Rich Table Ratings and Reviews
I discovered this place through my friend Ian who has been a chef in SF for many years and told me he is now working there. It was so good that my guest and I ate for 4 people as we experimented around the menu. We started with great bites, cocktails, salads and pasta. We finished with the prime rib covered in crab butter with a side of curried bone marrow. Rich table is a wonderful culinary journey that I recommend others go on.
We decided to order individual items instead of the tasting menu, and I'm glad we did. The table next to us ordered the tasting menu and the portions looked really tiny. We ordered:
- Bread & butter
- Roasted Cauliflower
- Beef Tartare
- Tagliatelle, Dungeness Crab with Brown butter and asian pear
- Ribeye with Dungeness crab butter, and a side of the bone marrow curry
Great flavors and quality ingredients in all of the dishes. Nothing felt too over or underwhelming in terms of taste. The steak with the butter was already delicious, and the bone marrow curry was definitely a bonus! Since we ordered a la carte, the portions were a good size for two of us to share everything. By the time the steak came, we were already pretty full. It's a very generous serving of steak so we took home what we didn't finish.
Service was great. The staff was very attentive and friendly with great recommendations for drinks that would suit our personal preferences. The restaurant seems to be a cozy size so the tables are pretty close to each other, but the overall ambience is lively and energetic. I made a reservation through openTable so we were seated immediately when we arrived.
If you're in the mood for a nice meal, I would definitely recommend Rich Table. It's not anything extravagant, but the food and service are really great. I would eat here again.
Great food. Looking forward to going back. Service definitely left something to be desired. I include general staff attitude as a big part of quality of service. I'd say the staff who served us were very cold. Maybe turn down the pretentiousness a bit and this would be a solid dining experience. No complaints on the food though.
We had the Chef's Tasting Menu and would return in a heart beat. Really extraordinary! Flavors, layers, textures, unique combinations and all were delicious. The aged rib-eye with crab butter and curried bone marrow was over the top. I never say this, but the food and service were worth every penny. Can't wait to go back.
We had the tasting menu and let me tell you there was tons of food so bring your appetite! The first course was insane, literally 6 different little items to choose from each better than the next. Pasta and fish were the following courses and the capstone was a delicious 21-day aged Ribeye with Oysters Rockafeller - amaze balls. Service was on point as well from our knowledgeable server to food runners. Each group was versed in the menu and eager to assist, great experience and lives up to its stellar reputation.
We've now been here several times, and it never disappoints. Quite to the contrary. Classic dishes (e.g. savory donuts) are superb. Seasonal dishes are a hearty fabulous. This time the foie gras torchon was my absolute favorite, but the rib steak was also off the charts. You can always count on Rich Table to delight the senses from start to finish.
we went to rich table on a tight schedule - getting an early reservation and promising to skedaddle by 715pm. service was amazing. food was fabulous. server kept us on track and we almost kept our promise of leaving on time. leslie in reservations was awesome in accommodating. just a fabulous night of food and great service and i'm going to go back a lot more... just a perfect night!! i highly recommend the bread, foie gras, lobster pasta and roasted cauliflower. been dreaming of that since thursday!
The restaurant was very busy and trendy and was actually a little hot inside. We did get there earlier than our reservation and ended up getting lucky with two spots at a the bar. The drinks were amazing. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, The burrata, and the Tagliatelle pasta. The portions were very small. And everything was expensive but the food was delicious! We decided on the orange creamsicle for dessert and i'm so happy that we did... It was better than any creamsicle i've ever had. Definitely worth a try!
Extremely creative menu, excellently prepared. It's a legit food experience. I've been there twice, and each time it's reminded me of Iron Chef. Dishes intend to wow. If I have any complaints, it's that the menu descriptions are inscrutable (so pay close attention to your server's descriptions), and the menu is in fact very RICH -- not a lot of pure, crunchy, high-fiber vegetable options, if any. For instance, we ordered a cauliflower small plate, and while it was technically a vegetable -- and absolutely delicious -- it was heavily sauced and caramelized. This is a small grip, though. Some times you just need to splurge.
I really love this place. It's definitely a neighborhood gem and always crowded for a good reason. They really take good care of you and the food is fantastic. It's always best to have a reservation, but because it's such a small space, you may still have to wait if the previous diners take a while.
My favorite restaurant in SF. Often they surprise me with a new flavor and sensation I've never had before. Been here a dozen times and service is always excellent. Food can range from "pretty good" to "orgasmic" depending on your luck. Will be coming back for more.
My fiancé and I came here for her birthday on 10/22/2016. Amazing dinner. Service was terrific. I didn't get our server's name but he was a young guy who had black rimmed glasses and dark hair. He was great, definitely a pro. I'm sure he was busy but nothing at our table ever felt one bit rushed. He took his time walking us through the menu and answering all of our questions.
Oysters: 8/10 delicious, fresh, swimming in some type of cranberry something-or-other
Mushroom doughnuts: 4/10 my fiancé loved them, they weren't my favorite. Served with this hot creamy cheese sauce, they seemed like something fit for 2am on Friday night rather than at the beginning of a meal. I guess people rave about them though so give them a shot.
Hamachi: 9/10 second best dish of the night. Thick cut hamachi, aji Amarillo, hazelnuts? Or some other type of nut. Perfect combo of ultra fresh-tasting fish, spice, and texture
Spaghetti: 10/10 blew me away. Every bite was incredible. Thick texture, meaty sauce that wasn't overpowering, perfectly cooked pasta. Would go back just for this.
Ribeye: 8/10: served with oysters Rockefeller over the top. Perfectly cooked steak. Super flavorful.
Pumpkin cake and some chocolate and mint dessert were both terrific.
We tried a few of their reds btg and the Nero d'avola really stood out. Great with the pasta and the steak. Bartender made a great boulevardier and we tried their coffee cocktail as well - delicious.
Great dinner, hope to be back soon!
The food is extraordinary. Flavor combinations unique to the chefs and their house. It is always a privilege to dine at Rich. Service is beyond expectation. They never cease to amaze. They out perform Michelin rated East Coast institutions while maintaining California sensibilities.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. The Quite A Pair cocktail, the Burrata, and the Douglas Fir Pierogi were all perfection. Such an exquisite balance of flavors. The service was also impeccable, and the atmosphere was clean and dignified. I'll definitely be back!
