, was exceptional and definitely worth trying if it’s your first time. The dessert was perfectly balanced and introduced new flavor combinations that were delicious. Highly recommend
Every dish we had was delicious and our server was great. The casual atmosphere does not quite befit the high quality of the cuisine.
Easily one of the best meals I've had in the past few years. Not only is the food outstanding and thoughtfully prepared, the service is among the best you will ever get in San Francisco. Whatever you do, make sure you get the porcini doughnuts, amazing. One of the best restaurants in SF.
Out of all the special places SF has this rose to the top. Truly a fantastic meal and our servor was amazing with a smile. Top 5 Bay Area easily !!!
Rich Table came highly recommended for a dinner. Original reservation was for four, but later expanded to 7. The restaurant accommodated the change, steered us toward the family style option, and was just fantastic throughout the evening. If there was any complaint, it was that we had too much good food! A great “problem” to have. I’d be very happy to return.
The dried porcini doughnuts with raclette were amazing. I got the dry aged ribeye and my mom got the trout, and both were sooo delicious. For dessert we shared the poached apple which was good as well. Service was friendly and helpful. Can’t go wrong with Rich Table!
Love this restaurant so much! Everything about it is a delight. The food and service are divine!
Amazing service, food, and great atmosphere.
We love this room, we love the food (porcini doughnuts taste like they could bring peace to the Middle East) and we love the service.
Phenomenal! From cocktails to apps to entrees... the entire experience was on point!
We love this place. Incredible food in a way more chill environment than most restaurants with that food quality. Probably my fav restaurant in sf. So good.
Groups should try to do family style.
Also the music is perfect and just the right (low) volume.
Wonderful staff. Wonderful food. Wonderful ambiance. Wonderful experience. And Unpretentious. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
The staff was definitely well versed and we had excellent service. We did the porcini doughnuts and sardine chips per the yelp review and although creative, they were not that exciting. We had octopus salad, cod, and steak entree and we thought the cod was overdone and the steak was okay. I did enjoy the uni pasta and the beef tartare. I was just underwhelmed.
This meal was by far the best food that we had in San Francisco. We came the day after our anniversary on the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area. The food was creative and packed full of flavour. The porcini doughnuts and the sardine crisp are must tries.
We also had a cocktail which was excellent as was the service which was meticulous throughout.
We have eaten at a number of Michelin restaurants and this meal was equally as pleasant a dining experience as some of these.
Adam the bartender was amazing!! Highly recommend for awesome craft cocktails and delicious creative food.
We were late due to traffic, but the host was great and seated us right away. When we explained we were rushed for an event they made sure our selections came out quickly. Just a great customer experience and delicious food!
Food quality has slipped. Sardine chips were once one of my most favorite appetizers, but sadly, they have been subpar the last 2 visits- sardine portion is now tiny and very tough. Also, vegetable and salad choices were lacking. Pork chop was a bit overcooked and dry- brining would have helped.
Absolutely loved our tasting menu. This was our last meal after a four week coast to coast road trip, and it was absolutely one of the highlights. Brave, inventive cuisine carried out to exceptional standards, a night to remember. If you have one night in San Francisco, this is the place to go.
The best ever!
Loved it! Would go back again very soon! A bit noisy but interesting flavors and delicious food
Went here two years ago and had a great experience but when I came in this time it was completely different . The food was over seasoned and expensive.
Amazing!!! Great wine, excellent food and some of the best service we've had in San Francisco!!! This was our first time dining here, we went for our anniversary but it will definitely not be the last!
never easy to find a table at short notice for a good reason - food and service remains top quality and worth it every time
A bit overrated for the price.
Disappointing top rated restaurant. We split a pasta appetizer to begin. Far too salty. Wife had the codd that was served strangely on skewers. My steak was good but lots of fat in the meat. Had three glasses of wine between us at $16 a pop with meager pours. Chocolate cake desert was OK but not memorable. Bill with tip was over $200 for two. This restaurant is overpriced for what is said about it. Service was very good however.
Great small plates and fantastic staff. Very accommodating. We closed the restaurant and never felt rushed to leave, they continued to fill our water glasses hours after we paid the bill.
I want to eat here daily. Add this spot to your "must do" list while in San Fran. You need a reservation. Menu changes frequently so listen to the suggestions of your waiter or waitress & bring your fat pants.
First time at the restaurant and first time in San Francisco. We frequently eat in NYC. The food here was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been nicer. If we lived in the area we would go back again and again.
Always love coming here but they can do a better job getting rid of the mosquitoes and flies
They've really hit their stride. Service is vastly improved over a couple of years ago when they were pretty full of themselves. Food is superb, service was knowledgeable, engaged and helpful and we could not have had a better experience. We were a bit high maintenance, splitting a lot of dishes, etc. and they were extraordinarily accommodating.
After making a reservation here and having to leave my credit card on file (which they would charge $45 per person if I canceled or no-showed within 48 hours), I was very stressed to arrive on time. We did so, arriving 5 minutes early to our 7:30pm reservation, even. Sadly we were not even sat until after 8pm. Then, since we had already had two glasses of wine while waiting for our table, didn't need or want more drinks right away. Our server scoffed at us and made us feel embarrassed for not ordering anything right away. Since we were finally able to sit and talk, that's all we wanted to do for a few minutes - not be harassed by our server for not speeding through our dinner. The food was good quality and quite tasty, but I wouldn't say it's a very good value. There are a LOT of other restaurants in SF where you get a lot more for your money. Finally, the hostess came over at the end of the meal to take our check and was rather rude, triple checking that we wanted/needed to split the check between two cards. Again, I don't think we deserved (no one does) to be harassed when we're paying for a nice night out. Overall, I really wanted to love Rich Table, but I wouldn't really recommend it or ever bother coming back.
Also - I called the day or two after we dined and left a message asking for someone to give me a call back so I could explain our experience and perhaps see if they'd be willing to remedy the situation. Never heard back! :(
It was our first time dining here after trying to get in other times. We celebrated a 30th anniversary. It was a wonderful meal. Service was attentive and there was even a card on the table wishing us a happy anniversary. We ordered the tasting menu and they were great about subbing out a few things that we don't eat.
Rich Table is one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco. We go there frequently and love the food and service. But this time the portions particularly the fish at $33 was about half the size of our normal portions. The smaller items prices were increased relative to the past. The dessert was minuscule. Hopefully this is an unusual event but we will not return there for a while even thought the as always was excellent.
